Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

The general structure of the Rehabilitation Program is: attend group therapy and education sessions that last for three-hours each day. The patient come five times the first week with the frequency being reduced over the next several weeks as their condition stabilizes. By the end, the patient typically attend twenty to thirty sessions over a period of eight weeks. Two or more staff members are present along with eight to fifteen other patients. The patient will also have the opportunity to meet individually with a clinician several times during the course of the treatment. They also schedule individual family meetings when they think that would be helpful.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

If you think a loved one needs help with substance abuse, but they are not seeking treatment, it may be time for a drug intervention in Maryland. Intervention services can help you with this effort. During the intervention, loved ones share how their addiction-related behavior has affected them and encourage the individual to get treatment. The intervention specialist helps facilitate the conversation and explain how treatment can help.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

For intensive-level rehab treatment, 24-hour clinical care in Maryland is an essential tool. Medical staff are available around the clock to supervise the process, which involves cleansing the body of toxins. Close supervision is necessary due to the potential risks of withdrawal symptoms. Medical experts on-site are available to prescribe medications and other forms of treatment to address these symptoms and ensure a safe detox process.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Once a person has become addicted to a substance, drug rehab in Maryland is often necessary to overcome that addiction. These programs provide the tools individuals need to manage the physical, mental, and emotional issues involved and begin a successful recovery journey.

check iconDual Diagnosis

People with alcohol and drug problems often have additional psychiatric problems that require treatment in order to achieve a satisfying recovery. The other problems that occur most commonly are mood, attention deficit/hyperactivity, anxiety, and trauma disorders. At Kolmac, one of their basic beliefs has always been that the best results occur when addiction and other psychiatric problems are treated simultaneously. In order to accomplish this, Kolmac maintains a full staff of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. They collaborate with patients’ outside clinicians on the best treatment plan. If necessary, their staff will prescribe medication and will arrange for a psychotherapy referral to an outside therapist.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Four key principles guide motivational interviewing. These are empathy, self efficacy, rolling with resistance, and developing discrepancy. These techniques allow the client to examine their motivations for change, identify discrepancies in their current situation and future goals, and feel empowered to make changes to reach their goals.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

The focus of trauma therapy is to heal the emotional wounds that occurred when you witnessed or experienced a traumatic event. Therapy helps you process this trauma emotionally and mentally so you develop healthier coping skills and improve your quality of life.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills may be as simple as preparing a meal or as complex as interpersonal communication. They cover a broad range, encompassing the core skills you'll need for a successful long term recovery. Rehab in Maryland focuses on helping you develop or re learn these skills so you can live a healthy, independent life in recovery.

Nutrition Therapy

Active addiction robs your body of nutrients. You need to restore a balanced diet to sustain recovery. Nutrition therapy helps you do this. You'll learn about the best foods for mental and physical health and how to establish healthier eating patterns in your life.

Thank GOD for this program. I am still a patient in CC, I graduated from IOP and this was the first time I was able to do treatment while still working. In the past the other programs I have attended would not allow me to work for 30 days. Thanks to Kolmac, I didn't have to lose everything this time. I am choosing long term recovery this time. Hopefully this helps someone. The staff here saved me. THANK YOU

This place is a joke and they steal money from you. Stay far away. First, they do not put the patient first. All they care about is if they get your insurance money. They do not hesitate to cut you off from treatment if they do not get your insurance money, copay, or co-insurance right away. This interrupts treatment and doesn t prioritize patient care. They will never reach out to you about these situations until they don t have their money. They take money out of your account at random times and sometimes double the amount without warning. This makes it impossible to plan for, especially if you are on a strict budget. No bills, emails, or statements are ever sent to the patient. When they finally get reimbursed from your insurance company they never pay you back the money you paid originally. They place the money into a credit account that they never tell you about. Basically holding your money while also collecting money from the insurance company. You won t find about this credit account until you call and talk to several people. This is surely illegal. It would make sense that the credits you accumulate would go toward future treatment sessions but they do not. There is also false promises and information from the support staff including supervisors, billing, and chart documentation. No one seems to communicate or even know other supervisors. If you have a problem with billing or treatment, They will tell you that they will talk to bosses and supervisors about the issue, however when you speak to the person they said they would talk to ,the other support staff is not aware of a situation or at times not even know who the supervisor you spoke to is. On top of all this the treatment sessions are not taken seriously. I chose to do my sessions online and that was new to me. The clinical counselor that I had allowed the patients to go to the store, smoke on camera, and even drive while on zoom sessions. My counselor also would forget what we talked about in the session before and do the same lesion again the next session. Feedback was hardly given and I got nothing out of the 3 hour sessions. They allow patients who are not serious about recovery to stay, give no feedback, nor pay attention, while they kick out patients who are serious about recovery (me) and attend most of their session due not receiving the copay or co-insurance immediately. They will also tell you about a payment plan however it is not true. Finally, I just wasted 2 months of valuable recovery time at Kolmac.

They care about money only not your mental health. Should be a crime how they operate. They will tell you to take a break until insurance is paid up even though they spoke with them and knew payments are in route. Thankfully I'm not in a place where I would wanna do harm to my self or others but if I was Kolmac wouldn't help. And my counselor is nice but offers no direction. Last time too Joel porter did something similar when my daughter was born. And they add more days to your program to charge you more. Criminal activities it feel like. Now three week kick out due to billing and they were paid. Seem like unethical or incompetent people in billing. The rate is always changing and now trying to better my life and finish programs and no reply from billing. Emailed CEO AND EMAIL BLOCKED. Emailed to the reply to this feedback@kolmac and no reply. It's amazing how they been around for years and treat people this way. Looking to see if legal action can be taken. They are no taking me or my concerns seriously and just wanted to finish what I started . Real review would be -10 stars. Come on KOLMAC YOUR DEALINGS WITH MENTAL HEALTH AND ACTING LIKE YOU'RE A BURGER JOINT

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention, Jamal. Kolmac provides payment plan options for patients from the moment they enter treatment. Our goal is to work with each patient as best we can depending on their insurance deductibles and personal financial obligations. Kolmac understands that some insurance plans have high deductibles, and our team attempts to provide options to support patients financial barriers. We would like to continue to support you and your treatment journey by providing you with additional payment plans or alternative treatment options. Please email feedback@kolmac.com to discuss this with our team further.
