About Embark Recovery | Drug, Alcohol & Mental Health Treatment Center of Arizona

Embark Recovery is a 12-Step-focused drug and alcohol rehab for adults in Prescott, Arizona. Embark Recovery offers family support, emergency medical treatment, and education counseling. Programs include inpatient, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), general outpatient programs (OP), and aftercare services. Specialized programs are available for young adults, justice-involved persons, and persons with co-occurring addiction and mental illness.

Embark Recovery will arrange for ground transportation to and from Sky Harbor International Airport to their facility, which is located 100 miles north of Phoenix in a desert environment.
Inpatient services include facility housing, and a customized dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) plan to build clients’ emotional core, including interpersonal relationship building and emotion regulation. Clients undergo individual sessions, group therapy, and an introduction to the 12 Steps program. Medical and mental health assessments, personalized care plans, relapse-prevention education, and extensive vocational training are included. Embark Recovery provides legal services for clients who have DUIs or active legal cases concerning their addiction. Clients are also invited to attend weekly activities, such as going to the movies, hiking, or sports.

Embark Recovery offers intensive outpatient programs (IOP) consisting of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior treatment (DBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychotherapy and psychodynamic therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). These programs focus on mental health improvement and trauma recovery and are designed for clients in early recovery, including those stepping down from inpatient care.

General outpatient services include continuing addiction counseling, recovery education, and ancillary therapies to support clients’ sustained sobriety. Meetings take place weekly or biweekly.

Typical aftercare services generally last six months. After clients complete the program, Embark Recovery provides continual support and guidance through ongoing case management and alumni programs.

Embark Recovery is accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by the Better Business Bureau, LegitScript, and the Prescott Chamber of Commerce.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive inpatient programs (IOP) offer high-level support for clients in early recovery, those exiting detox or inpatient rehabs, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically includes rigorous individual, group, and family counseling. Evidence-based complementary therapies, such as acupuncture and massage, are widely available. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) may be provided. Clients in IOP receive a minimum of nine hours of treatment per week but may engage in up to 20 treatment hours weekly.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs support clients' successful reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Drug rehab aftercare presumes that recovery requires life-long support. These programs typically offer a wide variety of services customized for the clients' unique and evolving needs. Clients may receive vocational training and career counseling, housing assistance, legal aid, peer coaching, and 12 step program induction, among other services. Clients' case managers often play a lead role in rehab aftercare planning.

12-step icon12-Step

Many addiction recovery centers base their treatment modalities on the 12 step program model, and those in treatment often transition to community-based programs. These programs can also be effective for clients who choose not to enter rehab. Traditionally, 12 step meetings are designed to provide intensive peer support whenever it is needed. In addition to group meetings and peer sponsorship, participants "work the steps" to achieve recovery through a systematic healing of the mind, body, and spirit.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

The safest way to remove addictive substances from your body is done under the care of licensed medical professionals. Known as medically assisted detox, this level of care is typically in an inpatient setting with a team of medical experts that may include doctors, nurses, and mental health clinicians. Medications like Suboxone, methadone, or Vivitrol may be administered to help alleviate withdrawal symptoms.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.
