Their actual therapists provide a quality service, but the front office with this organization is terribly managed. After being referred to Specialized Therapy Associates by my insurance company, their front office mistakenly provided me with a provider that was out of my network. It took them months of treatment to actually catch this, and then they expected me to front the entirety of this accumulated bill out of my own pocket. They even threatened the forwarding of this sum to a debt collector if I failed to pay the company for their mistake in a prospective payment plan form emailed to me by the company. I was also forced to completely abandon my treatment and the progress that had been made with my therapist because of their office's abysmal miscalculation. If you value your mental well-being and the money in your pocket, stay clear of this company and invest your time and hard earned money elsewhere.Edit: This organization's business practices are outright fraudulent. STAY AWAY. To collect on the outstanding balance refuted by my insurance company, caused by their office's adminstrative error (possible scam), they proceeded to charge me by using my debit card on file without my authorization.

Accepted Insurance

Specialized Therapy Associates works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients who are exiting inpatient rehab, those who are experiencing crisis, and those who prefer to live at home while in treatment typically enroll in intensive inpatient programs (IOP). These programs feature frequent and robust care, generally requiring clients to participate in at least nine hours of care weekly, though many intensive outpatient rehabs offer up to 20 treatment hours per week. IOP services typically combine individual, group, and family counseling with recovery education and holistic therapies.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

I had prior years of therapy and various doctors and found that at specialized therapy that my experience with the therapist, doctor and the functional nutritionist was extraordinary. I learned how to sleep well and eat well and eventually got off of medication. I feel my best now. The professionals are excellent here. The hours convenient and accommodated my schedule. I can't say enough great things about this practice because so much more was offered than just traditional therapy. This is the first time I actually feel like I am really well. I am excited about life again. Thank-you for all you have done for me.

Upon completing the intake I was told who my therapist would be. After a day or two I received a call from some woman who said that after reviewing my paperwork they thought Alyssa Spitz would be better for me.Alyssa Spits wanted nothing to do with me and went as far as to say, "Don't want to get your hopes up, this may not work".Why did the "powers up above" say she would be a good fit for me and now she doesn't even feel like she can help? What a joke! This is what therapy has become - therapists even doubting themselves. I only had two sessions with her and by the second appt. I could already tell she gave up on wanting to treat me

Good Afternoon Alicia, I do apologize for your dissatisfaction. What service were you offered, and do you recall who you spoke to? We offer the full range of services for outpatient mental health. If you called and we didn t offer a service, we would gladly refer you to the proper level of care. :)
