About Clean Path Behavioral Health

Clean Path Behavioral Health is a private substance abuse center in Costa Mesa, California. They provide holistic treatment with an emphasis on dual diagnosis care. They serve adult clients.

Treatment at Clean Path Behavioral Health encourages clients on the path of recovery by helping them make positive changes in all areas of their lives affected by addiction. They provide clients with gender-specific care. Services include inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, and sober living.

The inpatient program allows clients to live at the facility’s home-like residence under the care and supervision of staff. This program is designed for clients with severe symptoms and helps clients focus on recovery by eliminating outside distractions. Clients follow a schedule of recovery activities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), yoga, meditation, nutritional support, exercise, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, nature therapy, and art and music therapy.

The outpatient program is ideal for clients who have completed the inpatient program or who have mild symptoms. It’s a less intensive form of treatment that allows clients to live at home and visit the facility for treatment. This program includes individual counseling, group counseling, therapy, and career counseling.

Sober living houses give clients a safe environment to live in following or during treatment. These residences aren’t restrictive, but clients must follow certain rules to participate.

Clean Path Behavioral Health accepts many major insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Cigna, Humana One, and Neighborhood Health Plan. Clients should confirm their coverage before enrolling in a rehab program, because in network and out of network benefits may vary.

obviously pushing their patients to fail in order to get more bodies in and be able to bill another body's insurance! They're irresponsible regarding an accurate drug test history for clients in their system, based upon their personal opinion on a client. Beware, false positives here will be used against you and if you're there for your children/CPS that will harm your case. They count on the fact that as an addict you are easy to discredit, and I personally know someone who lost her parental rights because of this. Complaints have been filed and reviewed by OC Healthcare Services with action taken against Clean Path as a result.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Clean Path offer medically assisted alcohol and drug detox. They place the individual in a relaxed, stress-free home environment with 24 hour monitoring.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. They offer gender specific residential treatment.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober living houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Sober living houses at Clean Path Behavioral Health include daily transportation to 12-step meetings, 24 hour supervision, alcohol and drug testing and vocational help.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). The IOP at Clean Path is an ideal step down level of care, clients are allow to live at their homes and receive individual and group therapy, case management and life skills training.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don't require 24-hour care. Clean Path Behavioral Health PHP offers supervised treatment in a residential home like environment. Services include individual and group therapy, family therapy as well as medication support.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Equine therapy, aka equine-assisted therapy (EAT), is a form of experiential therapy that involves interactions and activities with horses. It does not necessarily involve riding horses, but all activities related to horses, such as feeding, grooming, haltering and leading them. A mental health professional frequently oversees the activities (often in conjunction with a horse professional), and helps patients process their thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns during and/or after the interaction.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Fitness therapy blends exercise with psychotherapy for a fun, inspiring, and effective way of treating addiction and other issues. By incorporating movement into counseling sessions, clients become more empowered, motivated, and goal-oriented, all while strengthening their bodies and becoming more flexible. Fitness Therapy is usually used to complement a course of treatment (inpatient or outpatient) to make it even more successful. Increasing the connection between a patient’s mind and body helps both with healing as well as in creating new, healthy habits.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Hypnotherapy (aka guided hypnosis) can be used as a therapeutic modality to treat substance use, especially in terms of quitting smoking cigarettes (nicotine). Clinical hypnotherapists help clients turn their attention inward, accessing unconscious or subconscious material, and then make suggestions that are healthier for the individual. The process can help clients make deep, positive, and lasting changes, including ceasing addictive habits.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

I graduated from clean path recovery in Santa Ana. I will forever be grateful for this place, they truly saved my life.. staff treated me like family they were always there for me even on my worst day, I never felt alone because I always had staff reminding me that they were there for me. When I got there I remember hating my life and wanting to leave and by the end of my stay there, I didn't want to leave!! I still go back to see staff because I know they will always welcome me there.THANK YOU CLEAN PATH!

This place is legit. There are a lot of places in Orange County that are total scams, but Clean Path is not one of them. The staff truly believe in what they are doing, and they re enthusiastic and empathetic. It s a dual-diagnosis rehab, meaning that unlike other places they take people who have severe mental issues in addition to addiction. They take the concerns of patients seriously - in my time there two employees were let go for not treating us patients with dignity and respect. Aldo, the guy who seems to be in charge, is a really cool guy who you can feel comfortable sitting down and talking to. The therapists are great, and individual therapy is offered on a regular basis. I will say that it can be pretty crowded and for the first few days there it takes a lot of adjusting - the groups might be so loud, with so many people talking, that it can cause sensory overload. But you quickly get used to it. Every Friday they took us to the beach, every weekend they took us to the movies, and every week they took us bowling. I met some of my favorite people in the world while I was there, and as strange as it seems I really enjoyed my time there. The therapy that I got taught me how to love myself. I really love this place. My only complaint is that it s too crowded and they don t provide enough of a balanced diet for the patients.

Just talked with Alonzo. Tried having a civil conversation with him about how two of the people I was in detox with are dead and if they are aware. He hung up. His TV was on in the background. My friend had just killed himself. He went to detox with me there. I was more looking for answers. He was more interested in who I was before hanging up on me. Alonzo call your sponsor. And humble yourself please. I will call back and hopefully be able to speak with the owner of this establishment who have a 40% kill rate when you go through their detox. Based on my experience.

[[UPDATED]] So today marks DAY 7/30 of attending CPR drug addiction program and staying sober. That being said, my review is needs updating now that I've experienced first hand how the company, it's staff and their guests behave and operate. (details coming soon) Don't get me wrong, I am very thankful and like most of the employees and attendees, but with the amount of money going through this company there really needs to be some changes implemented in the companies operation. OLD REVIEW =>(Flying from ID to So Cal currently to attend Clean Path and just wanted to shoot some praise at my man Tyson who has helped me takr the step of getting help and attending Clean Path as soon as possible. I will leave a detailed review after spending some time in the program and the counselors.)
