Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

My father Neil Zweemer was admitted with Dr. Aragon summer 2024, this was my mom and myself's 2nd major experience with a hospital stay and the staff. EVERYONE from the ER intake staff, to the doctors, to all the nurses were truely amazing and all of them communicated 100% about what was going on with my dad. This team at Cottage hospital was so amazing and did everything in their power and with the upmost care, love, kindness and respect. The nurses and doctors are our heros and they made this experience the best it could be for my mom and I. There wasnt a single bump in the road or question about what was being performed or why. The entire team is amazing as well as the other hospital staff and volunteers who worked with us. Not to mention GREAT food and prices from the cafeteria, and my dad had his own gourmet menu with room service! I'm so proud to write this and that we have this level of care in SB County. I am forever grateful, it takes a special kind of person to do this job, and it certainly shows just how special this hospital is, and the folks and managers who hire the right staff to create this great team effort. Again, we thank you for everything you all did for our family, you are very special and I'll never forget you! John Zweemer XXOO

This is easily the worst hospital I've ever been to, and I've been a patient/visitor at numerous hospitals in many states.

The doctors at Cottage are amazing. This review is about the nurses not the doctors . The nurses were honestly terrible. I buzzed the remote control 20 times with no answer. So I tried getting up by myself, which didn t work. Finally 2 nurses came in to help . They said they couldn t help cuz their backs. They just stood and watched me since they couldn t help. Another nurse came in, noticed a pill box in my wallet and threatened to call security. She was rude and condescending. Another nurse asked if I was OK ? No, not really a few hrs after surgery! She told me to go for a walk at 6am after they woke me up every hour after surgery. A older man came to roll me to CT Scan, pushed my back onto that rolling table and I screamed in pain. Terrible. Couldn t wait to come home. Food was terrible too. Finally just ordered some toast and that was good. I m never returning. UCLA was top notch, this was amateurish.

I came into Cottage Hospital Emergency late night June 8th for respiratory troubles I was having. There are no urgent care alternatives in Santa Barbara and this was my only option. The emergency was seemingly empty and they accepted me immediately. They never asked me for ID or verified any proof-of-identity, never had me sign any sort of document either.Nurse took my vitals, O2 content was unsurprisingly low, and was taken to a room to wait for attention from doctor. I sat, I waited, I even fell asleep, FOUR HOURS waiting any medical attention. The air in the hospital was very soothing on my respiratory system and had independently cleared up my complications by the time doc showed up.I expressed that my concerns were settled, but she listened to my chest with stethoscope and told me that I was likely sick and to take Tylenol. I never received any stabilizing treatment from the emergency room staff, nor did I sign any documents or prove my identity during the visit.Turns out I had bronchitis, and this doctor and 5 hour visit was no help whatsoever except gouging my pocket. They send me a bill over $2,000 the other day. Itemized bill says simply the visit constituted this. I never received any treatment and I am bewildered that they even sent me a bill, let alone one of multiple thousand dollars.

I only visit this place from outside only. Hopital has a good warm looking. Surrounded with lots of greenery and relax. Didn't look like a hospital to me.
