Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

After completing some form of inpatient care, many clients transition or step down to an outpatient rehab, while some choose to transition from detox directly into outpatient care. High-intensity outpatient programming, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) is widely available for clients in early recovery, those leaving detox, and those at an elevated relapse risk. Clients in outpatient care generally engage in robust addiction counseling and recovery education, and some also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).

inpatient iconInpatient

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs offer high-level care for clients as an increased risk of relapse, including those in early recovery, those with a strong history of relapse, and those experiencing a crisis. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in nine to 20 hours of care weekly, with treatment modalities that combine psychotherapy and recovery education, and holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and animal therapy. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is also common in alcohol and/or opioid recovery.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers intensive addiction treatment while allowing you to return home each day. It can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option. Depending on your needs, PHP treatment typically averages 90 days with a weekly requirement of 6-8 hours a day. PHP treatment offers a variety of therapeutic interventions such as individual counseling, group therapy, and psychoeducation. Oftentimes PHP treatment can be fully covered by insurance.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Ridding the body of harmful, addictive substances, also known as detoxification, is usually the first phase of recovery. Those going through medically assisted detox can be administered medications by a team of medical professionals who are on-site 24/7 to provide different types of therapies that help mitigate withdrawal symptoms.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

In Texas, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs can treat individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse challenges. Usually offered on an inpatient or outpatient rehab basis, clinicians provide individual and group therapy, medication-assisted treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy, and skills training to address both disorders and equip you with the skills to maintain your recovery.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance abuse treatment is available in Texas for anyone who's struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. These programs usually provide a comprehensive assessment and individualized treatment plan, and include evidence-based treatments, like therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to reframe unhelpful coping strategies, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help with emotional regulation and stress.

mental-health iconMental Health

With a co-occurring drug or alcohol addiction and a mental health disorder, you'll want to seek out a dual diagnosis treatment center. These specialized rehabs offer services to address both conditions at the same time, including 24/7 access to medical and mental health professionals. By treating both disorders at the same time, it drastically increases your chances of successful long-term recovery.

I was a patient here for a short time. Overall poor operation, I didn t feel seen, heard, or listened to. I was left directionless after they let go of me after trying their absolute hardest to sell me on their in-patient program! Disgusting. After getting better on my own, I wouldn t recommend this place to anybody who struggles mentally.

I was a patient in their PHP and it was fantastic. Clarisse was kind, empathetic, and the skills they had us work on were much needed for us to move on and make it through our day to day lives. The yoga was great, food good, and the art classes ended up being pretty fun. I still have my journal from all the notes I took and plan to keep and read it when I m struggling.

I don't trust people and I was given tools to open up and understand why I do the things I don't want to do.

Patient beware and ensure your read the contract carefully. This organization has very aggressive intake protocols and will spam you continually via email and text. The contract is full of additional billing clauses, requires a credit card (outside of insurance), and has a statement that FMLA paperwork can take up to 14 days with a loophole clause that there is no guarantee that it will be filed at all. This center is all about the money. Go elsewhere. This is a reply to their pitiful response - I was most certainly scheduled to attend your facility. I removed myself from the admission process after reviewing the ridiculous terms and conditions that you sent me via DocuSign. My review is accurate, and I was most certainly engaged in your intake process.

This place is centered around assisting those who are in recovery from alcohol or substance abuse, and addiction recovery. I was referred here by my psychiatrist for recovery from suicidal tendencies and depression, anxiety, due to abuse and trauma. While this center claims to treat mental health disorders as well as addiction, the exact same curriculum is used for both, with virtually no group therapy support for PTSD/trauma recovery. Repeated attempts to request treatment for my issues were unsuccessful. My psychiatrist is now working to help me locate another clinic that specializes in PTSD, as we both believe very strongly that this should be a separate program. Continuum knew my situation and diagnosis and treatment plan when I arrived, however, they have chosen to ignore that.

Thank you for you comments. We strive to ensure that everyone has an exceptional experience at our program. This is unfortunate to hear that you have not enjoyed the experience. We are a dual diagnosis program and all of the staff at Continuum are equipped to deal with both Substance use primary or mental health primary cases. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us, we are very open to feedback and additional guidance on how we can better serve our community members.
