About Zinnia Health Lake Okeechobee

Zinnia Health’s Lake Okeechobee site offers inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment for adults in Pahokee, Florida. They also offer medically supervised detox and extensive aftercare support.

Their facilities include a gym and several relaxing outdoor spaces. The bedrooms are comfortable and come with a smart TV and PlayStation 4 for residents to unwind with after a long day of treatment. Nature walks and outdoor activities add some healthy relaxation.

Their treatment programs consist of three main pillars of care: detox, rehabilitation, and aftercare.

The detox stage typically lasts for 10-14 days for drug use and 5-7 days for alcohol use, but this can vary from person to person. This process focuses on removing substances from the body and teaching your body how to function without substances. Medications like methadone and naltrexone may be used to manage withdrawal symptoms and keep your body stable as it adjusts to a lack of substances.

During rehabilitation, treatment focuses on developing new life skills to stay sober. Whether in an outpatient or inpatient program, you’ll attend individual and group therapy sessions to develop these skills and get to the root of mental health concerns that contribute to substance use. They also offer experiential therapy modalities, like yoga, art therapy, and equine-assisted psychotherapy.

During aftercare planning, the team will work with you to outline actionable steps that help you stay sober. They’ll help connect you to alumni support groups and sober housing if needed.

Something I liked about Zinnia Health is that they help people seek out treatment for their loved ones. They provide tailored support for anyone affected by a loved one’s substance use, including intervention services and support through the admission process.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Linden Oaks' Residential Stay Program offers additional support for those who may benefit from a structured living environment. A patient's stay may vary from a few days to 30 days ago. The program includes group, family and individual counseling.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients the chance to participate in a structured treatment plan part-time while they transition back to home and work or other responsibilities. This program provides half-day treatment (Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:15 am to 12:30 pm).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Programs

program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for people in Florida who are struggling with drug addiction. There you can openly discuss the challenges and progress you're making without fear of judgment from your peers who experience many of the same things you are.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

During family therapy sessions, you navigate the complexities of addiction and are provided tools to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. When you work together, families can better support their loved one's recovery and restore balance and harmony within the household.

My time here at Lake Okeechobee has been an eye opening experience. I wasn t quite sure if the residential program was for me, but seeing myself now compared to my intake I m glad I made the choice to check in here. I feel like I m my authentic self and having the opportunity to meet and build connections with the rest of the patients and my recovery team has been an invaluable experience. The chef, Brian, is a godsend and the food is amazing here, and I ve unfortunately gained 5 lbs, but sacrifices had to be made (he also makes accommodations to the best of his abilities). My therapist, Lydia, really listened to me and remembered everything I shared in detail, which is something that I don t experience with most of my therapist in the past. The group sessions and AA/NA meetings are also great. I really want to thank the whole team here Jay, Cynthia, Manny, Allen, Shaniqua, Maria, Barbara, and everyone else. Thank you for sending me on a road to recovery and redemption. Please stay in touch, love you all!

This place was exactly what I needed to recover. I went in as extremely lost person with no self esteem and I was able to leave knowing my value and with a sense of purpose. To be extremely transparent there were a few annoying rules in place and it s not all sunshine and rainbows. However, the peer support and most of the staff make up for it. There s two weekly outings that are generally really fun. There s even a nail salon outing every other week where you can pay for either a manicure or pedicure. Also the food is incredible and the main reason why it was so easy to stay there. Brian is an incredible chef and sometimes he ll even allow you to make a special requests. I will 100% be recommending anyone that asks for a residential treatment facility. As long as you keep your expectations low you can really get a lot out of this program.

I am reviewing Dignity on behalf of my loved one. Dignity was a game changer for him. The therapists there were amazing and really helped him process his trauma. The food was amazing, the outings were so much fun! They even went on air boat tours in the Everglades. If you or your loved one is struggling with substance abuse or mental health Dignity is the place to go.
