I have no bad reports. They are usually really overwhelmed with patients and so you have to stay on top of your appointments or you will fall behind as it will take them a while to get you back in the scheduled, that is the only problem I have ever ran into with them. I would say they probably need more employees to cover the demand. The thing is they are a state funded organization so good luck with that. They definitely over charge you for treatment. Their facilities aren't the best....however there are some people here doing almighty work. One such person is Hakim. He is a counselor here. He is a good man with a good heart, he cares about people. I wish he would transfer to California and be my counselor there. He really helped to see many things in a different way. He's very passionate about his patients and the job he does. I would guess they don't pay him nearly enough for how valuable he is to this facility. I hope to see Hakim again one day. There is also Jay who is often the only nurse in the dispensery. A great guy and always has a kind word. I'll miss these guys very much....they probably have no idea how much what they do impacts people's lives....or maybe they do. Either way folks like them are rare in today world. Methadone is a safe medication, it stops withdrawals from illicit opiates and does not get the person in treatment "high", which allows the patient to get their lives back. Please educate yourself on methadone and methadone treatment centers. Elizabeth Weatherford 6 years ago Obviously the people saying "one addiction for another" has very limited understanding of this treatment and addiction. Yes, this treatment can take years. This verses cold turkey/abstaining is night and day with success rates. Or I like to call that the "just pray about it and hope" method. BTW it doesn't work. If it did, nobody would have an addiction. These people complaining are still failing drug test and trying to play the system. Eventually u have to admit defeat and surrender to ur recovery and stop trying to use illegal substances by counting days till ur testing is done or sneaking in urine or basically trying to manipulate ur recovery process. I promise u will get out of recovery what energy u put into it as well . Yes, there are a couple nursed that seem to not get we r patients and we pay thousands of dollars a year to be there and yet they treat us as if we r at the dmv. Well here is a perfect one… this past weekend my husband needed asap treatment while we were staying in town. We were warmly welcomed at 8pm at night. The waiting room was busy but everyone was getting cared for in a timely manner. The Dr, the ED nurses, were very attentive & caring. The Dr knew exactly what needed to be done. We thank them all for their immediate attention when it was needed most. And, the facility was clean. teresa s 2 weeks ago I struggled to find the words that would adequately describe my experience with Dr Tiv Johnson and his staff at Atrium Health Union. But I can tell you this ...I have since found that Healing starts the moment you know that you have found someone with the qualities that would generate a sense of gratifying peace and a quiet trust within you..something needed when you are in fear of imminent danger to your health. Dr Johnsons professionalism and expertise in his profession along with the outstanding end result of his work..far exceeded his dignified quit but discerning demeanor. My son spent 5 months at New Hope and he has come out with a lot more knowledge and a lot more tools to get through life than what he walked in with. Is he permanently changed? No one knows. But he received more help in the 5 months he was there than any other program we've attempted to do in his life. Hands down, you need a good therapist. We had the best. Nikki was amazing and made all the difference for us and for my son during his time there. The biggest challege is that your kid has to WANT help and WANT to change. New Hope can't make them want to change and do all the work for them. Sometimes understaffed? Sure. I can't imagine how incredibly difficult it is to keep fully staffed in a place like this. But most of those staff members really care about the kids, at least the ones who are doing what they need to do. My son built great relationships with most of the staff members, and today at his discharge, were all in tears, giving gifts, sending him off with so much love and hope for a brighter future. Not every day was great. Some days were harder than others. The outcome is what matters and we got the best outcome we could hope for. Thank you, New Hope and Nikki specifically, for all you have taught our son and all tools you provided in helping him to succeed in life. I hope the things he learned will stay with him forever. I know not everyone has had a positive experience there, but I certainly did. I was in the Compass group with Erin (PSS) and Madeline (counselor). For a long time, I had people telling me I needed to get sober, or even that I had to get sober, but Erin and Madeline were the ones who actually believed that I could. I think that’s what made the difference, along with the fact that they are completely non-judgmental. If you are honest with them and they see you are trying, they will truly go to bat for you. My case manager, Kira, also helped me with so much more than just my case. Whether it was clothing, medical appointments, transportation, or housing referrals, they are there to help; you just have to let them know what you need. I originally went to Keystone for MAT. To be honest, at first I just wanted my Suboxone and thought I could cheat the system (you can’t!). But what I have now is gratitude, hope, and excitement for