hello, my name is Erik.this is very important, please read.i attended this facility last summer, and i normally try to refrain from negativity, but i have not been able to open up about this and has been an ongoing struggle for me mentally.this facility is NOT anything like what they tell you it s like. hallways like a prison, barley any windows. it s scary, unsafe, and dangerous. they think it s a smart idea to combine mental health patients with drug withdrawal patients. during my time there, i had signed my whole life away essentially, was uncomfortably and inappropriately strip searched, and etc. but there was one paper i signed saying that they cannot legally hold me against my will. in which they DID. it only took a few days for things to get out of hand, than i realized it was unsafe. before i came here i was promised extensive treatment and therapy . i never even knew who my therapist was there, and all they do is give you random medications to pop.they go around with tablets every FIFTEEN MINUTES to stalk you and check in your apparently military grade beacon that s actually bad, and poorly connected with the tables and can t even connect through a wall. they wake you up in the middle of the night, and even enter your BEDROOM to get the check-in on the tablet.there was so much violence and medical emergencies that the staff did not care AT ALL about. i watched a young adult male experience an awful alcohol withdrawal seizure, and they sent him to the ER, but was back within an HOUR only, clearly still ill, and confused, and angry. it was awful to believe. also, i was also nearly attacked by two violent withdrawing men as well on the same night, and had a nurse demanded me to hide in the medicine room and lock me in for minutes and wait for it to be over instead of handling the violent men.around one week in, i had a medical emergency myself and was being denied. i was told i was lying to escape and was just having an anxiety attack . and was told in a nasty manner to go to bed . what actually was happening? my LUNG COLLAPSED. i fought for nearly 45 MINUTES to get an ambulance called. i went to the hospital for over a week. even after two surgeries and 10 days in the hospital, they relentlessly called me over and over asking when i d be back. it was disgusting, and so ridiculous.they just want your money. thousands of dollars out of your pocket. they take advantage of your illness. so please DO NOT attend Kandela. it is UNSAFE and will give you trauma. go get ACTUAL treatment. with ACTUAL professionals. who ACTUALLY care.i m glad i was finally able to open up about my experience here.thank you,Erik.

Going to Kandela literally saved my life. The staff there are very welcoming. They do care about you. I would like to shout out some of the staff Stanley, Alexis, Toli(I believe that how you spell it lol) Melissa, Lou, Zoe and Antonia. They really helped me through my process. I could not have done it without their guidance. My therapist Cynthia really told me like it is no sugar coating. I needed that. If you do not put the effort into your recovery there the experience will suck. Not having your phone did really suck the first week, but after that it was literally nothing kind of liberating. The work I put into myself in those 4 weeks has been incredible. I really feel like a new person. If you need help please go here. You will not regret it.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs encompass multiple levels of care to facilitate clients' progress through their recovery journey. Clients who are stepping down from inpatient treatment may require intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, which involves more frequent and substantive therapeutic interventions than does standard outpatient care. Outpatient centers typically provide extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Medication assisted treatment programs (MAT) and recovery-focused life skills training are also common in outpatient care.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home in Florida often serves as a transitional residence for individuals coming out of inpatient rehab. This helps those in recovery avoid isolation that can sometimes happen after they return home from treatment. It offers a supportive environment where they can practice skills learned in rehab. Offering a combination of structure and freedom, men's or women's sober living is a good stepping stone to independent life in recovery.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

I suffer from severe anxiety. During a conversation with an intake , he told me that I don't want help and that I need inpatient treatment. I expressed that I didn't want inpatient care, that I had experienced a period of depression but that it had improved, and that I simply needed better coping mechanisms for my anxiety . He responded by saying that I'm never going to get better because I don't want to put in the work. I assured him that I am willing to put in the effort, just through outpatient care. However, he continued to insist that I wouldn't get better, compared my desires to not work and be a billionaire, and ultimately told me I was wasting my time and to hang up. WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

I called For information about their programs on behalf of a loved one. When the person finally heard that my loved one was not prepared to start a 28 day inpatient program they literally hung up on me. I feel a bit shocked by the complete callousness coming from an organization that is supposed to be helping people with mental health crisis.

Called and harassed me over and over and over bc they say I called them 2 months ago which is funny in itself that you wait 2 months to return an alleged phone call that I never made. Then when asked to stop calling me they continued to call me from severalNumbers and then actually had the audacity to argue with me as if I didn t have the right to refuse a phone call. It s a good thing I don t need these types of services bc boy would that just be sad how do they expect to get any business harassing people like that. WOW

Waste your time?! I don t want to waste mine. Then because I didn t want to talk to them anymore they called me back HARRASSING ME and then got mad when I fired back. DO NOT INQUIRE TO THIS PLACE DOES NOT FEEL LEGIT.

Staff was really chill to most point. I can say that they are not so closed off and engage with the clients to the most they can. The food selection was nice and the groups were plentiful. However, I will say that the there was a lack of planning or preparation in a lot of things. The staff always seem overwhelmed. Toley is a cool dude very passionate. Collin s groups are very informative. This place is amazing compared to past experiences with other places.

Pretty disgusting that you push your patients to leave positive reviews on google (but they have no other access to the internet) during the beginning of their recovery time giving people seeking help false hope! Shame on you! A real recovery center would NEVER ask individuals to leave reviews!!!!! Also watch out! They only let you make 1, 5 minute call a week, and it has to be on speaker so they can monitor it so you say nothing bad about the place!!!!! Absolutely no mental help!!!!! Do you know how detrimental that is to a patients mental health to not be able to call their loved ones/support system? Look at all their responses to all the reviews. It's copied and pasted! All the same words with just a name change. They don't care, they just want the ratings, and your money! Don't fall for them! They're NOT the place to get proper treatment. I am scrambling to get my love one into actual places that care just to make sure he stays on track! Kandela needs SHUT DOWN! They're just sales men that only care about money, NOT recovery! Also Beware of Daphne the nurse who passes out the medication! She is VERY mentally abusive!!!!!
