medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

check iconDual Diagnosis

The term dual diagnosis refers to those individuals suffering from one or more medical disorders at the same time. In the world of drug addiction, dual diagnosis is most commonly used to discuss individuals who have more than one drug addiction, a drug and alcohol addiction, a drug addiction and a psychological problem (such as depression or anorexia), or a drug addiction and a physical health problem (such as AIDS or cancer).

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

animal-therapy iconAnimal Therapy

Animal therapy (aka pet therapy or animal-assisted therapy) can be very healing, as it allows patients to bond with animals, who give unconditional love. This is particularly useful for those who suffered trauma by the hands of people, who may be able to trust and form closer attachments to animals than humans at certain stages of rehabilitation.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Equine therapy, aka equine-assisted therapy (EAT), is a form of experiential therapy that involves interactions and activities with horses. It does not necessarily involve riding horses, but all activities related to horses, such as feeding, grooming, haltering and leading them. A mental health professional frequently oversees the activities (often in conjunction with a horse professional), and helps patients process their thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns during and/or after the interaction. Through the Equine Alcohol Rehab Program they know that total recovery is possible.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

family iconFamily Therapy

The Family Program is a three-day experiential, life-changing program for adult family members and loved ones. It provides a safe environment for families to learn effective communication techniques. It will create a new beginning in the family healing process and each participant will gain knowledge of the role they play in the client’s recovery. Because addiction affects the entire family, they strongly encourage participation in their unique Family Program.

Fitness Therapy

Fitness therapy blends exercise with psychotherapy for a fun, inspiring, and effective way of treating addiction and other issues. By incorporating movement into counseling sessions, clients become more empowered, motivated, and goal-oriented, all while strengthening their bodies and becoming more flexible. Fitness Therapy is usually used to complement a course of treatment (inpatient or outpatient) to make it even more successful. Increasing the connection between a patient’s mind and body helps both with healing as well as in creating new, healthy habits.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Rational Behavior Therapy

Rational Behavior Therapy (RBT) is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy meant to be short-term and comprehensive. It was intended to help clients become more self-sufficent and move forward without the need for expensive, ongoing therapy. It includes an emotional self-help method called “rational self-counseling,” the purpose of which is to give clients all the skills needed to handle future emotional issues by themselves, or with significantly less professional help.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I cannot express enough the gratitude for the exceptional care and support provided by Touchstone. The staff here are truly compassionate and dedicated professionals who genuinely care about each patient. The facility itself is clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the necessary amenities to make the stay as pleasant as possible. I wholeheartedly recommend this facility to anyone seeking help.

This place is AMAZING! If you are seeking complete rehabilitation with strong aftercare, look no further. The staff is caring and always there to help. The education, facilities, and food are all phenomenal. The counselors are genuine and truly want to get to the core of your addiction, not just detox you and send you on your way. I stayed for an additional month, a total of 4, and they worked with me on the financial piece since insurance coverage had ended. It was completely worth the cost and I couldn t be more grateful. While I hope to never relapse, if I do, I will be back there in a heartbeat.

This place and their staff hurt my feelings: they basically turned me away because of money. Because apparently my addiction wasn't bad enough to be approved for their program and really ruined my whole day by turning me away y'all should be ashamed of yourselves very disrespectful.... Should be shut down

Response from the owner7 months ago
We do not intend to hurt anyone's feelings. We are an inpatient facility and follow very strict guidelines/criteria from ASAM, HHSC, Joint Commission, and CARF. Just like any hospital or other inpatient facility, we complete a pre-admission screening and if the client does not qualify for or meet criteria we cannot admit them into our program. We always provide referrals for anyone that does not qualify for our program. Reach out to us if we can be of further assistance to you and your family.

I was at Touchstone a few years ago. I am from NC and it was SO worth the plane ticket. I can t thank Debbie enough for what she did for me. She had an awesome staff. Her counselors were amazing, the nurses were wonderful, and the food was much better than you get at home!! When you are away from family you want to be around people who care for you. You also want a great place to be comfortable and sleep well!! Debbie cares about you being comfortable and she makes sure the little things and the big things are taken care of!!! I promise if you need to go to rehab, look no further. This is where you need to go!! Debbie, thanks for the healing. From Downtown Steven Brown

Best decision of my life. I tried to leave after 3 weeks, and ended up staying 4 months and that s exactly what I needed. The staff went above and beyond to take care of me, and over 6 years later I am grateful to still be clean. I owe it all to Touchstone and their amazing staff.

