About Cenikor Foundation

Cenikor provides behavioral health services for adults in Fort Worth, Texas. They cover the full spectrum of care, starting with detox services or inpatient treatment and continuing all the way to outpatient services and aftercare. They accept self payment, private insurance, and military benefits. They also offer financial assistance.

Their detox program helps clients remove harmful substances from their bodies before they begin their recovery journey. The center keeps an eye on clients during this process and can provide medical treatment and medication to help with withdrawal symptoms. They let clients choose if they want to detox at home under medical supervision or at their inpatient facility.

Clients who struggle with opioids or alcohol can continue approved medications over a longer timeframe. This helps manage cravings and reduce the chances of relapse during treatment.

The length of inpatient treatment can vary, but all clients receive counseling, addiction education, life skills training, and access to 12 step groups. They’ll also have the chance to socialize and connect with their peers. When they’re ready to transition to outpatient care, they can receive the same services but will be able to live at home.

The most intensive level of outpatient treatment is the partial hospitalization program, which usually requires them to attend counseling five days a week for about six hours each day. Their general outpatient program is more flexible and clients can even set up telehealth appointments to log in from home. Once they’re ready to leave the program, clients can work with their team to create a discharge plan. They’ll have access to alumni resources for two years, including one on one coaching sessions.

inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

24-hour clinical care in Texas provides a safe environment for medical detox. This setting is crucial to provide medical care during withdrawal. Certain withdrawal symptoms can cause life-threatening conditions, but patients in a supervised clinical setting have treatment readily available to address any symptoms before they become severe. Treatment can also be provided for co-occurring physical and mental health issues.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Ridding the body of harmful, addictive substances, also known as detoxification, is usually the first phase of recovery. Those going through medically assisted detox can be administered medications by a team of medical professionals who are on-site 24/7 to provide different types of therapies that help mitigate withdrawal symptoms.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Texas is to change thought patterns, which leads to changes in behavior. Specific techniques during CBT can include self talk, SMART goals, journaling, and positive activities.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Treatment that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach focuses on four strategies. Distress tolerance will help you accept and tolerate intense emotions. Emotional regulation will teach you to manage those emotions. Mindfulness will keep you in the present moment instead of regret or worry. Interpersonal effectiveness will teach you to manage your relationships.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Therapy sessions that incorporate motivational interviewing focus on OARS: open questions, affirmation, reflections, and summarizing. This facilitates an exchange of information and an empowering of the client to decide for themselves what changes might need to be made in their lives.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Together with an experienced trauma therapist, you work on healing emotional wounds from traumatic experiences within a trauma therapy environment. Your therapist will help you process the experience of the trauma, which promotes emotional healing and improves your overall mental health.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

When used as recommended, nicotine replacement therapy in Texas provides enough nicotine to help you avoid severe cravings and withdrawal symptoms after quitting smoking. This increases comfort so you're less likely to relapse into your smoking habit.

I went there and it was a joke had nothing todo with recovery just work, games , people telling on one another and staff yelling and belittling you in front of the community. You could not even talk to females without a aware person so I was kicked out on lies and the girl I was talking to was kicked out 2 months later and we been married for 20 years now that s the only good thing about this place is I meet my wife and still going strong.

Response from the owner1 year ago
Hi Raymond - We thank you for your feedback, and are sorry you had a negative experience. We do value key components to recovery such as accountability and learning to be vulnerable with your own gender; however, staff should not behave in the way you have described. Thank you again for sharing this with us.

I was recommended this place for my wife and her addictions. I ve called several times because I was told this place can help. My insurance doesn t cover substance abuse, so getting my wife into rehab has been a challenge. Desperately seeking help and not getting it. I swear the system is broken. I ve called cenikor and was on hold for quite a while, so I did the option of leaving my number for a call back.......nothing!!If y all would answer the phone please

I graduated from cenikor in 1987. It was a 2 and a half year program, in ft.worth. it was tough, but well worth it!... I've learned so much from cenikor, it made me a better person.. you must realize, after you take the drugs away you now have behavior problems that must be corrected. I got my GED while I was there. Mad job skills, for instance, I work public relations, financial development, account Receivable, silk screenings and reception.. it tought me how to live life on life terms without the use and drugs and alcohol .. So if your looking for a easy way out or a.quick oil change, well then cenikor is not for you. ONLY for the serious.. One.more thing, out of 159 residentsf 12 were women... I was the 3rd female who has ever graduated cenikor from the time they opened up to 1987, and I'm damn proud of it!.

If you really want sobriety, Cenikor will supply all a person needs to succeed in life without using. The people who dont make it thru program usually have not hit rock bottom and have every excuse imaginable to justify leaving the program. I was not stipulated by the court, I went on my own and out of almost 100 people, there were only 4 of us who graduated. I've been clean since July 25, 2005 and I owe Cenikor my life!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

Response from the owner4 years ago
