Transgender care....... .....I came here for help transitioning and these people don't have a clue. I got misgendered by Kyle after talking to him for an hour. They sent my a intake paper to sign and he had misgendered me all through it!Then my therapist..........just read all of the bad reviews and go to UC HEALTH where they actually do know how to counsel transgender people....these people may honestly try.....but they just don't understand nothing about being transgender or the hate we face.....I was their first transgender patient and it sincerely showed....I spent a whole day crying because of these people after wasting almost 5 months. They told me that I had to talk about "other" things to get my letter.i came from Florida and didn't understand how transition worked here. So they made me have therapy for things I didn'tNeed just to get a support letter for my transition

If you truly need constant and dependable help, this is not the place for you. The late contact if any and canceled appointments are constant. There is no real guidance through your attempt to heal. Last but not least more often they speak to you as if you have no idea what is going on with yourself. Self help youtube online therapist and a good friend would be 100% more helpful.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients receiving care in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) engage in a minimum of nine hours of treatment per week on average. However, many intensive outpatient rehabs offer up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP services are ideal for those in early recovery or who are at an elevated risk of relapse. IOP may be chosen in lieu of inpatient rehab. Treatment modalities typically include psychotherapy, life skills training, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and holistic care.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients engaged in a rehab aftercare program have completed active addiction treatment and are receiving services designed to promote their sustained sobriety. Drug rehab aftercare typically encompasses a wide variety of medical, mental health, and social services meant to facilitate clients' reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Clients typically collaborate with their case manager and/or recovery team to identify and access the services they need, often including peer coaching, career counseling, and care referrals.
12-step icon12-Step
Addiction recovery based on a 12 step program model is rooted in peer support and spiritual development. Participants regularly attend 12 step meetings, which are free, anonymous, peer-led, and available throughout the day and night in most communities. Clients' recovery is achieved progressively as they work through the 12 steps, which teach them to understand and address the root causes of their addiction, become accountable for their choices, and relinquish control over that which cannot be changed.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Detox can be dangerous if not properly supervised, making 24-hour clinical care in Colorado an essential tool in the recovery process. The constant monitoring by medical professionals helps individuals through critical stages of recovery. Medical professionals and addiction specialists are available 24/7 to provide medications that ease withdrawal symptoms and to treat any other issues that arise.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder. This evidence-based practice was designed to treat symptoms associated with Borderline Personality Disorder. However, since its initial conception the strategies outlined in DBT have been beneficial in treating a variety of disorders including anxiety, depression and substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Today I traveled from Gunnison to go pick up my friend. I will say that the lack of customer service was sickening! When I arrived I said I was there to pick up so and so and the only response I received was "who"? I then proceeded to have as seat while they went to get them. 1 hr and 20 minutes later they came out. I will repeat, 1 hr and 20 min!!! In that time not once was I greeted, asked if I needed anything or even looked at. NOT ONCE! Instead I got to listen to the front desk lady talk on her phone with a very loud voice!! This is not a facility that puts people first like the sign on the wall says! Complete joke!! Please know that I only put 1 star because I had to put something.

I have been coming to this facility for years, first as a patient with private insurance, and recently lost my job and now have Medicaid. It seems Medicaid patients have more options here. However, as someone who is walking around in everyday life and grappling with mental health issues, I feel the need to document my encounters at the front desk. There has been the same receptionist at the front for years & typically has been pretty cordial & friendly, up until recently. I was speaking with another front desk person that sits up front & the lady with short blonde hair rudely interrupted me. The other younger woman who I was speaking with, changed my entire day around from feeling suicidal to feeling heard and like I mattered until the other older woman (short brittle hair) intervened. I felt a bit of embarrassment and was triggered by the way she spoke to her coworker and me so I can only imagine how that poor gal felt and it s happened on more than one occasion, experiencing her rude bossy attitude. I now try to avoid checking in with the older woman as she has destroyed my respect for her by the way I hear her treat other workers. I can t imagine what is said behind my back or patients if you upset this woman! If this is the office manager I am suggesting replacing her asap or turnover might continue to happen, understandably so! We all have bad days, I know firsthand from dealing with depression, anxiety, and PTSD but as a business owner myself I know how vital treating your team members with respect & trying to always do so with patients in front of you!! However, at the same time, I've been grateful for most of the company's open-heartedness, their willingness to help, and their walk-in-talk - and walk-out-again services. It's nice to know that such kind and skillful people are available in such a safe and controlled environment if you ever need a hand. One bad egg won t keep me from coming back to continue working on my mental health. I now have most of my therapy sessions at home from Zoom because of the way I am treated by the older front desk lady.