the future. If I didn’t come here and continue treatment when I left I wouldn’t be alive. Thanks to my mom, she found this place, and a Higher Power who put me right where I needed to be. I liked it because there were medical professionals who treated me more than fair, even nice, and not overlooked or disrespected. They helped me come up with a plan that suited my needs. I was heard and felt I was safe. It was a secure place, not able to have my cell phone and had limited calling times and even harder abilities to get drugs, if I had more freedom I would have left and gotten high. Those detox days were hell, but the medicine they gave me to come off of substances helped. I opted out of MAT bc I used to abuse it. They had an enclosed smoking area too for us (which was considerate) and people from 12 step programs bringing hope. The facility played a video of a Celtics ball player who struggled with addiction and stayed clean. That video changed my life and gave me hope as I used to be an athlete. I had no insurance and they worked with my mom and I to sort out a payment plan. I payed them back once I got clean. 10/10 stars. ✨ Even more if I could. I didn’t attend outpatient treatment, although they offered a lot of services, because I went to a rehab across the state. I am so grateful I gave this place a chance to hold the fate of my life in it. I was in good hands. Most recently with my case manager Elizabeth Y. I gave up on life after my son died and couldn’t even leave the house. Elizabeth helped convince me that it was ok to ask for help and she helped me above and beyond. Elizabeth always made time to speak with me, and supported my decision to get the help I needed. She not only drove me to the hospital I was referred to, she stayed with me for hours (until I was admitted). She puts her whole heart into her job, she’s a great listener and provided helpful suggestions and additional resources. Elizabeth even called me at the hospital to check on me. I consider her part of my support system. Daymark is extremely lucky to have her, as I consider myself blessed to have her as my case manager. Also, they are the first doctors to spend over 30 mins each and every appointment! Every psychiatrist ive seen in the past (other practices) has you in and out of there office in 5 mins. I really appreciated having an evening option that works for people with 9-to-5 jobs. After a full workday, it’s a big commitment to attend several hours of programming, and having food available would make it easier to stay focused and present. Once his decision was made, Peggy instantly started moving mountains to get him the help he needed. She was in daily contact with his family offering her advice, supplying helpful contact information, and even talking him through his fears when they became too great and he wanted to run. As a result of Peggy's unrelenting quest to help Will, he has received a Certificate of Completion from the Midwood Addiction Program where he received counseling, housing, a sense of community, independence, and gradually took control of his life again. A little over a month after graduating, Will has found employment and is ready to start this new healthy chapter in his life. When asked if he ever talks to Peggy anymore, the answer is "yes! she's full of valuable resources.". How do you thank someone who has saved the life of someone you thought was lost forever? I can tell you the bad was not only exaggerated but most just someone salty and spreading total BS. There are no rodents and I've never been to a house that had zero bugs not even a fly before I got here, not even my father's house. Ok so these 2 floor some with a upper smoking/ lounge deck are nice nice! 4 bedroom 3 full double sink bathrooms , two with walk-in shower , I bath / shower and a half bath by living room. It's fully stocked with any pans coffee pot anything you need. The staff are some of the nicest ppl and you absolutely get to know them. You are treated pretty much how you treat them. Just be kind! Midwood center was the one I went to and the staff there are always awesome. If you need something just speak up, I've seen ppl come through and expect everyone to be mind readers. I would list everyone I love at Harmony but I'm horrible with names but there are standouts. Christine, Crystn (sik). Byron,Lisa, Miss Gail ( Amber always pushing DBT therapy 😬) Bobby, the tech who's name escapes me that calls everyone "Big Dog) And Lastly but firstly Miss Peggy who is the sweetest person I've ever met and she saved my life just by getting to know me calling my phone to talk to someone else. She had my back and actually drove to Salvation Army and helped me get insurance, talked me into Salvation Army in first place and bought my broke ass two packs of smokes She is absolutely a gift from God and deserves to be the highest paid at Harmony! The difference in Mcleod and otherr clincs is Mcleod is really set up to help you succeed. If you come to people as people and treat the staff with respect and understanding, they will do the same for you. I have dosed at the other clinic in Gastonia before I came to Mcleod and I prefer Mcleod 100 percent. Staff really does care here about your life and your recovery. Abby is wonderful and will do whatever she can to help you if you have a problem, the nurses are all nice and polite, the front desk ladies are always friendly and smiling (even at 5 am), my counselor is great, and the peer support staff (Karen) is wonderful as well. So like the other review said, " you get what you put in,." If you want to have a better quality of life and become and maintain your soberity, go to Mcleod, they have everything there to help you get where you need.
