RE: Cardiac Rehab ClassCardiac Nurses: Elizabeth & JulieRespiratory Therapist: BruceFollowing a stent procedure, I was scheduled to attend a cardiac rehab class. I selected Hunt Regional.Julie, Elizabeth, & Bruce head up this class with fifteen minutes of weight-bearing exercises, followed by another forty minutes of stationary biking. We then "wind down" following the biking. When we walk in, they hook us up with heart monitors to wear for the duration of the class. Diabetic patients get finger pricks before and after class, and we all take our blood pressure & 02 saturation values. And a daily weight is recorded. If any vitals are too high or too low, they immediately tell us to sit down and wait until we get back to a normal number. One time, they called me out and had me stop my exercise, sit down, and be still. My blood pressure had tanked too low! I did, and was very grateful they had a hawk-eye on me! They made me feel very good knowing they were watching the monitors to assure we were always safe! They take turns leading the exercise class and playing their genre music. The music varies and is helpful in keeping a lively beat to move. It always sounds like a party in there! They're very careful to clean the equipment after every use. The weights are taken from one table, then replaced on a different table when we're done. Then, one of them sprays and cleans them immediately. They also wipe down the stationary bikes on the seats, backs, & handlebars, etc.I'm very impressed with their diligence to ensure no germs are passed around. There are approx 20 bikes in the class, and we're always full to the max. However, I'm not posting pics of the room, as I'm being sensitive to the privacy of my classmates. But it looks like a bike riding class. The three: Elizabeth, Julie, & and Bruce, make this class so enjoyable! I love my class and will miss them when I'm through with my 36 classes.Hunt Regional Hospital is very fortunate to have these three professionals. They make exercise fun!

Accepted Insurance

Hunt Regional Medical Center – Hunt Memorial Hospital works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

This Hospital needs to start giving patience filtered water. if you want to encourage them to hydrate. because that tap water is nasty tasting. It's like lead and PVC hard water. My grandma is in the hospital right now. So she'll be in there for a while. and I'll take this review down when everybody starts getting filtered water.

Response from the owner4 weeks ago
We are happy to take a look at the filter and see what needs to be addressed. We would need to know which room you are referring to, please contact Service Excellence at 903-408-1648 with this information. Thank you.

11/21/24 I was involved in a MVA and taken by ambulance to HRMC emergency room. I was repetitively asked if I wanted pain medication, which I declined every time and yes I was in pain but do not take pain medication. Then sent pain medication I cannot take to the pharmacy. I was not informed properly of my results before discharge. X-ray was the most INCOMPETENT PEOPLE I have ever seen in my entire life, cut my leg on an X-ray board(post wreck mind you), not gentle at all with a very sore person(all air bags deployed in my wreck to give you an idea), kept telling me, "stay" like I was a dog and not a person and she was training... Absolutely HORRIBLE. Cat scan was amazing, the nurse was a moron, had no idea what she was doing. And then there was the fact that their were C. Diff patients in the ER who had possibly used the restroom we had to use. One person working the ER with pink hair, I think she was the only one really doing her job and EVERYONE else's... She deserves a damn promotion and raise . I will never step foot back in this emergency room again. I'd rather go to a vet. Also MISDIAGNOSED ME... Yeah and Owner, I won't be calling you to discuss this your hospital is listed worst hospitals in Texas as of 11/26/24 for several reasons

I visited the ER because I have been experiencing severe lower back pain for 2 days. I was assembling furniture and it feels like I pulled something. I was questioned by a nurse practitioner who treated me like a dope feen looking for drugs. I was NOT examined. Just put in a triage room and left there. I did get a CT scan which she said didn t show anything. She called in a prescription for a muscle relaxer which was not covered by my insurance but I will pay full price tomorrow when it s ready. I just need some relief from the pain. She literally made an error in judgement and had no time for me. I can t take the Tylenol codine and condones which is all she offered and I guess she thought I was trying to get a harder drug . It is 1:27 am and I can t sleep due to the back pain. I can only walk on with a cane and holding onto furniture trying to get to the bathroom after struggling too get out of bed. What s the secret too getting care at hunt regional hospital??? I have insurance and paid my deductible. I saw some of my former students working in the ER and even saw one in the waiting area who had someone in the ER and she was excited to show me pictures of her kids and tell me all about her life since I taught her. I m So proud of all of them. They are my legacy. I guess I didn t look the part to receive good treatment from the nurse practitioner.

