About Arista Recovery: Addiction Treatment Center In Kansas

Arista Recovery Overland Park is an alcohol and drug rehab in Overland Park, Kansas. They provide partial hospitalization programs (PHPs), intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), and outpatient treatment for alcohol, drugs, opioids, trauma, and dual diagnosis. Johnson County residents benefit from comprehensive, evidence based services coupled with holistic therapies. Family programs and medication assisted treatment (MAT) are also available.

Their PHP is for clients stepping down from inpatient rehab or starting treatment in outpatient care. Their program focuses on the client as a whole to achieve long term recovery, combining evidence based therapeutic interventions with alternative therapies. Clients can live at home while participating in individual and group sessions, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), educational therapy, and experiential therapy. They also offer horticultural, equine, art, synergistic, and sand tray therapy.

Their IOP provides in depth care for clients who want to live at home while in treatment. Clients can access similar treatment as their PHP with lower weekly attendance requirements.

People who want to reside at home while seeking treatment often attend outpatient rehab. Clients benefit from similar therapeutic interventions as their other programs at a lower intensity.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients the chance to participate in a structured treatment plan part-time while they transition back to home and work or other responsibilities.

aftercare iconAftercare

Clients in a rehab aftercare program typically have completed intensive inpatient treatment but may be receiving outpatient care. Many have concluded outpatient treatment as well and are in the maintenance phase of their recovery. Rehab aftercare services are designed to provide a full continuum of care as clients apply their recovery skills at home, in the workplace, and in the community. Clients typically receive peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step recovery program induction, among other services.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Sober living homes in Kansas offers a balance of freedom, structure, and accountability to provide a safe environment where individuals in recovery can practice maintaining a sober lifestyle. Recovery homes, also called halfway houses, typically include daily chores, set meal times, curfews, and required 12-step meeting attendance. This setting can be beneficial for those who need additional support after treatment before returning home.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Multiple intervention services are available to families who are facing addiction. Intervention specialists can help families plan and carry out a drug intervention in Kansas. They can also help families identify behaviors and family dynamics that are contributing to the problem. The expert can guide families in healthier communication patterns. This professional can also help each family member with their own recovery, regardless of how the addicted individual responds to the family's intervention efforts.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers short-term intensive rehab for those who don't require 24-hour care. Often known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program allows individuals to receive treatment during the day and return home in the evening. The duration of PHP treatment is flexible, allowing you to actively engage in daily 4-6 hour sessions, at least 5 days a week, for an average of 90 days. PHP treatment encompasses a range of evidence-based therapies and other behavioral therapy interventions.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

Detox treatment varies, but it always involves 24-hour clinical care in Kansas. This supervision is necessary to ensure a safe detox process. Time frame for this level of treatment depends on the severity and type of the addiction. Common time frames include 5-day detox and 7-day detox. Rapid detox programs are also available that are as short as 24 hours. Regardless of the time frame, constant supervision by experienced staff is an essential component.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Physical withdrawal can be uncomfortable, and in severe cases, it can even be dangerous. In an inpatient environment, a medically assisted detox is performed by a team of licensed medical professionals who monitor your vitals, provide medications when necessary, and ensure your safety, health, and comfort during this process. Medical detox is usually the very first step in the recovery process.

I don t really know where to begin with this review but I felt the need in my heart to speak on my experience. My intention for posting this is not intended to slander this place but I do want the people to know the truth. I WOULD NOT recommend this place to you or your loved ones, quite simply. From day 1 I had an uneasy feeling about the entire operation because of I had been to other treatment centers all over the US and it didn t compare (not in a good way). For instance, it is not a 12 step based program. No one there had been introduced to the Big Book of AA Or NA. The residential patients were kinda clueless, which shocked me. Their programming consisted of a ton of free time to smoke and enjoy your time amongst your peers. They had some educational classes but other patients had told me that they were a joke and would walk out whenever they felt like it. The thing that made me uneasy was the fact that they would never let me call my family personally. They would call my own family for me and basically lie to them about how I was doing. I had tried for days to get ONE phone call to my family and they always pushed it aside. I had wanted to check myself out bc the detox was NOT helpful. So one day I had to take it upon myself to go to the main floor and basically sneak a phone call to my mom while the desk lady was away. And needless to say, the employees were pissed that I had gotten in contact with my mom and told her about my poor experience and how I was basically being held against my will. They didn t want to give me my belongings after I signed a 4 hour notice. One lady came from behind me and grabbed the phone from me and began to tell my mom that she didn t know what I was talking about. But my mom had already heard what I had to say and THANKFULLY, drove an hour to come and save me from this place. I don t know how successful they are with other clients sobriety but I just didn t understand how they couldn t have any sort of structure whatsoever (AA, NA, CA, SMART Recovery, etc.) I just hope people DO NOT make the same mistakes I did and do their research before thinking about going to this place. God Bless those reading this and may you find the proper place to start your recovery journey bc I personally know how tough it can be. Everyone s journey is different so take this review as you may. Just wanted to share my experience with this place. Unfortunate that I couldn t provide a better review but you live and you learn.

This program is a an absolute sham. I would give it negative stars if I could. They provide almost none of the services they claim to offer- there is not a single medical doctor available whatsoever at any point in your treatment here, there is no assistance once completing the program/ Alumni Meeting , the counselors have almost no practical understanding of addiction or personal experience with it, and all you do is spend three hours three times a week crammed into a very small room with too many people than should fit in said room(which causes it to become very hot with minimal air conditioning or ventilation), you are all sitting in uncomfortable plastic chairs, being forced to take turns reading from a print out packet that covers the most basic coping skills and assessments of addiction available the entire time. You are far better off seeking help through local AA or Smart Recovery programs that are offered for free, if possible, or using any other Outpatient IOP program available.

Current Inpatient resident who would like to say I came with much trepidation and anxiety. All of which I was able to shed easily on account of the staff and friendly fellow residents. Not in any small part because of Kerry (think I spelled that right) in detox, because she is @$$@ ing hilarious, and made me feel a lot better. I mean, guys, it s rehab.. ;) But this is a very good rehab. Admins listen.
