About Royal Life Centers at The Haven

Royal Life Centers at the Haven is located near Olympia, Washington, with beautiful views of the Cascade mountains. As a full service addiction treatment center for adult men and women, their services include medication assisted treatment (MAT), alcohol and drug rehab, and sober living support. They feature dual diagnosis treatment for people struggling with both addiction and mental health issues.

By the way, they refer to patients as guests. It’s one way staff helps people keep a sense of dignity and community during recovery.

Payment options include private insurance and self-pay. If you don’t have insurance coverage, you may qualify for financial assistance. The admissions team works closely with guests to verify insurance coverage and help minimize out of pocket costs.

Most guests start with medical detox, then move to residential inpatient treatment, followed by an optional 12-week aftercare program. Aftercare includes four weeks of partial hospitalization (PHP) and eight weeks of intensive outpatient care (IOP), incorporating individual, group, and family therapy.

Every program is tailored to meet guests where they are in recovery. Some find success with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), while others benefit from eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Believing in a holistic approach, yoga, meditation, expressive arts and equine therapy are all part of the program.

What stands out here is the culturally sensitive treatment for Native Americans and military veterans. It’s completely normal for veterans to face challenges with substance use and mental health. The Valor Program focuses on mental health issues like PTSD and combat-induced anxiety alongside substance use challenges.

As one of the first White Bison Certified Treatment Centers, they weave Native American tribal traditions and ceremonial practices into addiction treatment. It’s important to remember that asking for help with addiction is a sign of strength, and many Native Americans have successfully traveled similar paths.

If you’re considering addiction treatment, exploring Royal Life Centers at the Haven could be a great step toward healing. Their commitment to individualized care and respect for each guest’s unique background make them a standout choice for finding your way back to a healthier, happier life.

When me and my VA case manager chose Royal Life Centers for my residential program I felt like it was the right program for me and I wasn't mistaken. Upon intake I felt so welcomed, I felt accepted and I knew this is where I belong. The program in itself taught me a lot of things that I didnt know. Relapse prevention, Coping skills, how to deal with shame and guilt etc. We also went out for outside meetings, church and outing once a week bowling and or watching a movie. The staff really met all my needs. They are all very kind and genuinely cared for me. They are all approachable and genuinely listen to me at times when i needed to talk to someone. The counselors are just super knowledgeable. The food are great and having my own room gave me time to process whats going on with me. Ive met good friends in here which will be a part of my support group when I'm finished here and transition to the real world.I would definitely recommend this program to anyone that needs help and wanting to change their lives. My stay here will forever be on my memory lane. Thank you very much Royal Life Centers. Aloha.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
12-step icon12-Step
Each person’s journey in recovery is different. During your 12 Step Work, you learn the significance of the 12 Step program in your personal recovery process. They believe that the foundation of recovery from addictive disorders is based on the 12 Steps originating from Alcoholics Anonymous.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention Services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Due to the mistaken belief that an individual must hit bottom or voluntarily seek help, many people hesitate to stage interventions. This delay can be very dangerous for someone suffering with substance abuse. While interventions can motivate someone to seek help, they should only be performed by trained, qualified individuals.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Effective drug rehab in Washington integrates care for the whole person, offering comprehensive solutions to addiction. Treatment methods address mental, physical, and relational aspects of substance abuse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Often, substance use disorder originates with negative thinking patterns. Cognitive behavioral therapy in Washington is designed to help individuals change these patterns of thought, which leads to changes in behavior and freedom from addiction.

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a highly structured form of therapy that teaches skills to help participants change negative thoughts and behaviors. Applying a philosophy of acceptance and change, you'll learn and practice these skills to break unhealthy patterns and establish healthy ones.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Clinicians who apply motivational interviewing techniques engage with their clients as equal partners. This method avoids warnings and confrontation and instead allows clients to analyze their situation and explore their options. This technique is often used when the client feels unsure about their ability or desire to change.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Couples therapy can help a couple navigate their differences. By learning powerful interpersonal skills in therapy, the couple can work together to overcome challenges and change the direction of their relationship.

