About Special Services Community Center
Special Services Community Center is located in Reedley, California. They offer DUI programs to fulfill court requirements and substance abuse and alcohol prevention programs for people in Fresno County. Their programs are for first and multiple offenders and they have a drug diversion program.
The First Offender Program is 15 weeks of alcohol and drug treatment. They perform an intake and assessment at the beginning and 12 hours of alcohol and drug education, plus 18 hours of group counseling.
They have a First Offender II program which is six months long. It’s 12 hours of drug and alcohol education and 32 hours of group counseling with four hours of individual counseling.
Their First Offender Nine Month Program consists of 12 hours of alcohol and drug education with 44 hours of group counseling and 20 individual counseling sessions that are done twice a week.
They also have a PC-1000 program that’s six months long. It’s 18 hours of education sessions, 12 hours of group counseling, and four individual counseling sessions plus a 30 minute exit conference. There’s a Wet Reckless program as well here that you need to request information about.
The Wet Reckless program is essentially a plea bargain so the District Attorney will drop your DUI for a reckless driving conviction, but the Wet part of that still acknowledges that you were under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
It’s considered a prior offense so if you get another DUI charge within seven years then you’ll be treated as if it’s your second one. The consequences for a Wet Reckless can tend to be less severe from both the court and DMV as far as points on your license.
All of their programs may grant you restricted license privileges under the discretion of the DMV, except for the Wet Reckless program. For orientations, you need to check their schedule and they offer them in English and Spanish.
This facility is about seven minutes from the nearest bus stop so if and when your license is suspended it can be fairly easy to get there. As for payment, you must pay for all of these services yourself and they take cash, check, money order or a credit card.
Other Forms of Payment
Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.
Addiction Treatments
Levels of Care
Treatments
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.
A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.
Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.
Programs
Clinical Services
In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.
