For months, I have been dealing with surprise charges and deceptive billing practices from this place! In addition, when I first posted a review here about surprise charges on my card (after failing to get a clear answer from them directly), the Clinical Director called me, yelled at me and threatened retaliatory action if I didn t take down the review.Nua refunded me the excess amount charged to my card, and I removed that review. Unfortunately, two weeks later they re-billed me the amounts they had refunded me!! Maybe they thought I wouldn t notice - it felt very deceptive! They have also continued to send me erroneous bills months on.At one point when I asked their admin about a surprise excessive bill, I was told disregard this bill for now - the admin then charged my card on file and made the refund contingent on me resolving a mistake they made 3 months ago with insurance, which is impossible since I don t own a time machine and it s also not my job to fix their mistakes. It was pretty ridiculous.Overall, the provider was nice but dealing with their billing/admin team has been a real life horror story.

NUA has truly been a game changer for me and my family! It really starts with the staff and their approach. They aren t simply seeing patients; they see whole people! They ve been amazingly resourceful not only in sessions, but also with pointing me and my family to outside resources when it comes to things they don t offer. They take the time to ensure they find the right fit for each person. I d highly recommend them any day of the week!

Accepted Insurance

Pacifica Counseling works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Effective drug rehab in Washington integrates care for the whole person, offering comprehensive solutions to addiction. Treatment methods address mental, physical, and relational aspects of substance abuse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Where to begin? NUA was my choice for help when I hit my bottom and knew I needed serious help. I chose NUA for their wellness and CBT approach to looking at addiction- alcohol in my case. NUA's kindness and professional approach is on point... from IOP to continued weekly sessions on the heels of completing the program, I have so many new tools added to my arsenal... I am a 12-step AA fella, but NUA doesn't push that agenda, which was welcomed in my decision... They don't feel hospital-like sterile, so I felt like a human rather than a patient. I am filled with gratitude as I look to what I learned, and continue to learn from NUA, and am so glad I took the leap and made that initial call to get on the path of sobriety.

I reached out to Nua when I was first considering recovery from alcoholism. It was great meeting with them. I later joined their program. It was a good group of about five members and a counselor. I felt like I belonged and was making progress. Then our counselor abruptly left Nua. Everyone was thrown into a large group. It was difficult to share. We spent half the time just reading PDF files. Then after I opened up about a relapse, I was removed from group. This didn't make sense to me. Nua stopped responding to my emails and site messages. My experience might be an anomaly. I don't want to deter anyone from seeking treatment. It just hurts to feel neglected by people who were supposed to help. In any case, I joined a local AA meeting and have been sober since leaving Nua.

Hi Brandon, thank you for very much for taking the time to share your experience in our group. We appreciate the feedback regarding the curriculum, and we were able to take this into effect and release an entirely new format at the beginning of this year. We apologize if you felt that you were not supported during your transition out of group. Nua s process, alike other treatment facilities, is to meet with a client individually before they return to group. This allows us to make treatment plan updates and make sure that you have a clear path on what the next steps are. We are happy to hear that you are doing well and we would happily welcome you back into group if you are wanting more support in addition to your AA meetings. We wish you all the best!

Nua has helped in various stages of my addiction. When I was young and not ready to quit, I didn't take full advantage of the services here being offered to me, but I never forgot how kind and down to earth and awesome and understanding Erin Lynch was. That's why 7 years later when Id had enough of my using lifestyle and was ready to move forward in a new direction, I contacted Erin again and was welcomed back with open arms, without judgement. I took away one star because of 1) bad experience with one of the main staff during my return (her curriculum for group was very unhelpful and a waste of time) 2) high turnover for staff, two out of the three counselors I did find very helpful and wonderful left the company. Overall Nua has been very supportive and flexible in tailoring the program to my specific needs, and helping me no matter where I'm at in life.

Hi Erin, thank you for taking the time to share this. We value this feedback about the curriculum for group and are happy to share that we released a entirely new structured curriculum at the beginning of this year with weekly topics and other tools pulled from DBT, CBT and Relapse Prevention. Feedback like this allows us to make improvements and is greatly appreciated!

I have been a client of Nua for a number of years, and for a variety of mental health-related & addiction-related services. I cannot recommend them highly enough. My therapist, Erin, goes above and beyond to not only meet with me weekly, but also welcomes additional check-ins, and offers additional resources (both inside and out of Nua s services).

I've been engaging with Nua Counseling for ~4 months and my experience has been nothing short of extraordinary. The staff are well educated and trained to assist with the struggles that may come with addiction and goes above and beyond to ensure their clients are supported.Their ability to adapt to peoples personal experiences to provide suitable treatment is amazing. Along with being in such unprecedented times, Nua has committed themselves to providing resources and additional support as Covid is making an impact.Nua intakes all external circumstances which may have an affect on ones well being, and create an effective plan to help one reach their full potential. Support is the Pillar, Lifestyle Fulfillment is the Plan, Recovery is the Purpose!

I called them to learn more about their program. Free 30min phone call to get all my personal info, insurance, tell me a little about them and answer questions. Then they send a spreadsheet to fill out to see if its a good choice for you, and if they want to accept you. That being said, they didn't accept for whatever reason, and I never have been a customer. However, they tried billing my insurance $350.00 for that general call! LOL, sketchy. Use caution.

I've struggled with alcoholism for decades and have tried to quit on my own many times to no avail. In 2020, when things got really bad, I called around to several treatment centers for help but they were either very expensive and/or didn't take my insurance. I finally spoke with one professional who recommended Nua. From the very beginning, everyone at Nua was kind, compassionate and very helpful. It isn't like a traditional 12 step program. In fact, being in treatment at Nua has given me an opportunity to get to know myself through a more holistic approach...I especially loved the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy exercises. In our current world of uncertainty and isolation, Nua gave me a chance to meet "my tribe" in meetings. I felt a sense of connection, welcoming and support that has been vital on my path of recovery. Everyday, I am profoundly grateful for Erin, Haley and the rest of the team that has been there for me every step the way as well as helping me through some pretty scary parts of a DUI.This is the longest I have been sober in my adult life and that is definitely something. I highly recommend this program to anyone suffering in their addiction.
