Only giving one star because it wouldn't let me leave a comment without at least one. But I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They hardly ever answer the phones and almost always have an attitude they cancel appointments without letting you know. They tell you when you show up for the appointment that they have canceled. This is supposed to be a place to help people but instead it always made my depression and anxiety worse knowing that I had to go in there. I am just so relieved that I don't have to go back.

Accepted Insurance

Avita Community Partners – Ridge Drive works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober living homes in Georgia offers an alternative to the abrupt change of moving from intensive treatment to an unstructured home environment. Men's and women's sober living homes replicate everyday life situations, but they do so in a sober environment while also reinforcing healthy habits. This reduces the chance of relapse. Individuals who could use extra support after rehab or don't have a stable home environment can benefit from this transitional option.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Georgia is designed to encourage an individual to get the treatment they need. This effort aims to break through resistance and motivate the individual to get help. The process typically involves loved ones sharing their concerns with the individual and how their substance use has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist can help guide this conversation and explain from the clinical side how treatment can be beneficial.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

child-program thumbnail image

seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

While cognitive behavioral therapy in Georgia is unique for each person, this therapy follows a standard structure that has proven effective. Clients first learn about their substance use disorder, then learn and practice techniques such as coping, stress management, and resilience to change their thought and behavior patterns.

While each person is unique, the typical length for dialectical behavior therapy is six months to a year. You'll attend weekly hour long individual sessions with your therapist, as well as weekly group sessions. Homework between sessions often includes keeping a diary to track your emotions and behaviors. Your therapist uses this diary to guide the focus of each session.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

The skills you learn in couples therapy are designed to help you successfully address relationship challenges as they arise. These skills can include anger management, conflict resolution, communication, and problem solving.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety. In case the patient have a serious mental illness or a addictive disease, Avita personnel and Peer Support Specialists offer help managing daily activities such as coordinating medical care, food planning, budgeting skills, and more. Assistance with fulfilling vocational or employment goals is also available.

Nutrition therapy has short term and long term goals. In the short term, it helps restore your health so you can recover from the physical effects of addiction. Long term, it helps you understand overall health and nutrition to set you up for a healthy lifestyle in recovery.

My significant other called ahead of time and was told to become a patient that he would need to do a walk-in anytime before lunch Monday through Thursday. He arrived around 9. The receptionist at the front rolled her eyes at him and told him he wouldn't be seen as this was policy to arrive before 8 a.m. She refused to accommodate him or even give him the paperwork needed to get his first appointment. She was extremely rude and told him she couldn't help him and he'd have to come back. He left in tears. When a person is seeking mental health help the staff should be kind and courteous. God forbid he was suicidal as this may have led to disastrous consequences. I strongly advise you take your business elsewhere.

Never had a place for therapy that makes me worse, so that's a new one. My partner took the day off work, we still have to take care of our pets this morning and showed up at 9 instead of 8 and the lady at the front desk was demeaning and rude, extremely passive aggressive. They only want to help you if you have money so if you have money and don't mind rude people, this place may be for you.

I have been being treated here for nearly 5 years. The care was exceptional if you keep your appointments.Today I was excommunicated from Avita because I mentioned to my counselor that I had catastrophic health insurance that does not cover my mental care. I was immediately told that because of this, Avita will no longer treat me.If I had lied to my counselor and said that I had no insurance whatsoever, they would have continued to treat me.I feel like I am being punished for my honesty, & I don't know how good care can be administered under these circumstances. I am going to let my insurance lapse next year, & go back in January with no insurance.I should not have to lie to providers to get care I can afford.

I called several weeks ago, around 6-8 weeks and have left messages and still today I haven't received one call. I am not impressed that they won't help my son with medications needed, only councilling. I feel like they don't care that he's suffering mentally and it's pretty bad when a person needs help and they can't receive it due to these people not willing to listen or trying to understand what or why he needs their help. They are suppose to help people, not neglect them and their needs!! He has been off antidepressants now for days and you aren't suppose to stop cold turkey or run out. I guess they would rather see people live in psychiatric wards, than live out on their own. They need ro be reported for negligence. What's the point of being open if no help is provided? Money most likely.

I can't say enough good about this organization. My brother started treatment here 5+ years ago. He experienced substance abuse, could not hold a job, suffered extreme paranoia, and hallucinated about the neighbors trying to do us harm. It took a few months to see real improvement, but it came. 5 years later, he has held a job for 4 years. No longer hallucinates, and is generally pleasant and enjoys life. We suffered for years before we found this place. Highly recommend for those suffering with paranoid personality disorder
