About True Recovery RVA

True Recovery RVA is an alcohol and drug rehab organization in Richmond, Virginia. They provide outpatient addiction treatment and recovery housing. Treatment options include day treatment, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and sober living for adults.

This facility provides a safe, structured, and sober environment for individuals navigating their recovery journey. Sober living residents are encouraged to support one another, create a sober community, and engage in house rules and routines.

The partial hospitalization program (day treatment) includes peer-led, curriculum-driven recovery groups, connections to local clinical services, recovery groups that provide effective recovery strategies, and links to resources. The intensive outpatient program is a less intensive form of the same treatment program. Participants are invited to stay in the sober housing facilities.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs offer community-based addiction treatment, enabling clients to remain in their homes while in recovery. Their levels of care typically include partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), standard outpatient, and sober living programming. Most outpatient facilities offer addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Integrative programs include evidence-based holistic therapies, such as meditation, music therapy, and massage. Facilities specializing in alcohol and/or opioid addiction may also provide medication assisted treatment (MAT).

inpatient iconInpatient

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Clients in an intensive outpatient rehab (IOP) benefit from robust support but often do not require the high-level supervision and round-the-clock clinical care provided in an inpatient setting. Clients engage in multiple therapeutic sessions weekly, with most programs requiring between nine and 20 treatment hours per week. Intensive outpatient rehabs provide a wide array of evidence-based services, including addiction counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, holistic therapies, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

A drug intervention in Virginia requires careful planning and execution. Due to complex family dynamics, intervention services are often necessary to help families successfully navigate the process. An intervention specialist can help family members plan what they will say and then facilitate the conversation. This expert also educates everyone involved about addiction, enabling behaviors, and treatment options.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers a structured environment for intensive treatment of behavioral and substance use disorders. PHP treatment can consist of sessions ranging from 6-8 hours per day for an average of 90 days. You can often expect to engage in behavioral therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and receive medication. PHP treatment is often covered either fully or partially by insurance providers.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

When men and women in Virginia participate in group therapy sessions, they learn to freely express their emotions in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and begin to understand the link between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are associated with addictive behavior.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

Men and women in Virginia use individual therapy to focus on addiction related challenges as a necessary part of their drug and alcohol addiction treatment. Your therapist guides you in developing coping strategies, setting realistic goals, and building a strong foundation for an improved quality of life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy helps you understand and manage the emotional and physical responses that often follow witnessing or experiencing traumatic events. Using therapeutic interventions, your therapist works with you to reframe that experience, which in turn reduces your anxiety and helps you regain control over your life.

family iconFamily Therapy

Family therapists work with all members of the family to understand the roles they play in the addiction dynamic. Addressing these patterns is crucial to developing healthier ways to interact and support each other, as well as contributing to a more effective recovery for their loved ones.

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Recreational therapy is often a part of a holistic treatment center program for drug and alcohol addiction in Virginia. It offers structured activities that replace substance use with positive experiences like swimming, painting, and hiking. These encourage social interactions, promote physical and mental health, and help reduce stress, all of which are factors that are important to help you rebuild your life.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

Because some people find it difficult to talk about their experiences, creative arts therapy is often used to supplement talk therapy. This expressive form of therapy offers a variety of outlets to explore and communicate emotions.

My son has been here 2 times the most recent now. He called me to tell me he was kicked out of this place last night at 11 pm for breaking up 2 boys fighting in the house! They didn t even give him a chance to explain what happened they told the house manager to give him 1 hour to Leave or call the cops on him! If you are truly trying to help someone recover from drugs they definitely don t do you like this!

True Recovery changed my life entirely. I could never repay them for lending me the strength and guidance I couldnt find in myself at the time. In just a few short months it was like I transformed into someone I was proud to be. I had more than sobriety, I had recovery. Interna ly I was as rich as I could be, all while holding a job and paying my own bills for the first time too. I was able to do things for/with my daughter that I'd never done. It was an amazing experience and I recommend True Recovery to anyone. I am living proof that it works.

seriously, rock bottom became the solid foundation at which I began to rebuild my life. hermitage house is what saved me, not the courts, not the probation but living in a home where I received so much support & love. it is where I met friends of a life time, where I learned sooo many valuable lessons on how to navigate my way through life. & it s a part of my life which i will never regret happening to me. it led me to where I am today & i am so blessed to be where i am. slow & steady steps thank you true recovery!

This place has helped save my life and gave me an opportunity to get back into the recovery community after a relapse. I have been living here for almost a year now. I have 7 months clean. When I slipped up they didn t cast me aside like trash they. Tried to help me figure out why I slipped and how we can stop it from happening again. The staff is genuine and friendly they are all in recovery as well so they have the empathy needed for real compassion. They also are just like the participants so they know when someone is giving the run around. That definitely helps when you are used to sliding by.

I highly recommend True Recovery. As a parent of an addict I feel like they saved my child s life. They provided her with a safe place to live and they kept her accountable. They gave me hope when I thought there was none left. Thank you to all the staff.
