Accepted Insurance

New Found Life Rehabilitation Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Per session payment lets you pay for each treatment at the time of service. You may also pay for a certain number of sessions up front and then pay for more if needed. This format allows you to tailor the financial investment to your specific needs and avoid having a large lump sum payment due at the end of the treatment program.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. New Found Life's residential treatment center is home-style living that offers a structured and safe environment in which individuals can work with clinicians and experts in the field of recovery without life stresses. An environment in which they can “rehabilitate.” There are various treatment modalities available to those suffering from addiction. At New Found Life, they believe the most effective way to arrest the disease is through a comprehensive program.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex & Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
During the first phase of recovery – detox – it is crucial to have 24-hour clinical care in California. This care provides constant monitoring in order to ensure your safely and comfort as you progress through the withdrawal process for drug or alcohol addiction. Licensed professionals prescribe medications to treat withdrawal symptoms and provide frequent monitoring to ensure your safely as addictive toxins leave your system.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

For clients who are struggling with ambivalence toward change, motivational interviewing in California can help strengthen their commitment to change. Using a conversational method, the therapist helps you explore your motivations and empowers you to make the changes you desire.

Trauma therapy is a structured approach used by therapists to help you heal from a past traumatic event. Your therapist works with you to identify the traumatic memory and process the information so you experience emotional healing and a sense of safety and stability.

The goal of couples therapy in California is to strengthen the couple's relationship. The therapist may take one or more approaches to counseling which may include the Gottman method, emotionally focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic couple's therapy.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation. Family counseling sessions are available to family members and residents at New Found Life. They can be arranged at their facility or if they cannot travel to New Found Life, they can be conducted over the phone. This is a great opportunity for all participants to share their feelings about the disease and how it has affected them as a family.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

This place saved my life! Walked in on 07/12/2020 and wish I never had to leave. I do not have any other treatment center experience, but NFL makes sure you are more than a patient. They become family!

My daughter went to 6 different treatment centers before New Found Life. The program is amazing. They guided her along the way, treatment, finding a job, moving to the apartment of NFL, holding her accountable. It is not like the other programs, 4 weeks you are done. So blessed that she went there. Changed her life in so many positive ways.

In the realm of very best chances to gain a quality meaningful life of sobriety, this is one of them. I came to New Found Life after struggling to get sober for about a year. I would get some sober time built up and then relapse again. All the while, I sincerely wanted sobriety at the time and was going to a meetings every day, talking to a sponsor and doing outpatient twice a week. Finally, I felt that I had needed 24/7 inpatient. I was recommended New Found Life. I went with suggestion and really felt like I ended up in the best possible place. They have a guys house and a girls house and take people in of all ages from all different backgrounds so there is an eclectic mix of people with a common goal or situation. The main reasons this place is unique and why I believe it worked for me.... They put you into action and allow you to get out of your own head throughout the program by going to meetings with the rehab house and doing service work. You are encouraged to get phone numbers of other alcoholics/addicts and practicing calling people and doing other things (contrary action) that you may not otherwise do for the betterment of yourself. After some time in the house, you will have the opportunity to go out on pass with other sober alcoholic/addicts in recovery. New Found Life also stays connected with you in the way of support after your stay as much as you allow. They also offer a door to door sober living arrangement that is very structured to transition to after staying in the main rehab house. As I write this, I am just shy of 8 years sober having gotten sober in the NFL program. I have been able to pursue dream passions and work hard at a career in hospitality. My ability to cope with challenges in sobriety has gradually gone up as I practice principals that I learned back in the program/house and in my continued program of sobriety. This place has great relatable MOD's (managers on duty) and a great director. They are serious about working the program and tell you what you need to hear which is priceless (not what you want to hear). After experiencing multiple geographies, Long Beach is a particularly magical place to get sober. The community is amazing in the 12-step programs and you will hear others put the community up there as one among the best as well. Most importantly, I know that my sobriety comes down to one day at a time. That is all it ever is and I live much happier than I used to. Best of luck to you. Keep it simple. Don't think, just do it. - Dan

I have had a professional relationship with New Found Life for 14 years, I have referred many clients there and had the privilege of working with their clients as well, the owners and staff are some of the most competent, caring and loving people in this industry and one of the best treatment providers in California. I highly recommend them, if I had to send a family member somewhere this would be my first choice. Thanks for what you have done and continue to do for almost 30 years, to help those struggling with substance abuse, as well as the families attached.

My brother-in-law has had a long-running battle with alcohol. He never was able to last much more than a few months clean and sober. He did enroll for a stay at a fairly well known facility in Newport Beach. Following his completion of the program he was placed in a sober living group. Unfortunately, this group seemed to have more problems than solutions and it wasn't long before he had lost again. And again. And again. His pattern was so repetitive that he was no longer accepted at the local detox facility. The police were growing tired of picking him up off of the sidewalks and alleys to bring him back to his sister's and my home. Through his work union and intense intervention he was able to get to the program at New Found Life (NFL).The experience there was totally different. It was personal, immersive and complete; and was exactly the personal attention and structure that he needed. The program has an excellent focus on the AA principles. NFL was able to bring him to a stable sobriety and they included a great deal of the medical and psychological attention that had been previously missed. It was determined in the course of neurological examinations and testing that he had damaged his brain by drinking to the extent that he was diagnosed as having alcohol induced dementia. NFL continued to carry him on a scholarship basis far beyond the usual program length. It was this extra time of protection and guidance that allowed him to recover physically and mentally enough that he was able to function at a level that was not possible before NFL.Ed Spatola and the staff at NFL expended a great deal of personal time and resources to guide my brother in law. They eventually arranged for him to become a resident at a sober living facility that is able to deal with his mental limitations (short term memory loss and occasional confusion). His social skills are better and smoother and he seems to finally understand why it is truly in his best interest not to drink or use drugs. I personally believe that he would not be alive and playing his guitar were it not for the excellent guidance, handling, and effort put forth by New Found Life.

I will be celebrating 9 years of sobriety in October and I truly believe that without New Found Life, it might not have gone this way. The structure and support that I received, along with completely relearning how to live life, are things that I am forever grateful for. The continued love and support from ed and Mary Ann to this day mean more toMe than anything. This is not like any treatment center, this is a new family that shows you and helps you find a new way to live
