I was scheduled for a procedure, went in through the ER, the desk clerk was very nice, she had nearly all my paperwork ready. All I had to do was give a copy of my meds and insurance cards for her to copy. I was called back within minutesthe nurse was extremely nice. Was put in a room where they took my vitals and explained everything, everyone was knowledgeable and explained every detail of what would take place . I could not have been more pleased with my experience and want to say that everything was very clean, very impressive, I hope if I ever have to go there in the future that I will be as pleased as I was with this visit.

Worst hospital I have ever been to . It took 3 and a half hours just to get taken to the back and another 2 hours just for them to tell you to see your doctor. The place is disgusting and falling apart. I have a few pics of the room we were in .

The ER nurse Devan who is as orange like Donald Trump shouldn't be a nurse if she doesn't have patience with the family member of the patient. I thought my dad had broken a rib and I expressed my concerns she said "Google and laughed AT ME" but Dr Barnett had no issues with explaining what I researched. When she asked if he had high BP he said no. I told my dad pain can make it high. She said I've done this for a long time I know. All I could think was I was talking to my dad you condescending heifer. Her degree means nothing if you don't honor body autonomy, help your patient from laying halfway off the bed, not letting a loved one intervene when the patient only says he's allergic to life and you get cut off because you're trying to help the nurse get the right info.... When she asked why did we wait 3 days to come. I told her we came when we could and she said "you don't plan for an emergency." Ms Devan WE DON'T HAVE A VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. She is one of the most condescending people I've come across and I'm from Memphis which says a lot. I know if I'm ever hurt and she's my "nurse" I will be requesting another. When it was time to go she brought in a wheelchair and left. I said damn I could use some help she turned around then offered help. I said I don't need you, LEAVE!

Location

Accepted Insurance

St. Bernards Five Rivers Medical Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients in addiction recovery typically require robust, ongoing support, which rehab aftercare programs are designed to provide. These programs are premised on the idea that clients' mental, emotional, physical, social, and financial wellbeing is essential to recovery. Clients collaborate with their case managers and addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services they will need to thrive while in recovery. Clients may receive peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational interviewing is a conversational approach to treatment. It helps you express your desire for change, reflect on any ambivalence you're feeling about change, and plan for the next steps to make the changes you desire.

The people of this place should put themselves in the shoes of the patients, it is not easy to go through addiction and they speak it as if it were something simple

Nurse was rude. Made sure to inform me there are other places I could have gone instead of there. She then proceeded to discuss me and my case very loudly and openly with her coworkers while talking bad, saying that I should have just gone to a liquor store. I will not be making a return trip

I had hit my head with a 34lb post driver. It left a dent in my head. My headache had been getting worse over the last few days so I decided to get checked out. Dr did CT and told me it was probably where I hit a nerve. He injected lidocaine just above my brow because the pain was radiating to my eye. Said it would take care of the nerve pain. Well that pain hadn t started until today. I ve had the head injury since Thursday. I would think if it was a nerve that had been hit it would have began at the time of injury. He then ordered me to get a steroid and toradol injection. Dr came in with CT results and said there is no bleed and it was normal and then left. It couldn t have been completely normal because I have lesions on my brain from lupus but that is besides the point. The lidocaine injection above my brow did numb my eye up, I could feel the throbbing but it didn t hurt until about an hour later. Like ten minutes after they gave my steroid and Toradol injection, and that is being generous with the time, I was being discharged. Pain in my head was still pounding. I left before pain injection had time to kick in. It is now about 1 1/2 hours since I left and my head is still pounding. I guess I will just deal with it somehow. I was so excited to get the toradol because it s like Motrin jacked up on steroids and every couple years or so when I get a migraine I ask for that and it works awesome. This time it didn t. The Dr was super nice and had fantastic bedside manors. Nurses were so friendly. Everyone was great. Just wish my head wasn t still pounding. I d go back if I ever needed to again.

We refer to this hospital as the bandaid station it s been that way for years and St Bernards taking over didn t help. Went in with severe abdominal pain and swelling to be told I was constipated I spent hours begging for someone to check my gallbladder. They transported me to Jonesboro over concern that I had a ectopic pregnancy, baby is fine and after begging Jonesboro to check my Gallbladder I was right. I m supposed to be going to see a surgeon hopefully soon. If u need stitches or have a small injury then feel free to go to this hospital but if you re dealing with something more severe save yourself the trouble and just go to Jonesboro, better yet go to NEA.

The doctors were very efficient most of the staff was very helpful. The front desk staff in the ER however was very rude and made fun of my inquiries.... I was without a ride and a very nice staff member helped cover a taxi ride back home for me.

Had a cardiac event saturday. My husband and I were very pleased with the immediate care we had. No sleep over nite but I had plenty of nurses and aids running test all nite. We believe the hospital has improved since St Bernard's took over. I think the bad reviews are not telling the whole story.
