Treatment options at Fountain Hills Recovery include inpatient addiction treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and an intensive outpatient program (IOP).

Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Many clients who enroll in an outpatient rehab program are exiting intensive inpatient care and no longer require such high-level clinical supervision. Outpatient programs typically follow a step-down structure, with treatment frequency and intensity decreasing as clients progress in their recovery journey. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels of care are the most time-intensive and are designed primarily for clients who have just left inpatient treatment or who are at an elevated risk of relapse.

inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

Inpatient rehab is designed primarily for persons in early recovery and those who are exiting detox programs. It's ideal for clients in crisis or at an elevated risk of relapse. Inpatient treatment centers provide housing and meals, allowing clients to focus on their recovery away from distractions and addiction triggers. Clients engage in intensive psychotherapy, and many inpatient programs feature recovery-focused life skills training and/or complementary therapies like meditation, creative arts therapy, and other holistic treatments.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs support clients' successful reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Drug rehab aftercare presumes that recovery requires life-long support. These programs typically offer a wide variety of services customized for the clients' unique and evolving needs. Clients may receive vocational training and career counseling, housing assistance, legal aid, peer coaching, and 12 step program induction, among other services. Clients' case managers often play a lead role in rehab aftercare planning.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

If you're struggling with adjusting to daily life after inpatient rehab, a sober living home in Arizona may be a good option. These residences offer an in-between option where you can practice the skills you learned in rehab in a structured, drug-free environment. This transition can help you prepare to face the "real world" after treatment. You'll live with others in recovery and follow house rules such as contributing to chores and paying rent.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

The initial phase of recovery treatment typically includes 24-hour clinical care in Arizona. This constant supervision ensures a safe detox process, which helps the individual physically stabilize from substance use. Patients will receive medications to curb withdrawal symptoms and cravings, as well as other necessary medical treatment. This period typically lasts up to a week, then the individual will receive medical clearance to begin inpatient or outpatient rehab.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

The safest way to remove addictive substances from your body is done under the care of licensed medical professionals. Known as medically assisted detox, this level of care is typically in an inpatient setting with a team of medical experts that may include doctors, nurses, and mental health clinicians. Medications like Suboxone, methadone, or Vivitrol may be administered to help alleviate withdrawal symptoms.

Shield icon Insurance

Our Policy: Fountain Hills Recovery works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact us to verify your specific insurance provider.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

The goal of motivational interviewing in Arizona is to enhance your confidence in your ability to make changes in your life. It encourages you to commit to change and plan for the process of making those changes that will allow you to reach your goals.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Residents of Arizona who are experiencing relationship problems may benefit from couples therapy. This form of psychotherapy helps couples express their feelings, resolve conflicts, and increase intimacy and affection.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Many holistic centers incorporate recreational therapy into addiction treatment to offer you a chance to rediscover joy in movement and motion and build social connections. Activities can include dance, group games, and yoga, which all help improve mental health, reduce stress, and develop positive lifestyle habits. These holistic approaches help sustain long term recovery.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

Self expression through creative arts therapy in Arizona can allow individuals who have a hard time articulating their feelings to access their emotions. This approach to counseling taps into our desire to create and draws from a variety of formats such as music, drama, sculpting, and painting.

This was by far the most filthy and poorly staffed of all treatment places. Staff were mostly unqualified all around and not certified. Only credentials needed was a few years in AA. Kitchen was full of unused food on counters and friends. General conditions of rooms were run down. If Cruely rules when people entrust love ones to them and this how they get treated we have failed terribly.

As the parent who paid for my daughters stay as insurance would not cover it I have a lot to say about this place. First it s a total scam and the main concern is to make money. Twenty eight thousand dollars is what I paid to have my daughter there for 8 weeks. They claim to have this earth shattering machine to help brain function it mind as well be a rat in a whelk as it is just a vehicle to generate revenue. Therapists were ever changing my daughter never got consistent people helping her . Food was not good either . They have huge houses the people stay at which is an attraction but cram everyone in two rooms. The website boasts about personalized care and a specific plan for your needs but that to is total BS. They preformed genetic and blood tests onmy daughter and according to real doctors those tests had no value other than to boost revenue for the facility. Again this is a big scam this place gives you the illusion that it s a premier facility but just like the treatment they give the patient it s all a facade. There were about two therapists my daughter connected with that were good but did not spend enough time with her. Lastly after spending all that money not one phone call post treatment to ask how my daughter was doing or any kind of arrangement or advice to help her continue her journey towards healing. Also as parents we never received any reports or updates on how my daughter was doing but were told we would get them on a weekly basis. Unbelievable. My advice is avoid this place check out a facility called the Meadows in Scottsdale which is excellent.

