Accepted Insurance

Avenues Recovery Center: Drug & Alcohol Rehab In Bucks Pennsylvania works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
The intensive outpatient program, or IOP, is an addiction recovery treatment that provides intensive clinical therapy and counseling. Patients will maintain freedom of employment and life responsibilities. IOP is a treatment option for those who have been able to establish abstinence and recovery or as part of a step-down from residential or PHP. IOP helps patients continue to develop recovery skills and incorporates additional educational and therapy such as leadership training, relapse prevention, and communication skills. While attending Avenues Recovery center’s IOP, a client will spend 3-4 hours per day, 3 days a week in our treatment center but will be able to focus on their work and family life as well. Avenues Recovery Center customizes a program for each client to ensure a seamless path to recovery.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Traditional outpatient therapy is recommended as a maintenance tool for those who have graduated higher levels of care and are exhibiting sobriety. Avenues Recovery center OP program consists of one individual session and/or one group session per week. Avenues Recovery center customizes an individual program for each client to promote a flexible schedule for a seamless balance of life and recovery, so the length of stay will depend on each individual’s specific needs.
inpatient iconInpatient
When individuals receive treatment in an inpatient setting, they are, first and foremost, entering a safe environment where they are monitored around-the-clock by trained professionals. In this setting, the obstacles, complications, and stressors of everyday life are removed so that individuals are able to place all of their energy and focus on recovering and becoming well again. Clients enter residential treatment, sometimes known as inpatient treatment, once they are medically cleared and their withdrawal symptoms have stabilized. Residential clients at Avenues Recovery Center are monitored 24/7 and our staff ensures they are safe, actively involved in their treatment and attending regular group and individual therapy sessions.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living allows individuals in recovery to feel like they are easing back into normal life and can start going back to their daily tasks and responsibilities. Although sober living homes are less restrictive than inpatient facilities, they still have rules that residents must abide by, including curfews, drug testing, and group meeting attendance. Residents must follow house rules and are required to complete chores, prepare meals, and actively participate in house meetings. Avenues Recovery Center has the prestige and honor of partnering with Crosswalk Sober Living hosted by the renowned Dominic DiAntonio. Dominic moved out of his own home and into Crosswalk to be hands on with each and every person that begins their recovery with us at Avenues.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
A medical detox is the safest way to wean your body off drugs and/or alcohol in an inpatient setting. When detoxing from addictive substances, the physical and psychological side effects of withdrawal can cause mood swings, anxiety, nausea, or flu-like symptoms. In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals are on hand 24/7 to help alleviate potential withdrawal symptoms, administer medications to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, and ultimately keep you safe and comfortable throughout this process.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Joshua colegrove1/4/2025May 31st 2024 I began my journey into recovery from alcoholism and substance abuse. This was a life long battle for me since my early 20's. I am now 40. I did 35 days In residential at avenues in lake Ariel which is stabilization period Before going to a 6 month program at avenues bucks county php and IOP to see and be cared for by the most caring and loving, knowledgeable, dependable and down right compassionate go to the ends and back for clients type staff and counselors. While at avenues of bucks county I had the opportunity to really dig deep and find who I really am in life as I have been lost in addiction for 20 years with the help of my counselor cristi brown. Cristi is one of the most intelligent, caring and passionate person when it comes to her clients and addiction/recovery and will dig deep and go to the moon and back to support, and make sure no pages are unturned. Highly recommend all of the counselors there warren, who is very passionate also about recovering speaks from the heart and lives his clients.also to mention Mike as he was very helpful and caring and would talk to you and care for you even if he wasnt your counselor. Joyce,Alex and the two new counselors are very great also I personally didn't get to work with them but from all I've seen and in there group sessions they are truly sincerely passionate and go over and beyond for there clients as well. Big shout out to the boss man himself Joe Kane!!! Then there is Marisa wall the caseworker there who helped me with all my financial and insurance for disability and everything in a timely manner, very professional to say the least. Shout out to Alyssa Brennan for all her hard work and dedication as well. For being the alumni coordinator and making sure that when your program is up and you. Graduate there is still room for alumni to stay connected to clients and staff and hold alumni meetings. It's like your truly still a part of the most wonderful program and facility ever. Shout out to Lori the intake coordinator along with Tim they both make each person feel welcome and made me very comfortable and at ease in such a scary and anxious and unknown state of mind upon arriving. Also would like to say Shawn the pnr there and arty were the best medical providers that I've ever seen at a rehabilitation center. I'd also like to say that the behavioral health technicians are truly just as amazing, Loving and caring and protective of the clients from getting them to meeting everyday and being another support network they truly go beyond what there job entitles. Thank you Pat the house manager. And Mike Paul Javon Austin Colton and chick for everything you have ever done for me. i am forever grateful. Upon leaving and completing the program cristi insured that I had a steady job in place as well as a full and completely honest plan for after care. I highly recommend avenues recovery center for any person in any situation of addiction as they are far more then just a rehabilitation center. It's a place to call home while your there because it has that nice comfortable and at home feeling with a sense of warmth and true community and love for all.!! Thanks you again all of you at avenues of bucks I will forever be grateful for everything and helping me live a clean and sober life and most importantly you helped me "FIND MY WAY HOME"

I was admitted while being on crutches with a broken ankle. Everything worked out ok. Staff and other patients helped. Food was ok and Alyssa was amazing in helping me with my attorney/ family court. The problem was I was expecting the same treatment from Marisa which never happened. She lied to me and was rude more than once towards me regarding bills and contact information i needed. She dragged her feet in communicating with my insurance company. Ariel was a good recovery place but they never were completely honest either. They called home insisting on continued care at bucks. Kind of blindsided. Although for me it was a good idea but sneaky how they worked that. I would definitely recommend Avenues to anyone that needs recovery. Avenues does not close the door on you. They will take you back . I like Joe Kane and they way he carries a session.Avenues provides a life full of opportunities and the recovery in bucks Co is unmatched for someone to start over. I see alot of growth happening in regards to that IOP housing . With ups and downs I feel A venues was the right place for me. Joe at Ruckman Paul Pat is big and intimidating but he is on it and makes things happen. I miss my family there. I believe I met life friendships There is always room for improvement. I felt comfortable, safe, and structured while going to clinical and the AA meetings in the evening I am grateful for the opportunity and availability Avenues had for me. I truly believe avenues is one of the best around rating in my mind a 7.5 overall as a total THANK YOU AVENUES !!!!!!

I fought the process until I realized that I was only fighting myself. I was desperate when I came through this program and I feel like if you want the best possible results you need to have some notion of desperation. The road isn t easy or always fun- I know I fought the process for a long time, but if you sit down for the recommended 6months and are open and willing to sit down and take a hard look at yourself and where you are in life. There will be a change in your life.
