Heart icon Treatment at Baptist Rehab Centers – Outpatient

book iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

prescription iconDrug Addiction

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

head-side-medical iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

file-medical iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

prescription-bottle-pill iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

bed-front iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

house-medical iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Couples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Family Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

I spent 3 days inpatient recently on the 5th floor. All of the nursing and support staff were wonderful, kind and genuinely caring. It's evident that all the staff care about what they do and genuinely enjoy helping people. I'd like to make special mention of one nurse, Susana. She cared about me as an individual person. She made sure to write down the names of staff who would be interacting with me that day and any plans for the day. She explained to me the medications I was receiving. She made sure she understood what my needs were and when I started getting better and became a less urgent patient, she stopped frequently to ask how I was and if I needed anything-or wanted anything. She brought me an ice pop and it was just so sweet. I felt very human and cared about. It's easy for patients to feel like they are out of the loop in regards to their own care during a hospital stay, but that was not my experience here.

My daughter was recently admitted here with pneumonia. We went to the ER, Peds and PICU and every single staff member was simply outstanding but Dr. Rogelio Garcia in PICU was Godsend my daughter had a different kind of pneumonia and she wasn t responding to treatments but Dr. Garcia was able to diagnose the type of pneumonia that she had and he was quick to start her treatments and he save my daughter! I will forever be grateful to Dr. Garcia he was simply amazing! All the nurses, respiratory therapist and techs were amazing as well! Thank you for everything!

My wife and I decided to deliver out baby at this hospital. WE HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE BOTH DURING DELIVERY AND DURING THE BILLING PROCESS. Without getting into too much detail, they messed up her epidural causing her to have a spinal headache that lasted for 12 hours. The Dr. on call did not come to visit her after we repletely told them how much this was hurting her until 12 hours after contacting them while staying in their hospital. Among the many things, their post-op for C-Sections was only 25min instead of 2 hours. THE STANDARD for C-Section procedures is 2 hours MINIMUM. They only had us in post op for 25 min. This put my wife at serious risk even though we had no idea! (We spoke with our OBGYN afterwards and they were in disbelief of their practice). After all this, billing was terrible...... They charged us for 2 epidurals (even though they messed the first one up and the Dr admitted it in the room with us!!!) and the blood patch (which again, was caused by the messed up epidural.) I had to fight tooth and nail to get this charge removed for their mistake!Them come to find out that our bill was moved to collections while I was disputing the charges!!!!!! This messed up our CREDIT SCORE!I cannot say enough things to not come here for delivery, they were unsafe, terrible to work with and their billing department is 2 faced (they tell you not to worry then send your bills to collection and mess up your credit after having a new born baby).
