The use of MAT is supported by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) and National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).

My experience at the clinic here has been so extremely helpful in my journey. Especially to be able to have such a genuine, compassionate, accepting & non-judgmental councilor in Julie Herrera. One of my personal biggest issues in life is to have people that are genuine & REAL , not shallow or fake ! She is such an honest & down-to-earth counselor that makes you feel heard & seen instead of just another case file or patient. Our individual & group counseling sessions truly help me to not feel alone & is a safe space to feel heard, helped & understood. She is always on top of everything in terms of keeping up on documentation & forms/updates/medication dose adjustments etc. Julie is truly a blessing in my experience of treatment as she is always willing to help me get answers to questions or concerns & just exudes/radiates true genuine compassion. I feel blessed to have such a supportive councilor helping me! The nurses as well as the front desk ladies have also been very helpful & knowledgeable making this whole process in this difficult & important situation as simple & painless as possible!

Accepted Insurance

El Cajon Comprehensive Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I sincerely appreciate the love and care that counselor Julie gives out. In one of my life's lowest points she took me by the hand and walked me through the process and benefits that CTC El Cajon has to offer. I hope that she gets the recognition that she deserves because she truly is saving lives. Thank you Julie

Personally speaking I consider myself fortunate having been able to have such caring and compassionate individuals working on the staff at this treatment facility. The ladies at the front desk had always treated me and the other paitents with respect and have attended to my needs and others in a timely manner, and they have shown their competence in every aspect of their job which I couldn't imagine is an easy task given the negative hostile attitudes of walk-ins, and other paitents whom are dealing with their own personal issues. A majority of the time people will be unnecessarily aggressive with the workers verbally accousting them despite whatever the issues are they have no actual hand in doing. I have always felt safe and secure while going through the program and had been treated with kindness and respect despite in particular instances where they're being forced to simultaneously deal with an upset, unruly paitent whose delusional state could easily unravel into a violent altercation with anyone in their proximity. The uplifting nature each staff member and the counselors have shown me had been greatly helpful as it aided me on my continued journey to reach full sobriety, and to accomplish the program. A goal I'd be unable to never achieve otherwise. I just wish more people struggling with their own issues involving addiction are fortunate as I was and they are able to find the support as they begin their arduous adventure to find their sober-self, I hope they'll be able to find the part of themselves that will allow themselves to enroll at "The El Cajon Treatment Center." I believe it's the sobriety endeavor that they are able to help others discover. I knew no simple anecdote would enable me to fully fulfill the scope of reverence I've come to know for you. I recall while I was first being admitted to the facility I was unusually nervous but, the interactions the team showed me made believe I was right where I needed to be, and for the years everyone at the Treatment Center taught me a better way which I still work on but, I wouldn't change those times for the World. So thank you all greatly. I couldn't ask for a better experience or better people who helped me through it.Yours truly,Benjamin Tyler Thomas Marotta
