I haven't had good experiences with hospitals in the past so I was prepared to be disappointed. We were transferred to the ER from another hospital. I had the sense that they were ready for us before we even got there. My son broke his hip and was in surgery within a few hours after getting there. The nursing staff was outstanding in both taking care of my son and us. We didn't get a lot of time with surgeon before hand but she made sure that all of our questions were answered. After surgery, they made it a priority to get us back to recovery to see him. We really never waited for anything. Their follow up after we got him home was well done as well. I would not hesitate to take my kids back there for anything they needed.

They accused my daughter and her boyfriend for shaking my grandson. while he is fighting for his life. They or my family can't even see him!! Because, one Dr said he had hemorrhaging behind his eyes. He came in because, he was choking then he wasn't breathing. My local hospital had him transported to children's. Now he is fighting for his life. We can't be there!!!

Accepted Insurance

Children’s Medical Center – Care House works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

My daughter had tubes put in recently and every single person I came in contact with throughout the journey has been WONDERFUL. Mary at the front desk in the specialty care center went above and beyond for my daughter and I. Her doctors were so helpful and all the nurses were so kind. Sarah in Audiology was amazing. My toddler actually loved coming every single time. Thank you all!

My child received excellent care on her hospital stay of multiple days. During the stay on the 7th floor, Pam was the Environmental Services Worker. She did an exceptional job with the work she performed. She stopped in two times each day to clean. She always had a smile on her face and pleasantly engaged in conversation. The work she is doing has a positive impact in the work of healing at Dayton Children's!

Billing department and central scheduling is a total mess. Our son had a surgery early june and never received any bill or phone calls after. My wife messaged children's in mid/late july asking if the bill would be arriving and was told it was sent out. Fast forward to mid august and still no bill or phone calls so my wife called and was told it was in level 2 of 4 of being sent to collections. It s hard to pay something that we never received even after going out of our way to find out information on. Now to the central scheduling, we were told by the surgeon that central scheduling would be reaching out for a follow up and this never happened. The quality of the care from our surgeon was just fine but unfortunately there are too many cons to give a positive review.

Dr. Toro in the ED was SUPER rude and unprofessional; with every question she asked she made us feel as if we aren t doing the best for our child. When she asked if we were okay with our daughter being admitted for a prior issue we told her no, that we would follow up with an actual pediatrician since we were only there for the head injury. This doctor then said I have no choice and took it upon herself to call cps and tell them that we were neglecting her medical needs because She was at risk for organ failure. Which was news to us because she only said it was because she hadn t gain much in a few months but what do they expect from a child that was being neglected by her bio parents prior to me getting full custody? It s not like she has lost any weight. After speaking to the other doctors and nurses, my child is NOT at risk for organ failure and they have no idea why Dr Toro took it upon herself to say that she was and for calling cps on us for neglect seeing how we still stayed. Now our new family is greeted with this on top of an already scary and stressful situation.Unfortunately this is not the only complaint I have Our first night admitted the lab tech came in at 6am; without introducing herself, saying what she was in for, nor waking anyone up including our 3yr, flipped on the lights and immediately shoved a needle into my daughters arm. We were abruptly woken up by our 3yr old screaming out in pain because she was never woken or warned before this lady tried to take her blood. While we did get that taken care of by Child Life (Thank You Izzy!) now having a sign on our door that they re no longer allowed in without a child life specialist with them. It doesn t help the traumatizing time we ve had here.We re also on day 2 of our stay (Also not knowing when we ll be discharged) and the communication in the hospital has been horrible. While the DAY nurses are AMAZING at keeping you as comfortable possible the doctors and lab technicians have not been. We re constantly having to go back over paperwork that has the wrong information, the doctor only came in the morning and never came back to let us know how long we have to stay or what the game plan was.

Daughter has been in and out for Liver Cancer all the nurses are amazing make the my wife and I more comfortable with the situation were in and make it better for my daughter as well. Cafeteria prices are amazing definitely easier for a family who is hurting financially to eat if they are admitted plus they give the family 12 dollars a day to help with food cost at the Cafeteria as well
