To the staff of TBRC. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks for all your help, support, compassion and kindness. Your heart and love for the clients shines through your actions.-Bella Thank you for allowing me the space and time to process my grief at my pace. For loaning me your personal book which gave me soo much insight into how I m feeling and that it s okay and there s no timeframe for grief. You are a great listener and an amazing therapist. I ll miss your groups, they were really fun or really deep.-Lauren PHONES & VAPES (My favorite song lol). You run a tight group and keep people on track but also allow them the freedom to process. I appreciated your all your feedback.-Kristin Your groups, for me, were very informative. You taught great content and although I only got you once or twice a week for an hour, I enjoyed the content.-Jenn whatever you pay this woman, it s not enough. She handles all of housing, the techs, scheduling, grocery store runs, maintenance issues, housing meetings, and still has time to do case manager work like making sure every client gets food stamps, a phone for the ones who can t afford one, bus passes and I think I m just scratching the surface. She will do anything for anyone outside the scope of her job description. I admire the hell out of your work ethic, attitude, recovery program and you as an individual.-Rich Sarah and all his different helpers in the morning . Thank you all for being efficient, having a smile and a good morning ready for us when we walk in.Before my last period of sobriety I had the unfortunate experience of going to rehab 31 times. No rehab is perfect and some are just downright terrible. Taking any partiality out of it and grading you on the merits of level of care; compassion; clinically; how you all communicated to resolve client complaints/issues; and how you adapted to adversity and kept the clients first regardless of cost or being overworked, you gals and guy are 2nd to NONE. Accepted Insurance

Tampa Bay Recovery Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients typically choose inpatient rehab when they are in early recovery or are experiencing a crisis that puts them at an increased risk of relapse. They reside at the treatment center for the length of their program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on the program design. Intensive psychotherapy is often the primary treatment modality, but clients in inpatient care may also receive holistic treatment and recovery-focused life skills training.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients the chance to participate in a structured treatment plan part-time while they transition back to home and work or other responsibilities.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs support recovery through emotional, psychological, and spiritual development to address the root causes of addiction. These programs are peer directed, with participants regularly attending 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round. Recovery is based on "working the steps" to understand the source of addiction, take accountability for one's life choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Age-specific, gender-separate, and other specialized programs are widely available.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home in Florida often serves as a transitional residence for individuals coming out of inpatient rehab. This helps those in recovery avoid isolation that can sometimes happen after they return home from treatment. It offers a supportive environment where they can practice skills learned in rehab. Offering a combination of structure and freedom, men's or women's sober living is a good stepping stone to independent life in recovery.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for people in Florida who are struggling with drug addiction. There you can openly discuss the challenges and progress you're making without fear of judgment from your peers who experience many of the same things you are.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

During couples therapy in Florida, your therapist will take steps to get to know you, help you identify feelings, explore the past, develop solutions, and help you learn skills to manage relationship challenges. This process will allow you to work through conflict and strengthen your relationship.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

During family therapy sessions, you navigate the complexities of addiction and are provided tools to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. When you work together, families can better support their loved one's recovery and restore balance and harmony within the household.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

One benefit of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) in Florida is variety. NRT comes in multiple forms that you can use in different ways. This allows you to choose the form that works best with your needs and lifestyle. Your options include gum, patches, inhalers, and prescription medication.

They violate HIPAA rights. I had no release of information and they went and told people what I shared in group and in private to my counselor. Very unprofessional. Do not trust this program.

I went to TBR last year, and Jeff the director is absolutely wonderful, as is Kristen the therapist there. Josh on the other hand was very rude and said some distasteful comments to me, as well as someone I am now with. Otherwise good facility.

TBRC is amazing! The entire staff is genuinely kind and caring. Very helpful and knowledgeable. I did not live in the housing, I commuted from home, so I can t rate them but from what I heard they are very nice and allow for quite a bit of freedom, unlike other residential programs. Their program was exactly what I was hoping it would be and I graduated with all the tools necessary to succeed in my recovery and I know I will never be alone, they will be there to help me. I will miss seeing them on the daily, especially Richie s smiling face every morning for vitals! Remember, you get what you put into it and it takes time, for time!

I went to treatment at tbrc and was in the php program, and I stayed at one of their sober living houses. Upon arrival I was made to feel so welcome by staff members and I was pleasantly suprised at how clean and modern the sober house was. My counselor was amazing and super hands on, everyone went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable. I ve been to many treatment centers and this one was different. I really enjoyed the groups as well as the format. I was able to have my phone and my car as well as have weekend visits with my wife. I would highly recommend this treatment center to anyone so much so that I have since been facilitating the Sunday group meeting and doing service work at tbrc. I would like to mention some people that really made my stay amazing rich the tech and alumni coordinator as well as Josh the house manager, and Nyah who came on around the time I was leaving, and of course my amazing counselor Deborah!

I loved my time here. The staff was great, especially my therapist. Very nice housing and solid, productive groups. I have been to other programs but got the most out of my time at TBRC.

We were given the name of this facility because of their high ratings, but I have very little good to say. Our 25 year old granddaughter was referred here. The people seemed friendly and attentive, and she seemed to like it. Then, she was given a medication which interfered with another one, and it gave her terrible cravings. She called and complained to me one morning, but later that morning I received a call that that she had left with another patient and had relapsed. They didn't know where she was. We are not from the area, so we were terrified. She finally contacted us, and was put back into detox for about a week. It turned out the medical staff did not wait to see what was in her system before administering the the new drug. That was strike one.She was "accepted" back (because they screwed up) and was great for a few days until she missed her 8 pm curfew by 15 minutes because she had been to a AA meeting that ended at 8. She was given a warning. A day or two later she was accused of kissing a fellow male patient. Within the hour, she was told she was leaving, they got her an Uber, and she was shipped off to another facility. Her friends and fellow patients were not allowed to go near her. I was told that male and female patients were not allowed to fraternize, but while delivering some groceries one day, I personally observed male and female patients going in and out of each others residences. My granddaughter told me that one of the techs had it in for her from the beginning, and it was even brought up in group by some of the other female patients. That was strike two.Strike three came when I heard they let another young woman go, also from out of state, at 10pm on a Sunday night! No one has heard from her since. My granddaughter was doing well, and since she was evicted, it has been a struggle to find another facility that could take her and that met her needs. She has spoken to some of the current patients, and was told the staff has been talking about her and how she has relapsed (which she hasn't).It's sad that these young people, who are in a fragile state as it is, are thrown to the curb like yesterday's garbage. I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone.

Tampa Bay Recovery Center changed my life! Before coming here, I was lost and had no positive outlook on life. Not only did the wonderful staff help with my sobriety, they also helped me gain the mindset and knowledge to live my life to my fullest potential! Isabella was the best therapist I ve ever had and her challenges helped me gain the confidence, reassurance, and validity that was absent before I had arrived at TBRC. I was presented with so many struggles that I had avoided during active addiction and I cannot thank the staff and community enough for their support and insight to overcome these situations. I would definitely recommend coming here for anyone seeking treatment as they are very accommodating and accepting to specific needs.