When you are addicted to drugs, your family also suffers. Your addiction destroys your family as much as it does yourself. They understand what your family goes through because most of their staff are recovering addicts themselves. They understand that support from your family is an important part of your recovery. During your initial consultation, they explain to your family how important their role is in your recovery. They then explain to them what to expect from you, how to behave around you and your needs during recovery.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

When your body is properly nourished, healing is much faster. That's why nutrition therapy is an important part of drug rehab in Washington. It helps you learn how to take care of your body so you can heal both mentally and physically from addiction.

Recreational therapy is a dynamic approach to drug and alcohol addiction treatments that integrates activities like gardening, music therapy, and sports. These activities give you a therapeutic outlet for your emotions and help you to reduce your stress levels. This protects your physical and mental health and helps you develop new skills that foster a sober lifestyle.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

My experience at Royal Life Centers in Lacey has been nothing but amazing. This rehabilitation center has changed my life. I am a veteran so I was able to stay for 45 days. Pros: The rooms are single rooms with a TV. The food is amazing and able to be customized for dietary needs. The gym is able to be utilized twice daily, and has a sauna. The group room has a large screen tv and all the channels you could want. Outside there is a basket ball hoop and large smoking area. There is a very nice massage chair for the guests that can be used at any time. The staff is amazing, they are there 24/7 and able to help out with any needs that may arise. The medical team monitors every area by camera except for the bathrooms. I like this because I had a seizure and the nurse was able to reach me within 30 seconds. The EMS arrived within minutes and I felt very safe and cared for. One of the staff sat by my bed at the hospital until I was discharged. Most of the staff are in recovery so they understand the detox phase and the struggles I went through. This place is very positive, they focus on recovery and provide the tools for us to stay in recovery upon discharge. We have 5 groups a day for 1 hour each session. There are opportunities to do outside trips for NA, AA, Wellbriety, Church, Sweat Lodge, Sober tailgate activities, and much more in a fun sober environment. There is so much good things to say, I feel like my sold self again. I love the fact that there are only 15 residents here at the maximum, so there is always a staff member to talk to when needed. This place is very veteran friendly, I absolutely recommend it. Cons: Not a lot, but the 30min checks were annoying at first, but I understand it is necessary to make sure we are ok, and I got used to it after a few days. Not having my phone was annoying, but again I understand why. We are allowed phone calls, but they are monitored. I honestly recommend this facility, it was so good, I am nervous about leaving, but I feel stronger and have the skills now to beat my addiction. Thankyou Royal, you have changed my life.

This is my first time being in a rehabilitation center so I have nothing to compare it to. The day I came in I was very anxious and scared but the staff was welcoming. My intake was done by Ricky. He never made me feel ashamed to being taking this next step to get myself better. He talked to me as if I were just a regular person. The medical nurses were very kind and gave me the medication I needed while also making sure I was comfortable with what they were giving me. Meals are provided daily a bedroom of my own. Cleanliness was well kept up. Daily groups about many different topics to learn how to understand and help with your addiction. I feel confident going into the 12 week outpatient program after my detox and inpatient here at royal life centers. I learned a lot and hope to keep myself healthy and hopefully never have to return.(in a good way) thank you to everyone that helped me through this recovery journey.

The staff is amazing! ALL the techs, the cook and the secretary work so hard and are way more than accommodating to anything you could need! If you are thinking about this place, call admissions and then you ll have to call the location in Lacey it s self to talk to someone working the front desk to see what the reality is.. the sales people from admissions are just that, and guarantee they have never been there. I am thankful I went because I did need to get sober and they did give me the tools I need which is awesome.. but nothing about this is a haven in anyway ASIDE from the employees you see on a regular basis they all rule and I truly do miss them. Payed out of pocket too and don t think I got my moneys worth at all.
