About Oregon Trail Recovery LLC

Oregon Trail Recovery is an addiction rehabilitation center in Milwaukee, Oregon. They offer various treatment options like detox, intensive outpatient care and sober living homes. They are Joint Commission accredited and are known to deliver superior quality and personalized care. Their medical detox is facilitated through their partner, Pacific Crest Trail Detox. Detoxification is delivered in a safe, structured and conducive environment supervised by an experienced team of physicians and therapists. If you’ve already detoxed, you can continue your recovery journey through their intensive outpatient program.

This three to six month recovery program helps you stay clean and teaches you how to apply sobriety tools daily. It’s great that their recovery facility is clean, homelike and equipped with modern amenities. Groceries and basic house supplies are provided. You’ll even enjoy quality three square meals daily. When you think about it, these services can impact your recovery journey. Separate recovery programs are available for men and women. However, the core services are relatively the same. This encompasses daily group sessions, weekly individual therapy and 12-step meetings.

The group sessions involve various aspects of recovery, such as relapse prevention, life skills development and addiction education. Proven therapeutic techniques like CBT and DBT are used to support your recovery, address underlying issues and help you develop solid coping strategies. They even offer spiritual sessions, meditation, and mindfulness. This can further reinforce your emotional resilience, coping skills and overall wellbeing. Physical fitness is also a key element of this program as it helps relieve stress, boost mood and improve sleeping habits. This is good for your mental health.

You’ll also participate in outdoor adventures in gorgeous areas within the facility. This may involve trips to Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood and Forest Park. Engaging in these activities with your peers fosters a sense of pride, community, and satisfaction which is essential for recovery. In addition, the services include educational support and vocational support. This may include helping you create a winning resume, mock interviews or job placement. Other services are community integration and peer support. The women’s program may involve services like childcare and parenting classes that are particularly relevant for primary caregivers.

You can also take advantage of their sober living program to ease your transition back into everyday life and maintain lasting sobriety. Past clients overwhelmingly praised the facility for their quality and impressive recovery service.

Accepted Insurance

Oregon Trail Recovery LLC works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
They help you take the life skills that you learned in residential treatment and transfer those skills of sobriety into everyday living with their long-term intensive outpatient program. Together, with your peers in the program, you will have a safe place to stay that is drug and alcohol free, with food and living necessities provided. They help you create resumes, do mock interviews, or complete your financial aid forms. However you want your outpatient drug treatment to look, they will help you get there. You can become a productive member of society again, and they can help.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are generally predicated on the understanding that addiction disease is chronic and relapsing and the recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing care. Clients in drug rehab aftercare have typically completed inpatient detox and/or rehab but may still be receiving outpatient treatment. Their unique care plan is usually developed in collaboration with their care team and case manager and may include peer coaching, career counseling, 12 step program facilitation, and related services.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Clients reside in their structured sober living homes, in which they live with a group of peers and a live-in staff member of Oregon Trail Recovery. All of the clients’ food is provided for them, as well as high use items and amenities such as laundry soap, cleaning supplies, utensils, kitchenware, toilet paper, and paper towels. The transitional living structure of Oregon Trail Recovery, LLC. encourages the client to not only become involved with their recovery but to become involved with their new found life. This includes discovering new stimulating and healthy activities such as hiking in one of the local nature trails and parks accessible by public transit in the greater Portland area, exploring the local museums such as OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industries), and enriching themselves in the art and culture of the Pacific Northwest all while taking in its gorgeous, natural splendor.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a more intensive form of outpatient and can be a step-down service in substance use disorder treatment. During PHP treatment, which lasts 4-8 hours per day and up to 5 days a week, you'll participate in daily therapeutic services (relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy) for an average of 90 days. The cost of PHP treatment varies, but it is typically covered by insurance providers.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Oregon offers a full continuum of care for those struggling with addiction. From detox, to inpatient, to outpatient, to aftercare, Oregon residents can find the support they need for recovery. This treatment empowers individuals to replace drug use with positive alternatives and develop a healthier lifestyle.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

For couples in Oregon, couples therapy can provide insight into the problems in their relationship. The therapist guides the couple to a greater understanding of themselves and each other. They work individually and together to change how they interact and react to challenges in the relationship.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Recreational therapy is often offered within a holistic treatment center that addresses drug and alcohol addiction treatment. It integrates activities like hiking, art, and team sports to improve physical and mental health. These activities give you an outlet to express your emotions and reduce your stress levels while fostering social connections.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

During experiential therapy in Oregon, the therapist focuses on your perceptions of what you're experiencing while engaging in activities such as art, music, wilderness adventures, or animal care. The therapist will help you explore your emotions and their meaning to help you work through past experiences and cope with trauma, hurt, and anger.

Recently finished my seven day detox. This place is as good as it gets as far as detoxing. The understanding and compassion the staff has is incomparable. Always a nurse on site. The freedom they give you while in detox goes a long ways. If you re thinking about changing your life, here is a perfect starting point.

Its been a little bit over a year since I entered Oregon Trail Recovery's detox center Pacific Crest Trail. The Detox staff was accommodating, caring and knowledgeable. What I realized that while necessary, Detox was just the first step. My attitudes on life and my behaviors had to change as well. After I got out of Detox, I went to live in Oregon Trails PHP house for 30 days and attended their outpatient program. What Oregon Trail did for me was helped me gain the coping skills that I was lacking. It gave me the tools that I needed to deal with life in sobriety and just life in general.Oregon Trails program isn't a large scale, hospital like rehab center. Its program is tailored to the individuals that attend. They treat you like a person and work with you in your recovery. With them, you aren't just a number in a revolving door facility. It is very personal and I felt treated with care and respect the entire way.I started with two group sessions a day, we set recovery goals and over the last year I have slowly tapered down to 1 group and a one on one session a week. They have been able to work with me by providing group settings, personalized one on one counseling and helping to provide a support group that I needed to maintain sobriety.A special thanks to Lloyd former counselor, Brian former house manager, Gerald house manager, Brett counselor, Sam office manager, Kristen clinical supervisor and Ben owner/ counselor. Also thanks to all detox staff, Oregon Trail employees and other patients/peers. You guys cared for me when at the time, I really didn't care for myself and have provided me with the support I needed to pick myself up and move forward. Thank you for helping me turn my life around and helping me through this journey of discovery.
