About Wheeler Mission Men’s Residential Center

Wheeler Mission - Men's Residential Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a residential treatment facility. They offer long term help to men seeking solutions to homelessness that was predominantly wrought out by an addiction and life controlling circumstance. Their residential programs focus on healing the body, mind and Soul. The long term facility is like a home, offering a structure where men can start rebuilding their lives with support and therapeutic services.

One of the unique services they offer is the Addiction Recovery Program, a faith based approach that incorporates traditional elements of evidence based therapies. Counseling, group therapy and educational workshops are available for men who are plagued by addiction. They will learn relapse prevention, coping skills and spiritual growth. The program is centered around complete recovery, covering substance use and any related problems such as trauma or mental health disorders. At Wheeler Mission spiritual development is an integral part of the program, as they incorporate Bible studies and faith based counseling into their recovery process.

In addition, the organization offers a Work Enterprise Program that focuses on vocational skills to help men join the workforce. Through job training, men can develop hands on skills in either lawn care, food service or custodial work, which they can use as a stepping stone to secure future employment. This program is invaluable in helping men reclaim their independence and put an end to the cycle of homelessness and addiction.

Along with these structured programs, Wheeler Mission also offers case management services, where each resident receives one on one attention to establish personal objectives and deal with specific concerns while finding paths to resources within the community. The case managers help residents navigate the process, ensuring they get whatever support is necessary to remain successful in the long term.

The Men’s Residential Center also takes care of its residents’ basic needs. This consists of meals, housing and healthcare so that folks do not have to compete with basic day by day necessities at the same time they are attempting to overcome addiction. Their dedicated staff provides a nurturing, family like atmosphere that encourages community and accountability.

Wheeler Mission can provide a comprehensive program that transforms lives by offering more than just recovery services but also vocational training, spiritual support and case management. A lot of survivors who have gone through the program in the past said they are grateful for it because it opens a new window. It was their only way to get their life back, to reshape or reclaim some form of dignity and purpose.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab provides intensive, round-the-clock care and is designed primarily for clients who have just completed detox, those in early recovery, and those at an increased risk of relapse. Inpatient treatment typically includes extensive psychotherapy that draws on various modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Clients also learn the recovery-focused life skills needed to promote sustained recovery. Many inpatient drug rehabs also offer evidence-based holistic therapies like meditation, yoga, massage, and experiential therapy.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

For long-term recovery from drug addiction, drug rehab in Indiana is often key. This treatment gives individuals who are struggling with a substance use disorder the tools to manage their disorder and achieve long-term sobriety.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Not because of the staff.but what is allowed by them the drug usage around the building is past out of control. Its the individuals that they allow there that causes problems.Drugs are being sold and consumed right on the premises.Guys were casing my car while I was sitting in it I didn't stay. And I most definitely wasn't going to leave my car unattended.I felt like if I had stayed I would've had to protect my only possession. these guys don't respect boundaries at all

The Wheeler Mission saved my brothers life and our family. It is the absolute best place for men, and women, to rehabilitate themselves and find purpose in life. It is not only a great facility, it has the power of Jesus Christ working, living, and breathing inside the walls of its building. This organization has many different levels of help they can provide, and it is free of charge. They teach people how to be productive, upstanding, respected, and responsible humans. They provide the necessary groundwork and life skills for people struggling with mental illnesses, drug addiction, homelessness, and abuse. If you or someone you love needs help, I would bet my life the Wheeler Mission can help if they have the faith and desire to help themselves.
