Read the end for my edit!So far everything has been really good. This is the first practice I've been to where the doctors and staff atleast seem to care. Dr Z has a much better understanding of how the medication works compared to other doctors I've seen at different practices. My counselor Woody has also been great. I've only been going here for 4 months so it's possible I have the wrong impression, but so far they just really seem to understand the nature of addiction.Edit: This practice did a 180 after being bought out by brightview. I had 4 years clean and was doing great atRight path, then they were bought out by Brightview. After being stable and having 4 years of clean tests they would no longer prescribe me my anti anxiety medication. Brightview literally has put surveillance cameras in the bathroom which you must face with your pants down. This was the last straw. I came here for treatment for a medical condition, not to be treated like a criminal in a probation/parole office. Stay away from this place if you want to be treated like a human being. The doctors are no longer allowed to use their medical knowledge/opinions/experience to give you the best individual care/treatment possible. All treatment decisions are made by a corporation and the Dr's no longer have any autonomy. How this doesn't violate their oath I have no clue as people's health/lives are on the line here. 90% of their staff and doctors have quit due to the Brightview switch. "Brightview" is concerned with one thing only... MONEY! They are profiteering on the opioid epidemic by stopping individual treatment plans that have kept myself and others clean for years. All my problems started the second right path turned to brightview. Right was was a millions better and didn't treat people with medical conditions like crminials.

Gunter, thank you for the nice review. As of late 2021, Right Path has partnered with BrightView so patients should expect an even better experience. If there is anything we can do to help, please let us know!

Accepted Insurance

BrightView Virginia Beach Addiction Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Known as the first step of the addiction recovery process, medical detox is the removal of addictive drugs and alcohol from your body and helping manage physical withdrawal. Medically assisted detox takes place in an inpatient setting where you will be closely monitored by a team of medical professionals to ensure your maximum health and safety. Medications like Suboxone or Vivitrol may be administered if needed to alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. This process is typically at least partially covered by most insurance plans.

Clinical Services

I am a patient at the Chesapeake office , honestly since they have changed from Right path to BrightView , it is a terrible experience, staff always changes , policy's and procedures constantly changing according to the new provider, it can be frustrating, not the worst experience, but has went downhill from my start

Saved my life, gave me a life, life is lifey, i ended up utilizing the sublocade shot which has totally changed my thinking of having to wake up and take a strip which allows my brain to almost totally erase thinking about opiates to the point I forget I m in recovery which honestly cured a lot of anxiety,.

Brightview's acquisition of Right Path has been absolutely disastrous in my experience. I am no longer provided psych treatment/med MGMT and can't find a mental health care provider that is able or willing to take on my dual diagnosis. Brightview stopped prescribing a first line medication that changed my life. I went from sober, top of my class, and a great job right out of college. Now I am struggling to completely daily tasks or even remember dates. I'm using again and have ended up in the hospital twice since they stopped prescribing a med I desperately need. There is no continuity of care here. I haven't seen the same doctor in nearly a year now, and the doctors I do see, seem apathetic and ready to get me out of the door (or offline.. considering telehealth contractors they use in office). Wait times are ridiculous. There is no reason I should be waiting TWO HOURS after my scheduled appt time.Having a camera in the bathroom of a substance use disorder treatment center is unprofessional and may raise several serious issues:Privacy Violations: Bathrooms are universally recognized as private spaces. Installing a camera violates this basic expectation of privacy.Legal and Ethical Concerns: Depending on the jurisdiction, it could be illegal to record someone in such private settings. This could lead to legal repercussions for the facility.Trust and Comfort: In a treatment setting, it's crucial for patients to feel safe and trust the institution. Surveillance in private spaces can erode this trust.Impact on Treatment Efficacy: Knowing they are being surveilled in private spaces might make patients uncomfortable, potentially impacting the effectiveness of their treatment.Potential for Abuse: Recorded footage of people in vulnerable states could be misused, leading to further ethical and legal complications.Public Image and Reputation: Such practices can harm the reputation of the treatment center, deterring potential patients from seeking help there.Regulatory Compliance: This practice may also violate health privacy laws like HIPAA in the United States, leading to regulatory issues. It's important for treatment centers to balance the need for security with respect for individual privacy and legal requirements. Alternative measures, such as regular checks by staff, might be more appropriate for ensuring safety without infringing on privacy.
