About Comprehensive Healthcare – 505 South 4th Avenue

Comprehensive Healthcare - 505 South 4th Avenue in Yakima, Washington, is a 16 bed residential facility that offers various mental health and addiction recovery services. This Crisis Triage Center is licensed as a nonmedical withdrawal management and residential treatment facility. They can provide mental health crisis stabilization if you’re experiencing severe or urgent mental health issues. They also provide subacute withdrawal management or detox if you’re in the early stage of overcoming substance dependence.

Subacute detox is less intensive than medical detox. It focuses on managing your withdrawal symptoms in a more stable environment. It’s ideal if you seek medical support for withdrawal symptoms but don’t need constant medical supervision. Such withdrawal symptoms are usually not life threatening but still significant.

This facility also provides acute care services and employs designated crisis responders to handle urgent mental health situations and support you if you’re in crisis. If you’re judicially involved you can benefit from their jail diversion and jail based correction services.

These services are delivered by mental health and substance abuse treatment specialists. These experts address your immediate needs such as obtaining medication refills, scheduling urgent appointments and ongoing crisis assessment. You’ll receive symptom monitoring, case management and referrals to outpatient or longer term treatment services as needed.

Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are frequently used to facilitate clients' transition from inpatient to outpatient care. Clients who are more stable may also choose to enter IOP rather than a residential rehab following detox. Intensive outpatient treatment typically consists of nine to 20 therapeutic hours per week, with services ranging from psychotherapy to recovery education to holistic care. Many programs offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and/or alcohol addiction.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs support clients as they focus on maintaining their sobriety after intensive (often inpatient) treatment. These programs adhere to a model of life-long recovery, addressing addiction disease as a chronic, relapsing condition. Rehab aftercare services vary widely based on the specific and evolving needs of the client, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, and 12 step program induction. Clients, case managers, and care teams typically collaborate on long-term care plans.

12-step icon12-Step

12 step programs support participants' psychological, spiritual, and emotional development as integral to sustained recovery. Though 12 step recovery programs are based on the belief in a non-denominational higher power, religious affiliation is not required. Group meetings are paper-led, anonymous, free, and available daily, including on holidays, in most communities. Peer sponsors selected by the participants provide one-on-one coaching and support. Specialized formats are widely available, including programming for youth, seniors, and families.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Every sober living home in Washington allows for increased independence in recovery while still providing structure and accountability. Residents are expected to be responsible for themselves. They must pay for room and board and do everything they would do for themselves if they lived in a regular home. Typically, residents can live in a men's or women's sober living home for as long as they want, as long as they follow the house rules.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

It can be difficult for family and friends to carry out a successful drug intervention in Washington on their own. Intervention services can help. These services typically include education about addiction and enabling behaviors, expert facilitation for interventions, and recommendations for appropriate treatment. Often, the involvement of intervention services can create a smooth transition into rehab.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Medical detox is often the first step in addiction recovery and involves ridding the body of drugs and/or alcohol in a supervised inpatient setting. If you've become physically dependent on substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines (like Xanax), or opioids, quitting abruptly may cause uncomfortable or even dangerous side effects. In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals will help manage any potential withdrawal symptoms with the aim of keeping you as safe and comfortable as possible.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Clinicians who apply motivational interviewing techniques engage with their clients as equal partners. This method avoids warnings and confrontation and instead allows clients to analyze their situation and explore their options. This technique is often used when the client feels unsure about their ability or desire to change.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

family iconFamily Therapy

One goal of family therapy is to provide a platform where members have a safe place to talk about the challenges that addiction has created in their lives. Using guided sessions, therapists help individual family members develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues between themselves to support their loved one's sobriety.

If I could leave a zero I would. We went and picked our daughter up at 11 o'clock at night (3 and a half hour drive) just to get her out of there. Wouldn't give her the withdrawal meds she brought, toilets overflowing, uncompassionate staff, wouldn't answer the phone. No one was even checking on her in her Room. Awful.

Always was a negative experience for me the multiple times I went and ended up leaving within 24 HOURS.Now that my partner is there, can't get any info on how he's doing although he signed a release of info. They don't medicate like other detoxes I've been to.He had to go to the E.R. because of his high blood pressure. He's made it 25 hours, and ready to get picked up!!

It was alright, until it wasn't. My advice would be don't be a difficult patient and you'll probably get decent care. Considering the vulnerability of the population they serve, a little more compassion wouldn't hurt.

Absolutely horrible crisis line. Three times in a row when a family member had a crisis they called and so did I to help them talk to someone and no one answered. Was on hold for 20 min and still no one answered the phone.
