Accepted Insurance

Summit Behavioral Health Princeton Junction works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Per session payment lets you pay for each treatment at the time of service. You may also pay for a certain number of sessions up front and then pay for more if needed. This format allows you to tailor the financial investment to your specific needs and avoid having a large lump sum payment due at the end of the treatment program.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient therapy programs make addiction treatment accessible to those who do not have the flexibility or freedom to pause their career and family obligations to focus on their health and wellbeing in a residential facility. Outpatient addiction treatment allows the to take advantage of local resources, making it possible to fit a recovery program into patient's existing schedule.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs are a common form of outpatient therapy that fall under the category of self-help. These programs are entirely voluntary, and use a group therapy environment to help individuals work through personal struggles with addiction. There are 12 step programs for almost every form of addition. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) are two of the most common 12 step programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Once a client graduates from one of their programs they strive to stay connected to their recovery process. They’re always looking for ways to check on their progress and even get them additional treatment services, whether through one of their outpatient facilities or health care professionals in their community. Summit Alumni Services is a series of programs designed to amplify the recovery for their clients, alumni, families and community.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in New Jersey is the process of addressing the complex issues involved with addiction. Challenges are identified and addressed through individual and group counseling. Participants learn how to manage these issues without the use of substances.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Rational Behavior Therapy (RBT) is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy meant to be short-term and comprehensive. It was intended to help clients become more self-sufficent and move forward without the need for expensive, ongoing therapy. It includes an emotional self-help method called “rational self-counseling,” the purpose of which is to give clients all the skills needed to handle future emotional issues by themselves, or with significantly less professional help.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Let me just say if they dont take your insurance dont bother...they made me feel very uncomfortable especially Meeka the councilor. The one and only reason my Son and I attended Summitt was because we followed our Doctor who we love. My other son 2 nephews and a few friends went to Dr. Williams. We paid out of pocket. I asked my counselor if my appointment could be rescheduled the following week this was December 12th or 13.I didnt have my payment. I had alot of bills and a few unexpected expenses my husband was going to give me the money for the doctor all I had to do was reschedule. I thought no big deal. I cant go there without my payment. This isnt Docs other office when he would let me pay the next time plus it was 100 not 10 dollars She had to asked the director if it was ok. WHAT????? It was aweful. She got back on the phone and said we weren't welcomed back. Seriously your kicking us out. I didnt realized my Son was making plans on keeping his appointment but I messed up. As a Mother I am more concerned about my sons sobriety even though he is a grown man he is my baby. I laided awake nights cruising the internet trying to find a program who took both our insurances and where we could go together since my Son dont drive. My heart was literally broken Dr. Williams will always be my favorite Doctor. So I feel like they didnt care about... our sobriety which I pray for strength to continue to do.. They took that away from me. Especially Meeka. I wanna thank I think it was Renee who called me this afternoon a month later to check on us. I told her how I felt she said she would document it. I will miss my doctor he is my hero like a big brother I seen him off and on because of pain pills. 13 surgeries 7 just on my knees. Addiction is a very terrible disease. So last I just wanna say Thanks for making me feel like I was a junkie. I dont know who this so called Director is and Meeka is very very unprofessional. My opinion its all about the money...so if you dont have insurance dont go there. Meeka called me last week asking for my insurance information no you didnt take my insurance I paid cash and have bank receipts..I am so sorrowful to say aweful things...they are the truth. I feel like they dont care but Dr Williams did. I will miss him. There's more other things that happened with Meeka....my 23 year old Granddaughter is a counciler she has more compassion then Meeka. I hope that someone has the sense not to do what I did. They probably wont even post this. I found a program just last night almost a month later and almost out of our medicine which we had to use sparely almost just on the rim of withdrawal. Summit didnt care. I have learned my lesson. As God as my witness this is my truth.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! THIS PLACE IS THE BEST!!!!Summit is an awesome place that really helps people get on a positive track in Life!! Literally every single person who works there, from the Nurses to the Front Desk to the Clinicians to Renee who handles billing & insurance, is genuinely kindhearted, open & empathetic. The environment is really warm & welcoming, no one feels judged and everyone is trying to get better together. The Clinicians tailor their treatment to each individual and really develop a trusting bond with their patients that is FAR more effective & successful than the run-of-the-mill outside therapist you'd see maybe once every week or two and never really get anywhere with.I cannot put into words how Grateful I am that Summit exists and I truly wish anyone who's lost their way a bit in life has the opportunity to find themselves at Summit

Terrible communication all around. Really strung me along, to my believe that it was to milk my insurance company of more money as days passed in IOP. Urine screens got lost in transit causing staff to judge/blame me, not believing me. My pain management doctor was called without my consent and my steroid injection for my arthritic back has now been jeopardized, despite that not being the concern or reason for my entering IOP. All the staff: Larry, D, Renee, Dr. Williams all made empty promises to call my doctor to let them know about the mix up of information, but I have tried to follow up on this to no avail. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I learned a bit in some of the groups, but I have my family to thank for my continued success on my journey.

This was the greatest experience! I am far from a 'first-time winner', so I have several past programs with which to compare. The staff were knowledgeable, professional, and very compassionate. I always felt personally safe, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. As much 'research' as I've done in addiction and recovery, I finally learned what was holding me back from becoming my best self.Even if you've been down this path before, I highly recommend Summit to help you find a better way.

I hope I do this justice. My experience with Summit, from the 1st call in number to the last day was unreal. The program, the therapists (Maegan & all), Renee, the Billing Department and Dr Williams are top notch!During the entire program, I always felt we were in it together, I never felt alone. The premises are always kept clean and organized.Once released from the onsite program they made sure there was a liaision available and I was introduced to Ashley who offers a weekly Alumni Meeting with other regional liaisions to help us have a support network.I highly recommend this site and service!!!!!!
