About Comprehensive Life Resources

The residential treatment program is for individuals living with severe mental illness. Clients engage in psychiatric care, peer support services, case management services, skill-building classes, and traditional counseling services. Once a person completes the program, it is advised that they transition into an outpatient level of care to continue treatment.

The outpatient treatment program offers access to medical care and dental care, age-specific counseling services and support groups, and specialty services for veterans. This level of care also provides transitional living services for individuals who are completing the residential treatment program and moving back into their home environment.

Comprehensive Life Resources accepts most insurance plans, including Amerigroup, Magellan, ComPsych, HCSC, and more. It is advised that individuals contact their insurance carrier prior to starting treatment because out of network benefits may vary from plan to plan.

Accepted Insurance

Comprehensive Life Resources works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are frequently used to facilitate clients' transition from inpatient to outpatient care. Clients who are more stable may also choose to enter IOP rather than a residential rehab following detox. Intensive outpatient treatment typically consists of nine to 20 therapeutic hours per week, with services ranging from psychotherapy to recovery education to holistic care. Many programs offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and/or alcohol addiction.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs support clients as they focus on maintaining their sobriety after intensive (often inpatient) treatment. These programs adhere to a model of life-long recovery, addressing addiction disease as a chronic, relapsing condition. Rehab aftercare services vary widely based on the specific and evolving needs of the client, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, and 12 step program induction. Clients, case managers, and care teams typically collaborate on long-term care plans.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), individuals can receive intensive rehab with the ability to return home each day. PHP treatment is often an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down option. PHP treatment typically requires at least 20 hours per week for approximately 90 days. Common components of PHP treatment plans include relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services. Insurance coverage for PHP treatment is typically available, though coverage specifics depend on your insurance provider.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Clinicians who apply motivational interviewing techniques engage with their clients as equal partners. This method avoids warnings and confrontation and instead allows clients to analyze their situation and explore their options. This technique is often used when the client feels unsure about their ability or desire to change.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

This is supposed to be mental health help?!?!?! I feel so setup by the very people who are supposed to be helping me heal and be a better version of myself!I'm 6ft 5in black gay male and have been treated so badly and like I was some kind of horrible violent person. When i have never been that way with them at all. Not only that but I have been misled and misinformed on more than one occasion.Totally using there policy on missed appointments to gaslight me into being the bad guy because I missed 2 appointments. Each time that this situation has happened I have gone above and beyond to make sure that everything is okay. To make sure that I called and tried to let them know what was going on with me and how are why I have missed these 2 appointments. I have actually called and shown up in person and have been told that everything was fine and not to worry about it. I have set multiple appointments that they have canceled with no notice or explanation as to why or even a sorry for the inconvenience. To only find out 13 days after that the fact that my own counselor has dropped me from the program with no notice to me and with me making sure that she knew that I had a appointment coming up that I could not miss and had already rescheduled. Now because it's 3 days after the 10 days that it's a problem for me to come back and receive treatment but that someone is going try to help be able to continue to be seen here. Mind you that I had been in contact with them multiple times within that 10 days and asked if there was any kind of problem because I have been in this kinda situation with them once before. This is the very short version of how I have been gas lighted by the very place that is supposed to be helping me with this kind of stuff in my life.So disrespectful and unprofessional, not to mention the fact that this is a place for people who are suffering and dealing with so much already. I have been coming to them for a year now and in the last few months of being in their so called care I don't trust them and I will never go back to this place again and I hear on their voice mail that they are full of adults right now (that might be why they are gaslighting me) and would like to treat children!!! I can't believe how I've been treated! There's no way in the world that I would trust them with my child for any reason! If you were smart you wouldn't either because if they are gaslighting the adults like this, I don't want to imagine what they would do to a child. If you need help, SEEK IT ELSEWHERE!!!

I missed a session because my mother was in the hospital and they fired me as a patient, this facility has zero care to their patients, at first I thought this was an amazing place but the therapists are overworked and can t properly care for their clients. The person on the phone said and I quote, I believe in you . I have bipolar 1 and now can no longer get my medications, I pray for my safety when I run out.

Front desk doesn't know how to do their job or answer the phone, faxs take 2weeks instead of 24-48 hours. On hold to speak to front desk for 25 mins.

I specifically told Dr. Albert Nguyen to NOT prescribe my daughter any controlled substances. Due to past abuse. Not only did Dr. Nguyen prescribe her medication, but IGNORED our families worst fears! All because She s 18 and can make her own decisions. Now, I am sitting here next to my daughter at her bedside in the emergency room due to an OVERDOSE!

My son went here for months and made no progress in opening up whatsoever. That s not why i m leaving the bad review though. Alex seemed like a nice caring therapist so i gave her the benefit of the doubt and was willing to give her whatever time and patience she needed to get through to him.THE REASON FOR THE BAD REVIEW:On MULTIPLE occasions Alex was flaky, would show up late to appointments or not at all or she would want to reschedule last minute not taking into account how much my son s grades were suffering because of all the absences. The last straw was the SECOND time she just decided not to show even after we drove a half hour to get there, paid for parking and sat in the waiting area for 15 minutes. Even then I was understanding and didn t complain about lost parking fees. What REALLY bothered me was the next week we weren t able to make it and Alex had the nerve to send a threat letter that my son would be fired as a client if it happened again. I mean, WOW! REALLY ALEX???? After all those times we were understanding of your constant flakiness? I couldn t believe the nerve and hypocrisy.
