I was at 815 Buena Vista however have been to 890 in the past. 815 is boys and girls while 890 is just guys but they have a gym and a pool table.
For intake, meaning you're staying for detox which is 5 days or staying 90 days you'll need to go through intake. Show up at 8:30am. Trust me you'll save yourself hours and getting from intake to your bed can take the whole day so showing up early is important.
There are 2 mandatory classes you have to attend not to be kicked out. One in the morning and one in the evening
Set alarms on your phone for everything. Eating, pills, classes and snack time.
Never disrespect your instructor. If he has his way of doing things then follow it even if your way is better. Many of them came from where you are a few years prior so they have no problem getting ghetto with you for not following the rules.
Buy your own pillow and blanket. If you're in detox you'll need 3 blankets and still cold. I wore my jacket to bed.
Utalize the therapists that are there for you. You need to sign up for this individually. Nobody is going to tell you.
If you need a license or ID from DMV get a voucher from your councilor.
Every package you get will be inspected.
For snacks I recommend ordering from Amazon. Then when the snacks show up you need to play dumb. Make up an excuse like this was sent to me. It's ok. Store the snacks in your personal bin. Then when the guy who's working is cool go say you need your bin. Then load up your snacks in your bag then bring them upstairs. Snacks! I recommend hiding these from staff room searches.
You can vape weed. You'll have to sneak it in but I highly recommend it. There are giant windows always open in your room and bathroom. Go to the bathroom unless your roommates are cool otherwise vape from your bed.
Hide your stash. People steal
Get a tripod for your cellphone so you can watch TV or movies
Bring a large coffee or insulated mug larger than 20 ozs. You're going to need it.
You need minimal clothes. Clothes are washed every day and delivered to you.
Bring smokes and some lighters even if you don't smoke. Menthol a plus
You'll have a lot of time to work out your life. Make the most of it

Came here for a dentist appointment. Very busy place with strict policies regarding lateness. Most of the staff were professional and welcoming. The young Asian receptionist on the 5th floor was especially friendly and kind.
Facilities like this often receive a lot of undeserved criticism, but they play an extremely important role in our community and the city. Thank you for serving the comunity.

Couldn’t have asked for a better place to detox at, the staff really cares for the clients and is super easy to talk to and joke around with. We went on outings almost every other day walking up and down the bay. Trevor, Dan and Alicia were so nice and encouraging. I’ve been struggling with addiction for the past 3 years and this place was pivotal in my success in recovery.

My daughter was discharged today after about five months of treatment. Her psychiatrist, Liz, was incredibly supportive, not only for my daughter, but for our family. She patiently met with us each week, guiding us through my daughter’s healing journey with care and dedication.
Throughout this process, I learned so much about how to better support and communicate with my daughter. Our understanding of her has deepened, and it’s been a truly eye-opening experience for us.

This is the best rehab and recovery program I have found. I experienced bad and researched my ass off on rehabs. I prayed for the best program for me and I found it. The food is excellent! The counselors truly genuinely care and the director was caring and helpful and kind from the very beginning. I cant tell you how grateful I am to be at Ohlhoff and working a solid program and in the hands of caring professional therapists, counselors, director and staff. THIS IS THE BEST IN THE INDUSTRY! Seeing as I am here on a weekly basis I felt it only a must that i write a review. As you walk through the main double doors and come to the front desk you will be met with nothing but the utmost respect and decency. The men and women that take position here are lovely individuals who genuinely care about your health and well being. No matter if you are a regular or if you are on vacation or just on your way though, I can guarantee they will do there absolute best to help you in what ever you current issue or situation may be. If they are unable to solve your issue do not fret they will not shy away from making you aware that your issue is best suited for the actual VA Hospital which lay just up the hill. You can sit back and relax but don't get too comfortable the wait times are short and you will be in and out in a flash. Yet you can be confident you are getting the best possible care. Comparing to any other VA Clinics's or any VA affiliated medical facility this by far exceeded my expectations and has been such a gift to have in these past months.

I stepped from the curb onto an oil slick surface, Broke my Hip!!aaaargh!! 15 hours later, I have a pin and 2 screws holding it together, 8 weeks have passed and I'm walking without a walker or wheelchair. I'm 56 , I thought for sure it would take months to recover to the point where I could walk again, everybody I know , sees me now and are shocked how quick everything came together .I've now had two surgeries at St. FRANCIS, I'm not looking for a third, Should the need arise, I will ask to be taken to St Francis.

This is the best ADU (crisis residential program) in San Francisco and a gem of the public mental health system in The City. Very client centered, veteran staff, many of whom have worked here for many years... They prioritize client needs and the client's experience, and safety. Well maintained, clean, beautiful facility. Bilingual program, signs are in English and Spanish and groups are interpreted for Spanish only speakers.
This is a social model program, like the other ADUs in San Francisco. There are multiple therapeutic groups per day, counseling, referral to case management or other services in San Francisco, and meals included. You're allowed to leave the facility to attend to errands, appointments, or outside support after an initial "orientation" period. They will help set you up with whatever resources you may need.
At LEAST three employees still work here (it's April 2024, my last visit was in 2012). Call Dore Urgent Care Clinic or speak to a case manager for referral.
Typical length of stay: Two weeks, possible referral to longer term residential treatment.
Medicare and/or Medi-Cal, Healthy San Francisco, no insurance, Kaiser accepted. Sliding scale, small program fee depending on ability to pay.
