This place is fantastic and top notch for those that want the treatment and help. The food is good for a hospital type facility and will adjust to one s diet requests. The place is clean with decent beds to sleep on. The staff is all great and can relate to recovery. I did the detox and 30 day residential and of course with any 30 day stay there s good days and bad with food, rules, and organization from the staff, but overall they try hard and it met my expectations for having to be in treatment. They have arcade games, pool table, and air hockey and other things for entertainment when not in groups. The only complaint or suggestion, that I also told them, was that weekends are really slow and boring. They were make changes to help out weekends as I was leaving, and also understand that it was not always this way before Covid limited their options. Overall I would go back if I had to, but certainly hope not to for obvious reasons.

Accepted Insurance

The River Source Tucson works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients the chance to participate in a structured treatment plan part-time while they transition back to home and work or other responsibilities.
telehealth iconTelehealth
Telehealth refers to services that are delivered virtually -- for example, through a live one-on-one video conference with a counselor -- instead of in person. Telemedicine rehab is ideal for people who want to stay in touch with their mental health provider but have difficulty getting to appointments.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Individual therapy for drug and alcohol addiction includes focused attention on the unique challenges that trigger addictive behavior. During individual therapy sessions, you have a safe space in which to discuss stressors and emotional struggles. Therapy fosters trust and open communication that helps develop personalized strategies to overcome addiction.

In Arizona, group therapy helps promote accountability and motivation for men and women who want to stay committed to addiction recovery. It fosters a sense of community where you can share your progress and learn new coping strategies from your peers.

Today marks 4 years sober for me and words can t even begin to describe how grateful I am for my life. Anyone that is in active addiction knows the absolute dispare of needing to stop but not actually feeling like you can because your whole identity revolves around your addiction. You anticipate your days of sobriety being filled fighting the urge to drink, but that can t be further from the truth. I truly am a new person and it is because I learned in River Source how to deal with my own mind. I learned to catch myself in negative thought patterns and seek out support before it s too late. I also learned how to take care of myself mentally and physically because sobriety isn t about punishment, it s about loving yourself enough to want a healthy body and a strong mind. My 30 days at River Source were the most important 30 days of my life because for me, they truly were the stepping stones that created the bridge to my new life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
