About Bradford Health Services – Huntsville

Bradford Health Services - Huntsville is an addiction treatment provider with a facility in Huntsville, Alabama. They use evidence based treatments with the goal of helping individuals and their families have long term recovery from addiction. Their services available include an intensive outpatient program (IOP), medication assisted treatment (MAT) and alcohol and drug education classes. The medications that are used for MAT are naltrexone and buprenorphine. They also offer family support services and an aftercare program. Telehealth treatment is available for clients who don’t live near the rehab center. Bradford Health Services is in network with most insurance providers but does offer alternative forms of payment, including a loan program and credit card options.

The intensive outpatient program provides morning and evening sessions throughout the week. Clients will receive treatment multiple times a week to address issues related to relapse prevention and identifying emotional and environmental triggers. Patients will receive individual therapy from a licensed therapist and participate in group therapy, where they will share experiences with others who are recovering. When clients have successfully completed the program, they can begin participating in the continuing care program.

Individuals will connect with a support group that’s led by a Bradford facilitator on a weekly basis. The program also gives patients access to the alumni network and other resources to help with maintaining sobriety and living a healthy lifestyle. In the alcohol and drug education classes, clients will learn about risk factors and problems related to substance use. Confidential consultation is also provided to individuals experiencing damaging consequences related to drug or alcohol use.

This place is dangerous for women to be at. They do a horrible job separating the men from women and the men were always hitting on me. They started putting men on our hall, there were some nights that only 1 tech was there. We were very outnumbered. Feeling safe is one of the most important things in a treatment setting, especially for women dealing with trauma. I did not feel safe at all. I was only going here to detox for 10 days and move onto my actual treatment center. They held me there for THREE WEEKS. Saying they would do all the blood work and EKG I needed to get into the next place. They would tell me I had appts to do them then never take me. I was there from out of state and I felt trapped because I desperately needed to go the other rehab. Their detox is a joke. They let me lay down for a day and expected me to be up early and going to classes and groups. That makes a hard situation worse when you feel miserable. One of the nurses gave me medication that wasn t mine and covered it up when he realized it. Told me not to tell anyone and he wouldn t either. This is the absolute worst place I have ever been to, rehab or not. I cried when I got to the car to leave. The building and rooms are GROSS. I could go on and on. Do not go here or send a loved one.

I was recently a patient. I took something very sentimental and they lost it. I even emailed the director and didn't even get a response. Staff is not trained properly. The patients basically run the place.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
As patients progress in adult and adolescent treatment, the risk of relapse lessens and the patient is able to return home. He or she must continue to work under closely monitored conditions in Bradford’s Intensive Outpatient Program. Several times per week, patients attend special sessions designed to treat their continual risk of relapse and environmental stressors. Less critical emotional stressors are treated as well. When appropriate, some patients actually enter treatment through the Intensive Outpatient Program, as it is also designed to help those in the early stages of chemical dependency.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab is designed primarily for clients exiting detox, people in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Participants reside at the rehab facility until they complete their treatment program. This allows them to focus solely on their recovery, away from outside distractions, stressors, and addiction triggers. Inpatient drug rehab typically involves extensive addiction counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and complementary therapies.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are designed to provide support to you after completing an addiction treatment program. These programs are highly customized and evolve with your changing needs. You'll partner with staff at the treatment center to identify any specific medical, behavioral, and social services needed to support your sustained sobriety. Aftercare services may include peer coaching, career counseling, and other personalized support.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Alabama provides medical or psychotherapeutic treatment for drug dependency. Methods of treatment often include a combination of medication, counseling, and recreational therapies.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual therapy for drug and alcohol addiction involves one on one sessions with a therapist to address the psychological and behavioral aspects of addiction. Your therapist may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or Motivational Interviewing to help you develop coping strategies and work towards long term sobriety.

They prescribed. E ao many drug combinations that weren't necessary. I trusted them but they nearly killed me. This is a terrible facility. The people in there with you might help more than the staff. You're just basically sitting around smoking cigarettes and hanging out with the guys. No structure, there's no 12 step program which is outrageous. Don't waste your time and money when better help is available.

Please do not seek help at Bradford or send your loved one s here. All they care about is money. This is a warning you shouldn t ignore. There are other places that actually care about you, but this place is not it. I wish I could give this horrible place negative stars.
