Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Our son came back from this very expensive program worse off than when he began. Some of that outcome was his doing, but much of it was due to the program's design and execution. Our son's primary tech addictions involved endless Internet searching and pornography; there was some excessive gaming, but that was a small piece of his overall problem. We were explicit about his challenges with the admissions director and their clinical director (and program founder); they assured us that their program was well suited to our son's needs, which convinced him and us to give reSTART a try. In reality, the program was almost completely focused on gaming addiction, not other forms of technology addiction. If gaming is your issue, perhaps reSTART would be a decent choice. Otherwise, it's not a program we can recommend, based on our experience. Our major areas of dissatisfaction are summarized below. Our son was transitioned to a different primary therapist partway through the program, with poor results. His conversations with other participants led him to conclude that he did not have a serious problem. The program's reliance on "tough love" boundary setting backfired. Their 'naturopath' (they don't have psychiatrists or MDs on staff or on call, which is surprising for a program focused on mental health issues) adjusted our son's medication against the advice of his psychiatrist -- and did not monitor the impact of that change -- which led to a deterioration in his mental equilibrium. He was assigned an incompatible roommate when he transitioned to Open World, with very poor results. When he experienced a mental health crisis, reSTART sent him home with minimal transitional care. The staff is dedicated to their mission, and some of them seem to be exceptionally competent. However, the program does not use any standard diagnostic tools to assess or monitor the severity of its clients' tech addiction, which means that our son's progress was a matter of subjective opinion. When we noted concerns with our son's treatment, we were told that they would be addressed 'in the next stage,' but they never were. At times it felt like those concerns were being dismissed, while our liaison was painting a generally positive picture of how our son was progressing week to week -- until there was an objective benchmark to be met, when we were told he wasn't ready to transition to the next stage of the program. Throughout his reSTART experience, we didn't get a clear picture of his deterioration until he ended up in crisis and was sent home. Since then, there has been no follow-up, no inquiry as to how he is doing, and no apparent interest from reSTART in understanding why the program failed. One final observation: participation in a 12-step program is a critical aspect of the program. Before spending the +/- $100k for reSTART, it might be worthwhile to give a local 12-step program a real try.

As a healthcare organization, we cannot directly respond to online reviews due to privacy laws. What we can do however, is talk very briefly and generically about our program and approach. As a healthcare team, it is both our duty and responsibility to engage in a continuous improvement process. Over the past decade, we ve strived to improve every aspect of our care. In areas where we fall short, our goal is to improve. One of our long-term goals has been to provide better follow-up care. In some follow-up cases we shine, in others, we miss the mark, and in so doing, we evaluate what went wrong and address areas of future growth. The important thing to consider here is that follow-up care is essential and recommended no matter what treatment program a person engages in. It is an essential part of recovery, and particularly helpful when dealing with comorbid mental health issues. Reach out to your providers if they haven t yet reached back out to you. Talk to them about your specific concerns. We realize, with COVID, that many healthcare organizations are stretched thin. Bring these types of issues up with your healthcare team and ask for clarity, referrals, and support. Work together to find solutions post-treatment. As a whole, we believe strongly in the entire team working together to provide the best care possible. We are not simply a company providing services, we are caring individuals and providers who believe in the benefits of embracing a healthy sustainable lifestyle. We believe in putting in the extra hours, time, and energy that an individual may need it's what makes the job meaningful for us. We want to ensure care can smoothly continue once back home, or at the very least, that appropriate referrals are in place if the client refuses care. To this end, we coordinate closely with at-home providers to help increase the chances of a smooth transition for the client, as we are just one stop along their journey. Whether it s our in-house physicians, direct care, counseling staff, leadership, outside providers, psychiatrists, or the prior inpatient facilities that clients may have attended, we all need to work together to help someone living with mental health concerns. Each of our multi-disciplinary providers are appropriately trained and licensed and act within their respective scopes of practice and attend additional industry trainings regularly throughout the year. We have systems in place both internally, with daily case discussions and supervision, and externally through diligent care coordination regarding members of a client s outside care team. This leads to a lot of time and energy that we believe is well-spent coordinating care for our clients. We do this to enrich the client experience with a deeper, more personalized level of care and to provide them with the best opportunity for recovery. Not everyone who seeks treatment has a positive outcome. And while we ve witnessed many success stories over our long history, sadly, there are cases where a person is not yet ready, willing, or able to change. While we know intuitively that we can t reach everyone, we still operate from a place of hope that things will improve. We do our best to meet clients where they re at, believing that clients will move towards a healthier more sustainable future. For many, this means assisting them with their newfound autonomy, life-skills development, and accountability. It s about gaining the ability to take ownership of their lives and moving away from old destructive patterns. Unfortunately, we cannot do this difficult work for them, and it is heart-wrenching as providers (and loved ones) when a person does not to change. When clients fall short of desired goals, as does happen on occasion, we hope that the lessons learned in treatment will be readily accessible later on. The reSTART Team

Had a terrible experience here. After you re out of the main program it is a terribly run iop. They basically send you out, and give you very little help. When I went it was poorly managed, and while I was difficult I did not get the help I needed. They sent me to another treatment center, saying if I went there I d be able to reattend. Unfortunately they lied, pulled a fast one, and I had to come all the way back to California and ship my car back too. Overall the main program is okay, however after you re out (at least in my experience ) don t expect much.Update: I was kicked out. So yeah, leaving wasn t my problem. However lying to me about going to a program that could potentially help me, for an extra cost in being promised I could return was a really disgusting move. They also had CLIENTS. Vote me out. It wasn t the program decision. Which should never be up to clients. It s very hurtful.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your kind words about our intensive program, and we're sorry that our outpatient program did not meet expectations. Although it may feel frustrating to leave a program, our overall hope for clients is that they find wrap around care that works for them in reaching their long-term goals. Wishing you well.

I stayed with reSTART at the end of 2013. After graduating college I was confronted with the harsh reality that I didn't have the skills or confidence to take on life. I had been using gaming and the internet as a way to ignore life's difficulties and run away from that reality. When I tried to stop and couldn't, I decided to reach out for help- which led me to reSTART.My stay with reSTART was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I grew in ways I could have only hoped and left changed. There were challenges along the way, but reSTART provided a safe place for me to explore who I wanted to be and to learn what a sustainable life looks like. I am so grateful for the time I spent with reSTART!

This program and the people working there are truly amazing. Not only do they live in one of the most gorgeous, quiet places in the country, but they enhance each resident's quality of life in so many ways. Residents and employees are exposed to all kinds of experiences and real life scenarios in which they learn how to function in this increasingly complicated world. The environment is one of teamwork and support - in all programs they offer. Don't hesitate in involving yourself with these incredible people! Thanks for doing what you do reSTART - keep it up!

Good people and great atmosphere to be in. The location isn't too far away from major cities. and the property/surrounding area is beautiful. The staff are welcoming and helpful, and overall understanding of the circumstances. If you're considering a program to enroll in, definitely give this place a look.
