About Comprehensive Psychiatric Center – East Fern Street

The Comprehensive Psychiatric Center in Miami, Florida is an outpatient clinic for persons with opioid addiction. They offer medication assisted treatment, counseling, and recovery education. They accept Medicaid and Medicare.

If you’re medically stable, you can undergo ambulatory detox. This allows you to withdraw from opioids safely and under a doctor’s supervision even as you continue to live at home.

Buprenorphine, methadone, and other FDA approved medications are also used post detox to reduce your relapse risk by reducing cravings.

Their clinic operates seven days a week to ensure you can get your medication and receive the monitoring and support you need.

They get a lot of positive comments from satisfied patients, with some pointing out the lengths to which staff went to ensure they were able to get help, even if it meant them staying a little late at work. Others said their counselors were kind and loving, but a few people voiced concerns over billing procedures and the confidentiality of patient information shared in the waiting room.

This is a real 100% review. I am in my 30s father of 3kids when I say I this place saved my life it literally did! Everyone who works there are great people! Jay is my counselor, I love the nurse during the weekday she is very passionate and professional and knows what she is doing along with the part time nurse that comes on Saturdays only, Front desk lady is such a lovely soul. The doctor s are also passionate in their field and don t treat you like just another number. Overall, this place saves my life I just feel My counselor is overworked, and if the owner of this place would invest more money into quality, such as hiring extra Extra workers to assist I believe this place will be outstanding to finish off my review from 1 to 5 The number one being lowest of all, and the number five being outstanding I personally overall between my experience as a consumer, and as a Business establishment perspective I give it a four only reason being that they can be because they have the potential to be outstand Have more assistance, maybe more work on the back end. BUT!!!!!! Don t get me wrong as a consumer who goes there for my services. I give it a 5 Because they saved my life no doubt about it. Thank you guys.at cpc south

Joining CPC has been one of the best decisions I've made in my recovery journey. The program offers a structured and supportive environment that truly makes a difference. The staff is knowledgeable, compassionate, and always willing to provide guidance. CPC has helped me regain control of my life, offering tools and resources that have been invaluable. Whether it's through one-on-one sessions, group meetings, or the sense of community, I ve felt supported every step of the way. I highly recommend CPC to anyone seeking a meaningful path to recovery. If you want something bad enough, you'll make it happen, one way or another. Keep fighting the good fight.

This place was heaven sent. The day I first came I had been discharged from the hospital a day prior and in pain from surgery. I called and told them I was on the way and they waited till a little after close for me. I have followed their treatment and I can t say I ve been treated wrong ever. They have been nothing but great since the first day. Dr ciraldo and the counselor who sits in the first office to the right hand side ( terrible for not remembering names ) are always helpful. I met the owner of the clinic once and he was also understanding and supportive of my situation. I am thankful for this place and I hope more people feel comfortable reaching out and getting the help you think isn t possible ! V.C

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Walked in desperate 9 yrs ago after being a hardcore addict for a decade. Single greatest decision of my life.I tried everything prior nothing helped, not even suboxone. It s not that I DIDNT want to get clean..I PHYSICALLY could NOT picture my life w/o drugs..Words can t express my gratitude for this place. Came here in 2015 after more than a decade of trying everything possible to get clean. Every preconceived notion I had about methadone prior was solely from stigma, to the point I was almost ashamed to walk in the door but thank God I did . I was at the point in my addiction a few Drs who were familiar w/methadone & Cpc directed me here & these guys walked me thru everything..Not only have I been off H ever since.. I m at a place in life I really never thought possible like I m SO far from where I was even prior when having small stints here or there, my life still revolved around that obsession w/drugs & it doesn t at ALL anymore..Also the Dr & the STAFF.. I mean I could cry just thinking about what those women mean to me & what theyve helped me accomplish in the last 9 yrs.. Miriam & Claudia the counselors & Miriam the Nurse.. .even Blanca EVERY single last one of them. They ve become SUCH huge parts of my life..I wouldn t have this life without them it s a simple as that..They re always asking about my family, always checking in have walked me thru jobs & all the nerve racking experiences I went thru till I found the right place for me... what they do really goes so beyond addiction.. once cravings & all that subsided they never stopped asking how can we help u make ur quality of life better? They ve offered me INSANE emotional support curated treatment plans.. 1 on 1 counseling, references for specialist & Drs for everything from MH to woman s health/clinic (& even helped me find ones when I had no insurance..) and then LET ME KNOW when they were working on TAKING insurance so I could start the process of getting my medication covered and ALL because of THEM.. I DID 500$ a month they saved me the day it came thru I got it we ALL celebrated.. they were JUST as happy for me they fought just as hard as I did and I think that sentiment sums this place up perfectly This is a place & ppl who will fight JUST AS HARD as you do..& damn that s a rare thing. After over a decade of trying to get clean & numerous rehabs treatment centers I can say w/o question it s one of the only places I ve been in MIA for addiction treatment where u can tell, for them.. it AINT about money..Point blank THIS is a clinic that actually cares. I can t speak on behalf of ALL clinics.. I can fully speak on behalf of THIS clinic..If you re in need of help if you re scared if you need a clinic that won t judge you, will meet you where ur at, and will even help break down the reality of methadone to you & or your loved ones or parents THIS is the clinic you want to come to. 100/10.

CPC South has been a great help in my life & my sobriety. i came to them after being on methadone for a number of years, & having success! being new to miami & the area from living in new york was difficult & they helped me with that transition, from the technical side, in changing my clinic as i had moved from another state, as well as personally, as i am disabled & sometimes i do have to deal with specific situations where it may be hard to explain, and they ve worked with me to find the best fit for myself, my recovery, as well as their own program & protocols.the staff is very helpful & hospitable, and we have become very close. very special thanks to the counselors, staff & especially nurse miriam for their help & understanding over the years. if i see a new patient coming in, and they might be having a hard time, i ll tell them right then. this can change your life, & everything that you put in, you re going to see come back to you in the form of positive changes. you definitely get so much back in return for just following through on your program. if you want it enough you can change your entire life in just a couple of days. there are doctors, nurses & counselors that can work with you on tailoring your specific treatment plan that is right for you and any specific issues that you personally may need to address.over the years i have seen them make many improvements in the facility as far as safety, service & staff that are very noticeable and make CPC look & feel very comfortable. i thank you very much for your years of service. you really get back what you put in here, & they re all ready to help you with your journey into a new life in recovery.- C.
