My mom was there last week for several tests after being sick with a bad cough and no energy and passing out, and the hospital staff said all tests were clear and she was fine and sent her home. Now she is at Decatur Memorial Hospital after getting worse and diagnosed with pneumonia! St Mary s is terrible and would give less than one star if I could. Staff were very unkind to my 82 yo mom and treated her disrespectfully.

Accepted Insurance

Saint Mary’s Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Illinois is designed to help people recover from addiction to a number of substances. The length of each program and its intensity tend to vary, and the plan of care is based on your individual needs.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

The most awful hospital experience I've ever had. The nurse's and doctors were doing their best. With all the cuts that management has done, they might as well have tied their hand. I do not believe they should be excepting patients.

My son's had 4 or 5 new pediatricians in six years, and at the beginning of August I got ANOTHER letter stating his doctor is no longer seeing patients, in fact no one is seeing pediatrics at the hospital. I was given a list of 3 in network physicians and assumed I would be able to schedule an appointment promptly. Wrong. The earliest availability was Oct 1. So two entire months my son has zero access to a primary physician, even though we remain in network.Don't get me started on the answering service, you can't call any facility directly you have to go through the service and HOPE.I'm not sure who in the community the hospital serves anymore because it's not the women, children, or even mental health.

I would like to say 0!!! My dad was in the ED last Monday through Wednesday. He had fallen, injuries to 3 ribs and his back. He was kept on an ED stretcher with minimal (and late)pain meds. My sister in law had to become assertive and insist that he be evaluated to see if he met inpatient criteria. Not only did he, he was also moved to hospice status. The ED dr was so rut that family members had to insist that he stay away. My dad was screaming in pain and after a very long wait for nursing, could not get stronger meds. St Mary s treated him as though he was irrelevant and just taking up space. I sure pray for karma.Once transferred to 6th floor (only floor open), a very rude, male second shift nurse was put out that he had to complete the admissions process. There was a dirty IV pole in my dad s room with meds from the previous patient hung. My sister in law asked that it be removed. The nurse snipped at her and walked out. She moved the pole into the hall way. This really made him mad. Shortly after he made my step mother leave. Remember, my dad was hospice status.Once we made through all of this, the hospice nurse and the other nurses began thier work. Once that started, the moved to wonderful. Everyone went out of their way to keep my dad and our family comfortable. I know that once he was made hospice, the meds, etc became more available. But no one should ever have to endure what he and my family did. Please don t let anyone else go through this

Service is terrible, I stopped in for a blood test, after a hour in the waiting room I left. This isn t even the first time I have walked out after waiting too long. I could have driven across town, got my test, and driven home in less time than I wasted with HSHS. Honestly they should just close instead of starting a 3 year rebuilding campaign. With service this poor they won t have any patients left in 3 years.

I have been coming to St Mary s my entire life. I honestly do not know what has happened. They have gone from a compassionate caring Hospital to a corrupt greedy corporation.I have been having unforeseen health issues and have had many MRI s as well as many lab tests. EVERY time I go to admitting I am harassed by staff regarding my bill and that I need to pay my copay. In the past few months on one visit I was told I need to pay $85 for lab work. When statement from insurance came I owed nothing. This scenario happens all the time. When I confronted Denis on my last in admitting regarding this and how the amounts they are demanding are incorrect he replied that it is just an estimate. How do we go from demanding of a certain amount of money to an estimate? This also happened to my husband who is fighting cancer. He paid what they told him and when insurance statement came again he owed nothing. I tried to get reimbursement from business office but was denied saying they would hold for a future bill.I also learned they are using a call center in Wisconsin to schedule appointments. When speaking with this person they were rude and told me I needed to have bloodwork ordered. Their instruction was that I had to contact Dr to get labs ordered. When I asked what labs they said well if they are a Dr they should know what labs to order Totally disrespectful to patient and Dr.I was directed by radiology staff to reach out to supervisor that covers this area. I was given the name and # for Barb who is supervisor. While she listened to me she never offered any comment or concern except to say she would forward my complaint to Springfield. Big surprise I have heard nothing.I would prefer to take my business to another hospital but my Drs are affiliated with St Mary s.Not a hospital but a greedy money hungry corporation that doesn t seem to care for their patients unless they are rich.

I just brought a relative out here that has heart issues. He said they was releasing him so I came and was waiting. I was still waiting after half an hour and pulled up at the front. The security guard said I had to move. I explained to him that not even a minute ago, they changed their mind and said that they want to do a breathing treatment on him before he left. This is last minute Security Guard is really rude.

If you re going in alive , you wont come out alive. They accuse you of things that never happened like false drug testing and calling DCFS on a patient who was clean. They re very prejudiced against black people ( and I m white and witnessed this more than once or twice)! They re disgusting and pathetic!! Have you ever heard or know meaning of diverse, equity conclusion????

Throw back to the time I was brought in during a mental crisis.. locked in a room and knocked out with nothing but a table to lay on after being yelled at and threatened by someone that I did not know. They charge you 4000 dollars for this experience .Don't take your loved ones to this hospital.
