About Recovery Centers of America at Danvers

Recovery Centers of America at Danvers provides substance abuse treatment in Danvers, Massachusetts. They have detox, residential and outpatient programs for a complete continuum of care.

Your recovery begins with an assessment to help the team determine your appropriate level of care. Medically supervised detox is available with 24 hour supervision to ensure safety. They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) to lessen withdrawal symptoms and reduce drug cravings. This service is often the first phase of recovery treatment. They use FDA approved medicines to provide more comfort during this stage.

Inpatient treatment provides a supportive, structured setting where guests can focus on recovery without outside distractions. Residents have a rigorous schedule with routines that encourage sobriety. Outpatient care includes more flexibility and is best for those who want to live at home and continue working or attending school while getting treatment.

Guests attend individual therapy sessions where they can uncover the root causes of their addiction. Counseling emphasizes developing coping skills, recognizing substance use triggers, and designing a customized treatment plan based on your recovery needs.

Group therapy sessions allow opportunities with others in recovery where connections are encouraged. They provide a supportive network for your sobriety and may offer valuable feedback for your recovery.

You’re encouraged to attend 12 Step meetings like Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous. These meetings include peer based support, and you can work on accepting accountability and responsibility for your sobriety.

Aftercare is available with their Alumni Association. The group creates a supportive network and may involve continued therapy and community support meetings for ongoing recovery efforts. They accept many insurance plans and have an admissions team to help verify your specific coverage.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Detox programs are a critical part of an alcohol and drug rehab program for many patients. Detoxification can pose serious health risks and must be carried out under medical supervision. Medications may be involved to ensure a safe withdrawal while helping to ease the pain and discomfort often associated with withdrawal symptoms. Patients undergoing detox are closely monitored 24 hours a day by physicians and other medical staff. It’s important to understand that detox alone is never considered a full course of treatment. It’s often a necessary first step for many patients, and it prepares them to move on to their next level of outpatient or residential care.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Initial recovery can and should be boosted by a residential treatment program. They offer a complete holistic health experience at Westminster, providing state-of-the-art personalized treatment. You’ll enjoy an integrated health experience complete with modern, comfortable, and classically appointed accommodations within their residential treatment program.

12-step icon12-Step

First created in 1935 by the group Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), this program has spawned multiple 12-step fellowships and has, through the concepts of honest self-evaluation and affirmation of certain virtuous principles, become a staple of alcohol and drug rehab programs. The values of the 12-step program are omnipresent throughout our treatment plans. Recovery Centers of America helps their patients replace negative people, places and things with positive people, places and things. They believe in every patient’s ability to learn and thrive with good treatment, and that a rigorous 12-step foundation enables patients to transition successfully into a life of recovery.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn’t spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. It’s a top priority at the Boston Center for Addiction Treatment to provide continued support to their patients beyond their stay. Their Alumni program offers them a chance to connect with others who’ve been on similar paths, as well as the support needed to remain successful.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Addiction is a highly complex problem, and drug rehab in Massachusetts is often necessary to address it. These programs treat physical, mental, and relational issues that are involved. Treatment empowers individuals to manage these issues without the use of drugs.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. At The Boston Center for Addiction Treatment, their Family Program offers the education, skills, and support needed for family members to join the journey of recovery. Addiction impacts not just the sufferer, but the family as well – and they’re there to help.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

If you are experiencing intense, negative emotions, dialectical behavior therapy can help you learn how to regulate painful emotions and manage the interpersonal situations that generate them. This method is often used during substance use treatment in Massachusetts to help you develop better coping skills and avoid relapse.

RCA is one of the best recovery places I ve been too. I was hesitant when I read some reviews but this was a great experience! People expect this to be a 5-star hotel when in reality this is a place to focus on your recovery. Being sober for 2 months so far thanks to this place. I m now in the IOP program at RCA and it s also one of the best programs I ve been too

I can't say enough great things about RCA Danvers. Most of the staff are in recovery themselves and they really care about the patients and their experiences in recovery. The alumni support after you complete the program is fantastic. Please do yourself a favor that will last a lifetime and get the gift of recovery from RCA Danvers!

RCA was life changing. The facility was pristine but really it was the staff that made my stay so transformative. You can tell they really care they take the time to get to know you and help you on your journey as you rediscover life. Without them I don t know if I would still be sober today.

Recovery Centers of America was the best thing that has ever happened to me. My whole life has changed because of RCA. Everything from individual sessions to group therapy to learning how to maintain a healthy living environment changed my life. I am now doing things I have never done before and have a plan to go back to school and seek employment. I am going 100 days clean and sober and feel better than ever! They specialize in great aftercare and work with each individual specifically for their needs. Also being part of the RCA Alumni is amazing as they offer support even after discharge. Thank you RCA.

RCA Danvers is the only place I'd ever go to if need be again. The staff are amazing and always have extra resources and aftercare information to help you in your recovery. RCA doesn't have one form of recovery and works with you through the different types and benefits. You are granted therapy sessions and one-on-ones with recovery counselors that you feel fit your needs. Food is great and beds are comfortable. They have most of what you'll need coming in, and have a great program. Wouldn't recommend anywhere else!Edit: That being said the outpatient is structured poorly still, has no staff, and seems to put perfection before progress so this will go from 5 to 3 stars. But it is still an amazing inpatient!Thank y'all!~Jon P

I recently completed treatment and RCA Danvers, and it was an absolutely amazing experience to start my journey of sobriety. The facility is clean, comfortable beds and televisions in each room. There is a very nice gym with a courtyard so you can work on your physical health or just relax outdoors. The food is very good for a treatment facility, and I was able to work directly with a nutritionist to meet my individual nutritional needs and the kitchen made sure to accommodate that. The core curriculum is the best I ve experienced - I ve been to other treatments before. They even have a recording studio and I was able to record two songs. The best thing about RCA Danvers is by far their staff. Though all are kind and courteous, my counselor Jill went above and beyond in everything she did and helped me incredibly during my time here. She was promoted to Alumni Coordinator during my stay and I am looking forward to keeping in touch with RCA and her alumni meetings and events. Overall, I would highly recommend RCA Danvers and continuing to be a part of their alumni network.

Lots of positive things to say, nice clean facility, decent amenities, great food, it was definitely one of the better facilities. ~50% of the staff are awesome, experienced in recovery and knowledgeable, and willing to help.Unfortunately, the other 50% know nothing about recovery, or their job.The rant... How can a person from another continent who barely speaks english and knows nothing about addiction or recovery work in a detox or css? I overheard staff bashing "these type of people" (Addicts.) Way to go Maxwell. Hearsay is apparently enough to get you discharged so be careful who you upset.I wish you the best on your journey.

Went only to detox, which I made perfectly clear on the phone during intake. I absolutely just did not have the option to stay longer than to detox. However, they placed me in the 30 day program without even explaining that to me. I was there for 6 days and the only time I met with anyone was on the 5th day but I had to go find them, it was my case manager. I'm guessing I would have never met with a single person otherwise. When I finished my detox and was ready to leave, it took 6 and a half hours for them to give me my phone, wallet and purse. I felt like I was in a legit prison. Most of the staff is overworked, tired and rude. As soon as the staff heard I was leaving, they all started treating me like garbage (not like they treated me good before that) but for the 6 and a half hours as I was waiting for someone to give me my possessions, I felt so much animosity towards me I almost contemplated leaving without my things however I would have been stranded and hour away from my home without my phone or wallet so leaving just wasnt an option. They don't care about you, they only care about how much money they can make off you. Bright side - that place was so traumatizing I know I can never go back and after I got home, I remained clean.
