This rehabilitation clinic is a scam. It offers a six week course that cost about $400, but if you fail a drug test, they refer you to take another six week course to get another $400 out of you. As if I have money to pay for another course. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. Beware of scam for money!

Avoid at all costs. Turning corners is a scam and Patricia is the head of it. She will tell the courts you need treatment before even interviewing you, and has a personal relationship with ddmp workers. Absolute money making scam.
Response from the owner1 year ago
Not sure who this person is, but it is impossible to recommend treatment or no treatment before meeting a client in the center for their evaluation. To the benefit of our clients we do have a good working relationship with DDMP. Other than telephone conversations and professional meetings no one at Turning Corners has met a DDMP officer in any other capacity.

Location

Accepted Insurance

Turning Corners works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Once a person has become addicted to a substance, drug rehab in Maryland is often necessary to overcome that addiction. These programs provide the tools individuals need to manage the physical, mental, and emotional issues involved and begin a successful recovery journey.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Great program! The staff was so caring and helped me through all my recovery process. They always call me to remember me my court date and make sure everything went okay. And even though I already finished the program they still care about me, they are very special for me.

Turning Corners has helped me tremendously! I was struggling with addiction and a friend said I should give this place a shot. I'm very happy that I did, as I've now been on the road to Recovery for almost 19 months. Pat and the staff are friendly and professional, and Pat is extremely knowledgeable. I primarily do one-on-one sessions, but have also attended several groups and they are great. I would highly recommend Turning Corners to anyone that thinks they may have a problem and are looking to work towards a happier and healthier life.

This place is legit. Mrs Pat is so lovely. All she really wants is to help. Help us get through the program. Help us kick the bad habits. She's not in it for the money. She doesn't want to see anyone go back to jail. She really actually cares. The people that work here are so wonderful. Everyone in my group really likes group class. It's nice to struggle together. Pat brings us all together. Ive met some really awesome people here. There are plenty of ppl that will still come to group well past their forced time. But Mrs Pat is really genuine. She is a ray of sunshine and a cheerleader for all of us. I'm so glad that my PO suggested I take her class.

Turning Corners is awesome. I learned so much valuable information during the first time offenders educational (6wk/12hr) course. Miss Pat is an incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable woman who genuinely cares about people and helping them realize what problems they may have and ways to address them in the appropriate ways. Anyone who wrote a negative review must not have gone in with the right attitude and are probably just bitter about their situations and problems. I highly recommend Turning Corners AND it's affordable as well!!

I was required to go to Turning Corners by the court system. Mrs. Pat is very nice and I learned a lot while I was required to go there. Mrs. Pat corrected my issue with the drug screen laboratory. She even called me to personally say it was taken care of....

Response from the owner4 years ago
Rob, Sharon left a message for you about this on September 21. We contacted the laboratory and they advised us that you should not have received a bill and you are not responsible for the payment. The Laboratory advised us that you have a zero balance. Capital Laboratories does not make any clients responsible for payments. Please contact us if you have any additional concerns. Turning Corners literally changed my life! Mrs. Pat is absolutely amazing! Its so real that every time by the end of class I m fighting tears. Note that every one that has made a bad comment are listed as John Doe or anonymous. No one could possibly have anything bad to say unless they didn t follow the rules and don t want to be held accountable for their actions!