I have had nothing but problems with Solvista Health. Did An intake With Solvista back in November 2021 and charged my insurance $400+ and they tried forcing me to see a male therapist. because i missed the appointment with the male therapist they removed me from their system without alerting me. i found that out when i went in this year to talk to them to see why they was blowing me off. now they want to charge me the same amount to do a new intake. I feel like that is theft to charge my insurance the $400+ then just remove me from their system. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here I'm sure there are other mental health places that would treat you better. It is unacceptable to not return phone calls.

With all of the talk about how we need to create more access to behaviorial health care and remove barriers to care for mental health services, Solvista has opted to do "open access scheduling" for establishing care. So, you get emailed all of the paperwork to get enrolled (not sure what happens if you are homeless, without internet, computer illiterate, etc., I guess it just becomes another barrier to care) and complete and return that and you are enrolled. Then, you are able to call on Tues, Wed, or Thurs morning and cross your fingers that there is an opening on that same day that also fits your schedule so you can be seen for an intake appointment. You cannot schedule ahead of time, it has to be done this way. So, I called this morning to get my daughter scheduled and I get the message on the Canon City office's line which states to leave a message and they will return your call the next business day. I left a message saying I was trying to schedule an open access appointment for the same-day, not sure how that is going to work if they aren't returning calls until the next day. They did call back relatively quickly and explained that they have meetings on Wed. mornings, so that is why the message said that. The staff member was very polite and kind and apologetic. But, hey, why not have meetings on days when there is no open access scheduling? Or after lunch when people aren't trying to call and get a confusing message saying their call will be returned the next day after being told multiple times about this "same day" intake scheduling requirement? They then tried to transfer me to the Salida office, as that is where we live. There was no one available, so I'm told that they will call me back hopefully "within the hour" and advised that if I don't hear back in the next hour or so I should just call back and start it all over again. I did get a call back from the Salida office pretty quickly, and was told that they are ready to go for the intake RIGHT NOW. Now, maybe I misunderstood in all of these conversations or maybe it wasn't explained properly (I'm certainly willing to accept that I could have misunderstood this bizarre system), but they tell me that they are ready to do the intake now, at this moment. I'm trying to get this intake done for my daughter who is not at my house at this moment and won't be back until about 11. So, I tell them this and clarify that my only options is to call back when we are sitting here ready to - POSSIBLY - go, and hope that our call can get from Canon City to Salida and that in that same moment a counselor will be available for an intake appointment? Yes, that is exactly the expectation. And, all of this for a Zoom appointment. I could have done a Zoom appointment with 100s of online counseling programs rather than wait for our schedule to jive with Solvista's at some indeterminate point of time in the future when the stars magically align to do a Zoom appointment. I'm an RN and my most recent history has been in care management and care coordination. My job is to help people receive the follow up care that they need with the specialty clinics where they need to be seen, and assist them with navigaing various health care systems. If I can't understand this scheduling system and make it work, I promise....there's something wrong. Additionally, my daughter is not in crisis. We are seeking proactive mental heatlh care to address gaps in conflict resolution and life skills. If we were a family on the border of crisis, this inabililty to get care with the right person at the right time would have thrown us into a tailspin. The Salida office did say they would call back to see if they could schedule something in the future to avoid this "maybe we can do the intake when you call back, maybe we can't" scenario. Before the called back, I scheduled with on online counselling system for this afternoon. I wish I had just done that last week.

Thank you for your feedback and we apologize for your negative experience scheduling an initial appointment. We always take individual feedback seriously and use it to try and improve the customer experience. As a healthcare worker, you know how hard it can be to design a system that works for everyone, but that is our goal. Our team is already using your feedback to look at ways to improve this process. We assure you that although electronic delivery is one way of sending necessary forms, we work with individuals online or in-person to gather the needed paperwork and avoid barriers to care. We would be honored to be your local behavioral health provider in the future if your current choice does not meet your needs. If you would like to discuss further, please contact our Client & Family Advocate at, 719-275-2351. Again, thank you for your feedback.

Jen was always very kind...Heather...not so much! If you get a good counselor that's not judgemental or accuse you of things you aren't doing then its not too terrible of a place. Thanks Jen for always being so kind!

I have been with solvista for about 9 months they are ok. I have had problems with some of the staff. There was this lady named Brendai or brenda something along those lines she treated me very rudely and yelled at me till I made a decision. The other people I have met are really nice. They do have a bad habit of not calling back. I have had a few cases when I called them and I was told they would call me right back they never did. It is ok over all but there needs to be some work on what goes on.