WARNING DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER OPTION! I WAS GIVEN A CANCER DIAGNOSES WITHOUT ANY TESTS BEING DONE TO CONFIRM IT JUST TO KEEP ME FROM LEAVING THE ER!If I could give a negative rating I would! I went to the hospital for a simple kidney stone. I have been to this hospital several times but previously I didn t have insurance but this time I did. Before they didn t care what I had, they rushed me out quickly. This time however they were checking for things I didn t even have wrong with me! Like wanting to do an EKG when it was my kidney not my heart! With nothing showing anything was wrong with my heart to need that. Then they tried to do an IV after the 6th attempt I told them no more! Just give me the pain meds orally because I am not a pin cushion. After 2 hrs, in pain with this stone, I asked where is my meds? She said you didn t want an Iv so we canceled it? I said what? You couldn t manage to get it in, what am I supposed to do? Let you stab me 40 times till you get it? Eventually they gave me one Norco and that was it.Now here comes the Cruel part: After doing the CT they saw I had huge Ovarian Cysts on my ovaries. Which I was aware of and was scheduled to see a doctor about it. The doctor said well I want to do an Ultra sound just to make sure you have blood flow. I said look I have had these a long time and I know what it feels like when they twist but if you assure me this won t take long I will do it. (I had already been in the hospital sitting in an uncomfortable chair for over 6 hrs at this point) So I did it, After this time he tells me I would be waiting in this little chair for an additional 3 hours. I said nope just get me my pain meds for the stones and I will see the doctor on the other stuff. He initially agreed then comes back. Saying he spoke with the ultrasound tech and she worked there a long time and she suspected I HAD OVARIAN CANCER! I was in complete an utter shock, then I got pissed off just as quickly! Bc you can t tell anyone has ovarian cancer solely by an ultrasound. You need to have a Biopsy, CA-125 blood tests, other imaging, etc. To even confirm it! Just a moron looking at a screen doesn t confirm that you have it! *(Im angry so my apologies for the language and rudeness.) But that is completely wrong for anyone to say especially when I was alone without doing any proper tests to confirm such a suspicion. I mean damn the radiologist didn t see it yet! That doctor was young but I can tell you this, he s going to cost this hospital millions in malpractice lawsuits because you can t give cancer diagnosis or potential ones just to sucker someone to stay at your hospital who wants to leave! I told my gynecologist who was outraged as well. Because that s is completely unethical to tell someone giving them unneeded stress and anxiety over something that may never be true. Especially since I have been to this damn hospital numerous times who saw these same cysts before but never said anything! Not until I got insurance! Magically now I have something serious and they seem to care only when my insurance can be milked for all its worth! This is a horrible hospital. Please only go if it s your only option. And if you need real care, please go to a better one like Baylor or Methodist. This place will misdiagnose you, lie to you, and scare you, if they can get money off your insurance. Thankfully I have had these ovarian issues before and for awhile and cancer would be highly unlikely given I know what these are. Now could it be sure there is always a possibility but that s not something you throw out there to anyone unless you have a strong suspicion and evidence pointing to that probability which an ER is not the place to confirm such a diagnosis. Thankfully I am aware of this so, I was more angry and disgusted than scared. But another woman told this could completely destroy them mentally especially since that can be a death sentence given what stage its in. Basically tell your ER doctors shut the hell up on cancer diagnosis till the proper tests have been done!

I have been a nurse for 36 years. I have never in my life been treated in any medical facility with such kindness, compassion, love, and genuine concern. I would rather be treated by this hospital than any in the DFW area. They care about their patients, and they do go the absolute last extra mile to heal you body, mind, spirit, and Soul. I am so grateful for the valiant efforts of the ER staff and the absolute top notch paramedic staff from Hunt County EMS(Mitch, Ryan, & Cash, who was named after The Man In Black..How cool is that?) to keep me out of pain, and to get me back on my feet.So many people to Thank..Dr Thomas SharpDr Kevin MenesDawn RNFrank RNKara RNMaloes X-rayAnd so many others, whose names I failed to document I apologize sincerely for this God Bless you all, each, and every one!!Sincerely, Tamberly Robinson, QuinlanTexas

Do not come here, first of all when checking in one of the staff members insisted my family should stay outside due to '' germs in the hospital" like what??! She then luckily found a room for us, however it only got worse from there. WE GOT THERE AT 12AM and didn't get to leave until 6:45AM.. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH GALLSTONES, I had severe abdominal pain and could barely breath due to a gallbladder attack,, and when I tell you that the nurse came to check on me only once during my entire stay then I'm not kidding. There was an entire panel of nurses just sitting around keekeeing it up as if there was no work to do, very unprofessional, each one of them. I was so hesitant to even go the ER in the first place, because it already looks like a very bad building. I will never ever return, and every person should be fired, down to the Dr.
