I attended this facility when I was a child. I wanted help and went of my own will. Over my stay I was isolated, refused calls, assaulted, and the faculty committed illegal acts. I m begging you, if you love your child, don t send them here. I have ptsd from my experience. I was isolated for weeks with food only every other day, and it was usually an apple or banana not actual meals. Faculty heard me say I wanted to call and report them and the next day they took down all of the help line signs with the phone number. Why would you do that if you aren t doing anything wrong? I have so many horror stories from my experiences here. Don t let your child experience the same please

I would give 0 stars if I could! This place is absolutely HORRIBLE! My son was there 3.5 days and we could not pull him fast enough! DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!! He was given some medication that he asked what it was, the nurses response was "it's what you take at home." I requested a list of what medicines they were giving him and so many things were on there that I did NOT authorize. When I called and spoke to the nurse, Stephanie, she REFUSED to tell me what they were giving my son. She said she wasn't able to give me that information! When emailing the head of nursing/admissions, Pat, she claimed it was what I provided but it was not even the same color as what I provided. There are so many inconsistencies and miscommunications from day 1. No one is on the same page about anything. My son stated that if he refused to take the medication that he didn't know what it was, he wouldn't get a snack that day and he would be placed on a "meal restriction" list!Once we arrived at Bridges to discharge our son, we were in the parking lot for over an hour, calling nonstop and they refused to answer the phone. I ended up calling LPD to assist with discharging my son, once 3, yes THREE, officers arrived, and I emailed Pat again letting her know I had been there and no one would answer the phone, someone FINALLY came to the door. My son has been home a couple hours now and keeps saying he feels drugged up. This is NOT how my son acts, this is not how he reacts to the medicine he should be taking at night. I don't know what they gave my son while there but will be requesting his records from his short stay.PLEASE don't send your kids here for mental health help! I promise they will come out worse than when they went in!I will say, my sons therapist, Austin, was great! No complaints at all with her!

Accepted Insurance

Centra Bridges Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Virginia is a short term form of talk therapy. Participants usually have homework between sessions, which may include journaling, self talk, and setting SMART goals. The aim is to transform negative thought patterns into positive ones.

For those experiencing mental health challenges, including substance use disorder, dialectical behavior therapy in Virginia offers an evidence based method of treatment. This therapy teaches skills for emotional regulation and interpersonal relations so you can break free from negative patterns.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Absolutely nightmarish place! I went here for a year and a half and have never recovered! I was slammed into walls, screamed at daily, told to fight other kids, and had meals withheld. It s been 10 years and it still haunts me. SENDING A KID HERE IS SIGNING THEIR MENTAL HEALTH AWAY!!!!

Great program with supportive doctors, therapists, and staff. I would recommend Bridges to any parent seeking a residential facility for their child. Your adolescent/teen will be in good hands. You can work with your child's therapist and really be a part of the treatment team.

This is a wonderful place! The staff works with the families to make sure your child is receiving what they need. And also helps out families that have to drive far with somewhere to stay while they visit with their child and handle any business in regards to your childs treatment. Dr. Hendrickson is a amazing. He listens to the child and the parents in regards to what ever they may have a concern with and medication management. The absolute BEST treatment center I have seen in the last 8 years! Hands down! This would be my first choice if my family member ever had to be placed again. Thanks for everything Bridges!!!!! <3 It is because of you all that my family is moving forward in the right direction!!!!
