I don't leave reviews... so the one and only review that I will leave will be for the place that gave me a hope when I had none. I went to this facility July 9, 2018. One of the instructors there said that he had never relapsed and when he picked up his chip he wasn't going back to have to pick it up again. This challenged me... I have been sober for 6 years now. This facility taught me surrender. It taught me humility. It gave me a soft cushion to land while learning these lessons about the terrible person I was. It offered me a hand to help me up... most of all... it gave me a plan of how to live and never get back into the condition I had gotten myself into. I carry the Big Book with me everywhere I go in my van with my now 3 children. I am a child of God, I am a wife, and I am a mother. Thank you Owls Nest Recovery... may you be proud of the difference you make in the world. You are making sober soldiers that carry this message to others. God is moving in this place... keep it up!

I went to the Owls nest expecting to get sober. All I got was a con job by the owner. What a terrible sober experience ad. I continue to struggle with alcohol to this day, but I will never forget my awful experience that I.

Half of these 5 star reviews are from people that work/worked there. They literally call it AA community college. Men get preferential treatment. They get to work on site, females aren't allowed to work in the kitchen (except for this one time a female was) I spent 6 wasteful months of my life living in Florence SC. They let you work at bars and restaurants when you're trying to recover from alcohol/drugs. 0/10 from yours truly, Allie.

Accepted Insurance

Owl’s Nest Recovery Community works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

I entered this program in March of 2022. About that time I rated The Nest at 5 stars. Being 2 years into this and seeing some of the reviews I figured I would share my experience. The years leading up to coming to The Owl's Nest obviously weren't fun, enjoyable, or productive. I had run my life into the ground financially, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Today all of those have worked themselves out. The staff when I came through did what they could with what they had. Being heavily involved in the community still to this day it has done nothing but improve. The clinical that everyone gets at any facility is useful and they do it great there. The difference, the key, is part of the program is working the 12 steps of AA. It is taught in such a broken down way that the people that don't get it weren't listening. The staff has always been fantastic and done everything in their power to be helpful. This place should not be called a rehab or a treatment center. On the outside looking in that is what it seems, but any old treatment center can pump people in charge insurance and turn them out. This place cares about you on an individual level and shows you a new way of life one free of judgment, opinions, and more. It has allowed me to live life on life's terms and not pick up something because I'm happy or sad or bored. It should be called a spiritual retreat, because for the alcoholic or addict that is the root of my internal condition. A smart person that still works there says "I no longer let external things dictate my internal condition". If that's something that sounds appealing The Owl's Nest is the only place I know where to get it.

This program helped me change my life. I am thankful for the program and the staff. My therapist encouraged me to be vulnerable and helped me work through my problems and situations. I used to be really angry and fight people before I came here, but now I am at peace and I am very grateful for The Owls Nest.

My loved one was there 5 months, sponsor assigned was out of touch and too old for his role. Case manager assigned for my loved one was lazy and incompetent. This facility was very run down. There are good staff there but clinical staff are incompetent regarding dual diagnosis and how to manage. The discharge plan was thrown together at 9:00 at night. No psychiatric follow up for discharge, they lost his medication at discharge. It is entirely up to the loved one with substance misuse disorder to have a plan for managing their everyday life but my loved relapsed within 5 days after discharge. With dual diagnosis residents family needs to be considered and involved in the treatment plan. This never happened. Would never recommend this facility for someone with an unstable psychiatric disorder. Staff are just not trained on the latest. The Owls Nest gladly accepted the insurance money for services not competently rendered.

How do I put into words my experience at the Owls Nest... I've been sober since 7/27/23...The Owls Nest is the best place to start your recovery journey!!! My journey in my sobriety has introduced me to some awesome people!! My 6 to 7 months there provided me with the most amazing knowledge, I plan to stay around Florence, practicing living in the now!!!

The Owls Nest saved my life. The staff are very caring. The food is great. But most of all, the message and dedication to the 12 steps of AA for addicts and alcoholics is what makes the program so successful and why it is hands down the best recovery center I have ever been to, and I've been to many. If you are struggling and need help, pick up the phone and call the Nest.

I was addicted to heroin and crack for 17 years. I ve been to rehab after rehab with no success. I arrived at the owls nest Dec2023 broken mentally and hardly able to walk. This place helped me change my life. They gave me something I never had Hope I was taught a better way of life and how to get back up when I fall. The staff that carry the message at the Owls Nest are second to none. These people genuinely care and will do anything within reason to help clients learn to live life and accept what life throws at you. Putting it all into words is hard but if your reading this and thinking about becoming a client or have a loved one who needs help I m telling you this place is absolutely amazing.

1st time, I failed! But recovery is possible. It depends on you. I am currently looking into a beach front medical rehabilitation recovery program for my own mental health and peace of mind. Inn & out patient approved! Recovery is hard! NOT RECOVERING IS EVEN HARDER!!!
