This is the best mental health provider I have had. I met the owner at one point and she is beyond knowledgeable on medication and finding the right therapist/therapy style. After a year of being a patient my mental and physical health was better than it had been in years.

A treatment program that cares more about the patients than their bottom line. They always answer their phones and offer a variety of treatment services that treats the person in totality. Highly recommmend!

Mediocre therapy center. "when things aren't well with my husband or family, therapy tends to be more about me than my client." That is what my therapist told me 2x in person. How unprofessional! I was paying $112 an hour at the time. I left a vm for the office manager Amanda at the time and never got a call back. Since I got unprofessional treatment, an object thrown at me and sarcasm in therapy; I want to know if I could get some of my money back. Apparently you cannot report a therapist to the state of Utah that is an intern who is pursuing their masters degree. If the office management does not address the "interns" unethical behavior, how many other patients are experiencing poor treatment? I am calling by regence blue cross to describe my experience with Alpine centers.

Accepted Insurance

Alpine Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Alpine Centers’ Outpatient Treatment Services are designed for those who struggle with addiction but must meet the demands of a busy lifestyle. Group and individual treatment sessions are tailored around their schedule. They have morning and evening sessions that are focused on designing and implementing strategies to prevent relapse and support long term sobriety.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. They provide care for those diagnosed with mental health and addiction disorders. Treatment can involve prescribing the use on medications such as Suboxone, Vivitrol, Campral, and other medications as necessary. They also provide safe effective medically monitored detox programs to assist in coming off of addictive substances.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it’s important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Alpine Center provides lifetime support after completion of treatment through their free, weekly Aftercare Group. They also provide free support groups for those on medications such as Suboxone, and a free Family and Friends Support Group for the loved ones of addicted clients.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you enter a drug rehab in Utah, the process usually involves four stages: treatment initiation, early abstinence, maintaining abstinence, and advanced recovery. Treatment methods can rely on medications, counseling, or both, in either an outpatient or inpatient setting.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Alpine used to be an amazing addiction and recovery treatment center. I have been going to Alpine for about 12 years now. In the beginning, they were genuine and truly made it feel like they cared about helping people struggling with addiction. It truly felt like they wanted to help anyone and everyone that was seeking recovery. At one point it felt like a place full of caring doctors and therapists working together to make a difference in their patients' lives. However, over time my views have changed entirely. Many of the doctors and counselors have come and gone but I have kept going to Alpine Center even after they stopped accepting my insurance and it became a 2-hour commute for every appointment. I did this because I was grateful for them providing treatment and because I felt like it was worth it due to how much I thought they cared for the patients. Recently though, it feels like quite the opposite. They no longer seem interested in maintaining sobriety and helping their patients. More and more it feels like they are either burnt out by the difficulties that addicts present to them or they are only in it for the money. Perhaps it's both. I used to recommend others to go here for treatment but now, all I have to say is that if you want to change your life and your future and are looking for a team to support you in your journey I would suggest looking elsewhere as I am currently doing. I have nearly relapsed on multiple occasions due to circumstances outside of my control and rather than hearing me out and helping me, I was told to look at going to an ER then after paying my regular $100 co-pay my appointment was changed last minute to a phone call which was no problem until after my whole 3-minute phone conversation talking to my provider, my treatment plan was changed and my prescription frequency without even informing me. Then when calling the MA line and leaving a VM telling them about what I thought to be a mistake I did not get a return call from anyone. I finally called again after 2 weeks to again leave a VM and finally got a return call I was informed about the changes made to my treatment even though the APRN never said a word about it during our 3-minute, phone appointment that cost me $100 out of pocket. This is only one of the many issues I've encountered after being assigned to a new APRN who knows nothing about my history as a patient and doesn't seem to care to find out. Appointments are expensive and rushed and he is unwilling to work with me as a patient but will change things without informing the patient and I'm told I am not able to switch to the only other Doctor available at the clinic. If you intend to stay sober 12 years in the future and want a team that is caring, informative, and works with the patient as a team to maintain sobriety I would look elsewhere. The pain they have caused me recently has shown their mission statements and descriptions on their website are all just words and they are in it for the money. Even reaching out to the owner or director for guidance is pointless when they used to be willing to help as much as possible. I will be looking for a new provider which is a shame because I really used to see Alpine Center differently and was so grateful to them years ago.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTI started going to Alpine Centers for about 5-6 therapy sessions due to becoming a new parent and my mental state deteriorating due to the heavy amounts of stress and other personal traumatic experiences in my life. I seeked help for my depression, separation anxiety and suicidal thoughts due to my living situation. Through my first therapy sessions I went over my situation and the first therapist was very dismissive and judgmental of what I was going through. I was just coming off Maternity leave and also needed a letter of accommodations to be able to take care of my daughter from home for a couple months since my work approved it and I needed time to figure things out , we could not afford daycare and have negative and traumatizing experiences from previous family member's children being put in daycare. I had my last session with Tracy the office manager who when I explained everything to my living situation, mental state etc. He completely invalidated what I was going through in my life and as a new parent, he judged me and my need to work while watching my child even though I had exhausted all options and I needed some more time, and he also asked very inappropriate questions about my partner, and overall I feel disgusted after that session just by the way I was treated. This place did not feel like a safe space , this place did not feel like they were there to understand and help me grow. I had to basically beg for a short term 6 month accommodations letter while I figured things out . Tracy and I agreed to have another Therapy session after the 6 month period to check in on how I was doing and if this was helping me. 2 months later when my work called to verify the letter. Tracy told them to cancel my accommodations due to not seeing me in 2 months even though we spoke about our next session being after 6 months. He never communicated this to me, knowing how much my life depended on this request he asked them to cancel. Thankfully I'm currently going to a therapist who is actually here for me and was able to advocate for me and have my back.THIS PLACE IS SKETCHY, I always paid my sessions upfront due to my insurance not covering this location, but then I get a random bill from Alpine Centers from my insurance even though I never provided them with any insurance information or card.Getting a call back from then is impossible even when you let them know how urgent it is. Weeks would go by and I would never get a call back and I would always have to make an appointment again. Please avoid this place they are only after your money and not here to help you surpass what situation you are going through or make you feel safe.