If I could give Fountain Hills a zero rating I would. The website is quite deceptive as there isn't an onsite chiropractor, the food is terrible and the housing shown is only for the men who have "stepped down" to PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program). Of the staff listed on the website, only three of the people work there (the founders are listed, but don't work at Fountain Hills). They claim to work with patients who have mental health issues, but it was my observation that anyone with mental health problems were beyond what the staff could handle. Fountain Hills was more concerned about money and keeping beds filled than the actual patients. It wasn't unusual for the staff to coerce, lie and manipulate to force patients to stay. Group and individual therapy sessions were frequently facilitated by unqualified staff.

I ve waited to write this review, but I m finally there. We have such a unique situation, and I think my daughter was a wild card in terms of testing their limits, but it s been over a year now, and I feel very confident that they have delivered! My daughter has borderline personality disorder, and when I set out to find a facility, I was looking for specific things. We wanted a place where she could come off of all the medications she was put on by other doctors, believing that not only were they wrong for her, but any hope for of accurately diagnosing her would be impossible, because other doctors had put her on so much that it became medicating side effects of medication for other side effects and so on.Borderline is not a chemical imbalance, but she s on only one medication now that really makes getting through the ups and downs of healing easier for her. While Fountain Hills Recovery has a strong focus on addiction, we chose them for their mental health setup. We wanted everything under one roof, so the person in charge of medication is in sync and in communication with the counselors and other staff. I think the States have it wrong in how they address mental health, but they have it dialed in here.We sent her there to begin detox just after Christmas, and over a year later she is still moving in the right direction. I finally have hope for my daughter s future. For the first time in her life, I have a daughter that I miss when she s gone and can t wait for her to get home. This is something I could only dream about, now I m watching her become an amazing young woman. She has worked so hard to get here (and there s still more work to come,) but I give so much credit to Fountain Hills Recovery for making it possible. They got her on the right path. One of the most important things that she needed, that other facilities totally failed in, was seeing us through the transition process. They didn t medicate and graduate her, then send her on way and wish us luck. They helped her find a new counselor, and then actually communicated with that counselor. They cared enough to make sure she was set up for success beyond them. I am beyond impressed and grateful. They knocked this one out of the park. One hiccup we had After the first week in the program, I made an incredibly difficult decision to bring her home , and opted for PHP from home. I like to think as her mother, I knew what she was capable of, and what she needed. So she came home against medical advice, but I still believe it was the right call ONLY for her. The only reason I mention it is not to say that this was a good move, but this is important I believe they had the ability to see, and adjust their program to our needs. She wasn t there for addiction, and they were able to change HER program to fit HER.On a personal note, the coordinator, Sandy, is tough where she needs to be, and soft in just the right ways. She s understanding and communicative, and definitely has her finger on the pulse of that place. She s easy to get ahold of, and immediately heard and addressed everything concern and question. Stephanie was her counselor, and she is everything you want in a counselor. Willing to tell us things we may not love hearing, but in a very compassionate and caring way. We had a few family sessions with her, and she saw me a few times because if ma and pa aren t right, how can we possibly help our daughter? Holly loves and respects her so much, she pops in every week to say hi. She ll be so disappointed if Stephanie ever leaves. Dr Robbie managed her medications, and still manages it today. I feel like he knows what he s doing, and hears your concerns. He was on board with what we wanted, needed, asked for, and then absolutely delivered. Everyone there did!ADVICE:Communication is absolutely essential. Everyone there listens and actually hears you! Communicate your fears and concerns right out of the gate. They know no two people are the same, and if you express your needs, they will make adjustments if they re needed according to your situation.