I am forever grateful for Touch Stone Ranch. I went into the program set on staying 30 days. After I finished detoxing, I realized I had a LOT more problems than just drugs & alcohol. I chose to stay for a total of six months. Biggest financial risk I have ever made but ETERNALLY GRATEFUL that I made this choice because my quality of life is POLAR opposite to how I have been living my entire life.I chose to stay at TRRC for six months persuaded by no one but my Higher Power. They worked with me on how to pay for it, which eased my mind a lot & helped me better focus on my recovery & mental health. I have been diagnosed with PTSD for most if my adult life due to being kidnapped & trafficked when I was younger. I never thought I would be able to feel safe in my own body or be able to function like a normal person . The counselors at Touchstone care soo much about everyone (bless them for even putting up with my crazy self & all of my rage).I now have a year sober (been using since I was 12 & I am now 30, I NEVER thought a year of sobriety would be possible). But beyond the miraculous sobriety, I now feel AT PEACE. I have learned to manage my anger, prevent panic attacks, face my fears & truths of reality, & I have a special relationship with a Power greater than myself. I am involved in my community, my business is growing again, & I m sponsoring 5 women in AA. I am able to help these women in ways that Touch Stone helped me & there is no greater fulfillment than sharing what has been given to me. I can not express my gratitude enough for TRRC. I am finally free from the past & free from the mental chaos of addiction.I 100% recommend Touchstone if you are serious about recovering from drugs & alcohol. I have been to other rehabs, hospitals, programs & nothing is in comparison to TRRC. It s not peaches & cream the entire time because you are going to be working through some heavy stuff. If you are honest with yourself & willing to put in the work, this place will save your life just as it saved mine.

I attended Touchstone for a 30 day period in April 2022. I was assigned a workbook that I completed on my own but did not go over with my counselor, assigned to watch a movie, and a book to read. Other than telling my counselor that I completed the assignments, I never received any feedback or discussion of the assignments. I did not have a single actual counseling session other than to tell my counselor what I had completed on my own without prompting. (I had to ask other counselors for materials or other patients what they were working on for their recovery and mimicked what they were doing). I detoxed at home prior to my admission and did not take any medications or use the medical services during my stay. The website is very misleading as to the services provided. The state of the art gym is seriously lacking and the sauna mentioned on their webpage is nonexistent. I filed a grievance in regards to my lack of treatment and asked for a copy to be supplied to me at discharge. I never received the grievance and when I came in person to obtain one before leaving the state I was told it would be supplied to me by the owner. I have been discharged for nearly a month and have not received anything or any information. I have attempted to contact them but no one has returned my calls or emails. The answer to my lack of treatment was that my counselor was waiting for me to come to the conclusion that I needed to stay longer and they would have worked more when I made the decision to stay longer. My experience of that statement made me believe that I paid for a treatment (out of pocket) but did not receive it because they wanted me to pay more. Other patients at the center were also pushed to stay longer even to the point that they were denied graduations from the program at the completion of their paid timeframes. Other than a handful of staff and forming friendships with the other patients, I did not receive equal treatment as most of the other people there. I did not request a full refund but requested an itemized list of what I paid for and requested that if after an investigation it was concluded that I did not receive something that I would be reimbursed. I still have not received that list either. I waited to write this review due to hoping that these issues would be addressed and rectified. I would recommend that if you or a loved one are considering treatment to possibly seek it elsewhere.

I couldn t be more grateful for Touchstone Ranch After years of failed attempts at recovery, I went to Touchstone, did the work, and have come out a more confident and happy individual. It s not just about the substance abuse, or whatever your drug of choice is, it s about the cause . A cause leads to symptoms. Touchstone helped me really drill down on some mental health instabilities I ve suppressed and dealt with, unknowingly, for years...Appreciative to say the least.Furthermore, I was approved by the staff to return for a unique experiential workshop more than a month after my discharge.100% thumbs up, and hats off, to the staff, the counselors, and the Touchstone curriculum. This place made a genuine difference in my world.
