outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. Their outpatient programs deliver medically supervised treatment in a variety of modalities and settings to meet the unique and specific needs of each individual. They combine evidence-based, medication assisted treatment with counseling and behavioral services in order to offer a full recovery to their patients.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs approach recovery as a life-long process that requires robust, individualized, and ongoing care. Clients in drug rehab aftercare have typically completed detox and intensive inpatient treatment and are weeks or months into their recovery journey. These programs are designed to promote clients' continued sobriety through a comprehensive portfolio of services aligned with the clients' evolving needs. Peer coaching, career counseling, and relapse prevention services are standard in these continuing care programs.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Rehab centers often provide intervention services to help facilitate smooth transitions to treatment. These services help families plan drug interventions in Vermont that are designed to encourage a loved one to get the help they need. Intervention services also help family members get the recovery services they need, regardless of whether the intervention convinces the individual to enter rehab.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

I, personally, do not battle addiction. However, I have multiple family members who have been here for treatment. This place is a joke! If you value your lives, freedom or loved ones, please keep searching. They DO NOT have your best interests at heart. Being in control seems to be more important.

They to use the meds as a punishment too often. I've seen too many of my friends go back to the dr*gs. It's discouraging when you take 2 steps forward only to go back 15. Plus even after the fed min 2 years compliance there, they only give u 13 take homes of methadone when in reality you are legally allowed to get 28 but their "policy" doesn't allow. NO! they want you handcuffed there and going up and up on a dose! Dependent on the meds & them for your freedom/life since they know we can't live w/o this $hit. Callbacks are a joke and even if you're clean years you get same punishment as every other daily user would.

Hi there, we are sorry you did not have a positive experience. We value your feedback and want to thank you for taking the time to share it. The medication-assisted treatment program follows stringent rules regarding dispensing methadone. The clients may be denied to take home doses if they have failed to demonstrate the 8 criteria to be eligible for take-home doses. The criteria for take-home doses are discussed with clients and doctors to determine eligibility. Please contact our clinic director at (802) 334-0110 to discuss any other concerns further.

The employees that are currently providing services to those who request it, i believe are about diligence, and take pride in assisting and helping a person find out and learn about themselves in a new way, help to set up a plan for sobriety that works for each individual's needs. I personally find this place has a kind and caring staff, which is what some need at the point in life when they decide to be clean and sober. To start living life again! The counselors there must feel a tremendous sense of responsibility, and i feel deserve to be appreciated for all of their hard work and invested time and emotions involved. I personally thank all of you...and of course the wonderfully friendly, caring nurses.
