outpatient iconOutpatient

Surf City Recovery offers a specially designed outpatient drug rehabilitation program which combines real-world environment and interactions with the benefits of a supportive clinical intervention and progress assessments on a daily basis. At Surf City Recovery, their experts understand that no two patients are alike. They will develop an Outpatient Program that is completely geared towards your unique situation and personal goals. When participating in their Outpatient Program, patients can overcome addiction and live a drug-free life.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

The people at this program took me in at my worst as one of their own, and helped me change my life. The culture they inspire in their clients truly creates a desire for change and healthy decisions. I owe Rich and Andrew everything. Love you guys.

I will be forever grateful for Surf City for helping me change my life! Rich, Andrew and all the staff showed me in my lowest point of life that there was a beautiful and different way of life for me as an addict. I came in alone, scared and hopeless and they welcomed me in like they had known me for years. I found a fellowship of people who understood me and actually cared about me and I m so glad to call them all my family now! They prepared me for my return to home and set me up to succeed there. Rich has remained in contact with me after I left to check in and that means so much to me he really cares about his clients and their futures. Anyone who really wants to get sober and stay sober will find their new life here!

This experience was ONE OF THE WORST I've had in treatment yet. Not only is the owner so out of tune with reality due to his own personal misfortunes, he's got inexperienced ,unqualified insta hire kids who aren't anchored in recovery. There's 3 bunk beds in a 10x10 (or smaller room) they don't provide food, the recovery center has ONE therapist who doesn't engage with the clients. It's a pitiful excuse for a rehab and DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE SEEKING TO BETTER THEIR LIVES! It's A SCAM

I came into Surf City Recovery completely hopeless with no idea what to do with my life. The program and the staff helped me in more ways than I can describe. My life has completely changed and I owe it all to Surf City. If you need help and don t know what to do I honestly suggest coming here. They run a clean program and the owner and staff really truly care. Plus the area is great and the people are nice.

I've been to SCR a couple times due to my own mistakes from leaving early and relapsing. And Rich at SCR has welcomed me back with open arms and has helped me to understand addiction. With the knowledge I've learned here and in A.A, I'm now sober today and thankful for SCR.I highly recommend this program for anyone struggling with any type of addiction or alcoholism.
