intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

When you enter a drug rehab in Utah, the process usually involves four stages: treatment initiation, early abstinence, maintaining abstinence, and advanced recovery. Treatment methods can rely on medications, counseling, or both, in either an outpatient or inpatient setting.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. This was a horrible situation to even have to go through. I first had an interview via zoom with the hiring manager which I felt went great, I then was reached out to on behalf of scheduling an in person interview. I rearranged my schedule to be able to attend the in person interview and then the day of my interview I got an email saying that they canceled my interview because they already chose another candidate. That is a horrible experience for candidates to go through especially with having to rearrange my current work schedule to make it happen. Not a good look for a company.

FIRE ARM NIGHTMARE experience here. I got assaulted by another male at the house. The guy fought me because I accidentally drank his Powerade. They said no matter who starts the fight you both get kicked out. I told them to wait until I arrange a car to the airport. They didn t give me time to even call an Uber. I had a FIRE ARM pointed at me from one of the counselors that work there while I was walking off the property. Everyone is searched prior to entering the rehab and he was about to kill a defenseless young man. The counselor was smiling so EVIL while pointing the gun at me. I expected to have to be safe stay there. This rehab is DANGEROUS for anyone to be staying at. If anyone wants they can contact me for a detailed experience about this rehab.

Turning Point gave me the opportunity to change my life. I learned life skills that have helped me recover and remain sober. I participated in both their residential and outpatient programs and I highly recommend them to anyone who is serious about making recovery and sobriety a part of their future.

Turning Point is a second family for me. I have tried another treatment center and I decided that I wanted to come back to Turning Point. I can be myself here and I know when I need something I can turn to them.

This place is horrible to work at. They had employees sleeping with clients and had to fire them. Their other supervisors are just rude and disrespectful. One of their day staff never wants to do anything. They allowed male and female clients to be in closed rooms with each other. When staff reported it was taken as just staff was complaining. It wasn t taken serious and management never apologized to staff when staff found out that those same clients slept together. This place is not serious about people s recovery. If they were all of that would not have happened. Do yourself a favor don t work here and don t send your loved ones here for recovery. There so many other great places to send your loved ones to get help. I m a former staff that s how I know all the things that have gone on. I worked at their midvale or murray location. Also the same staff call in every week and other staff have to over for them. Which is excessive. Please work and go elsewhere.

Terrible place if you're seeking help beyond addiction. My 20 year old son used weed, but his biggest issue was suicidal ideation. He left in an ambulance, twice, from 2 different centers, and then got harassed for payments that were covered by insurance. They acted completely put out when I came to get his belongings, and I was asked to join family therapy without any sort of follow up. In over a month, we did not have any therapy, despite me giving my availability.Luckily, he found New Roads, and they helped him find his way. I have yet to receive an unexpected extra payment from them, and my child is now in transitional and working a full time job. I would give zero stars to Turning Point, if that was a choice. If your insurance covers it, New Roads is amazing!
