About Solutions 4 Recovery

Located near the famous Doheny Beach in Dana Point, California, Solutions 4 Recovery is a faith based, evidenced based residential addiction and mental health treatment center. Though the center is faith based, there is also a nondenominational track. They treat individuals with dual diagnosis.

The facility offers supervised medical detox, residential treatment programs, and outpatient programs. In the programs, you’ll have group therapy, individual therapy, and couples or family counseling. It’s notable that they also welcome your pet while you’re getting treatment.

They use 12 Step programs and also have medication management. The programs have addiction education classes and relapse prevention planning.

If you’re on the Christian track, your care comes from a Christian perspective. The program uses Christian values coupled with classic addiction treatments that center your recovery around your spiritual needs.

Along with the addiction recovery, the Christian track offers prayer meetings, prayers before meals, and scripture readings. You’ll have Bible studies and attend church weekly. The 12 Step program is also Christian.

The center also welcomes veterans and active duty military. They help treat addiction and mental health issues specific to your military experience, such as PTSD.

The facility accepts military insurance (TRICARE). They also accept other insurance providers, but be sure to verify your insurance with them before enrolling in a program.

I am beyond grateful for Solutions 4 Recovery. From the time I made the decision to call them to get help, they have gone above and beyond to make my recovery possible, exciting, and successful. They have wonderful group facilitators that keep a constant theme of recovery, while creating a safe environment for clients to open up in group therapy. We get taken to many excellent 12-step meetings; the recovery in this area is over the top amazing. The houses clients live in are beautiful, beyond what words can say, and very comfortable, homey, and lively. Overall, this program has changed my life forever for the better. I came to treatment with very little hope for a future for myself. Capo has been patient, kind, and loving to me, at a time when I was none of those things to myself. The entire staff, in more ways than I can count, is a significant part of the success in my recovery. To Jacqueline, Director of Detox and house manager for the girl s house, is without a doubt the most inspiration women I know. What she has done for me in my time here I will never forget, and I couldn t think of any women better fit to be someone to lean on during recovery. To Jeff, for always keeping things real, giving great advice, and being an inspiring example of success in recovery. To Toni, thank you for all the education groups on recovery, hearty laughs, compassion, strength, and hope. To Amanda, for showing me it is completely and totally possible to be happy in recovery and have fun again while in recovery. To Bill, my boyfriend and my couples counselor, for getting my relationship on a beautiful path after just about destroying it in addiction. To Lauralee, my therapist, for guiding me through this whole process, allowing me to feel safe, helping me to forgive myself, and always reminding me it is okay to make mistakes. And to John, the owner, for always saying hi to me, asking how I am, what s new; I ve never known another treatment center where an owner cares so much about the clients. I wouldn t have wanted to end up anywhere else besides Solutions for treatment.

Accepted Insurance

Solutions 4 Recovery works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

monthly iconMonthly

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

As of March 10th 2018, i offically became one year clean and sober. I came to solutions after MULTIPLE, MULTIPLE attempts to get myself clean (about 12 visits to treatment centers to be exact). Before coming here I had never stayed at a treatment facility for more then 30 days, I had no desire to. I wound up staying at Solutions for 6 months. Upon admitting myself, I quickly realized this was the place for me to be. I finally felt like I was surrounded by people who completely understood me, somewhere i could be myself, and after many years running the streets I felt like i had found a family. This was the first place i had been to that i didnt feel like a sardine packed into a facility with a paycheck stapled to my forehead. I needed people who genuinely cared about my well being, and selflessly would guide and help me and NOT cosign my BS. Recovery is not a walk in the park, it takes hardwork, strength, and determination. This place taught me how to put color back into my world and see the beauty in life. I was never judged for my moods, my past, or my feelings towards any given subject. I was cared for and listened to. The staff makes you feel like you are at home, and i can honestly say i wouldnt be where im at right now without their help. Thank you Jeff, Jackie, Caity, Josh, Jerry, Toni, and John for helping pave the path for a new life for me and for going above and beyond for me everytime i needed you. I honestly couldnt and will never be able to thank you enough! After completing my program here i relocated (i am originally from the east coast) and stayed in California where i am an actual productive standup member of society. Please, if you need help call this place! You might just change your life around!

I came to Capo by the Sea on 3/15/2017 a broken desperate shell of a person. My addiction had cost me everything I ever loved; my 23 year marriage, my relationship with my children and family, and everything I owned. When I arrived at Capo by the Sea I completely put my life in their hands and they have taken the better care of me than anyone could expect; above and beyond what any other rehab has done for me.If you are looking for a vacation to take a break from you addiction and think you are cured, this is not the place for you. I would suggest a nice spa or resort. If you are serious about changing you life to a life without illicit substances and be around people who seriously care about your well being, and will guide you to a life of recovery, this is the best place for a person who wants to recover from addiction.I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Capo by the Sea/Solutions for Recovery. They truly care about every client that comes through their door. They do not treat their clients like just another person going through a program. They are completely honest with every one of their clients, even if the client does not want to hear it; recovery is the goal and they are willing to do anything (within reason) to help every client achieve that goal. THEY HAVE SAVED MY LIFE!!!! I truly have made lifelong friends with the staff, and many of the clients I have met through my continued journey. I would be remiss if I did not mention Jeff Lazzaro, Josh Buchanan, Caitlin Soller, Jerry (OG) Diaz, Jacquline Malani, Adrienne Woodward, Rob Kahal, Toni Brindisi and all of the counselors and therapists.Recovery only works for those who want to recover and are ready to be honest, open-minded, and willing to do what it takes to achieve a life better than one could imagine.IF YOU ARE WILLING TO CARE ABOUT YOUR RECOVERY, THEY INTUITIVELY ARE EAGER AND WILLING TO CARE ABOUT YOU.Over a year later I am still happy, sober and have a new fulfilled outlook on life !!!

This facility and the staff saved my life. I have been to treatment before and without a doubt this is the most caring and supporting group of people I have ever encountered. Jeff in particular has been a huge part of my recovery and sobriety. I have not only been able to achieve sobriety but with the help of Jeff and the rest of the staff I have found true happiness. I would recommend this facility to my own family if they needed help, rest assured you are in the best of hands from the moment you get off the plane until your eventual graduation from this program. We do recover, this program will give you the best odds for success.

Capo by the sea saved my life, they have a great staff that cares so much as if you where family. They have a great program with therapy and even gym time. Jackie the house manager for the women s house is such a hard worker that puts her heart into everything that she does. Jeff Lazzaro and others at this rehab are hands down the reason my son is happy and healthy today. Such an amazing group of people who truly treat those who have lost their way a family oriented environment and build them up to walk out with their heads up and start a healthy life outside the center. My son has been out for a few months now and they continue to keep tabs on him. I'll forever bed indebted to the whole staff at Capo but Jeff has warmed mine and my families hearts in a way that can never be described
