About Jackson Recovery Centers – West 4th Street

Bill and Marienne Center for Recovery on 3500 West 4th Street is part of the Jackson Recovery Centers in Sioux City, Iowa. This drug rehab provides adolescent and adult men with detox, medication assisted treatment, inpatient programs and aftercare.

Jackson Recovery Centers’s Bill and Marienne Center gives male clients a structured residence to detox and start their recovery. One feature that all clients may be eligible for is medication assisted treatment. MAT is a program in which licensed clinicians give clients doses of prescriptions of Subxone, methadone, Vivitrol, and naltrexone to help reduce their cravings and lessen any withdrawal pains. That way, clients can reinforce their recovery by not falling victim to relapse.

The inpatient program can include detox, where clients purge their systems of toxins and chemicals. The main part of the program, though, is addressing the root of their addiction. One approach is through dual diagnosis therapy, where individuals and groups tackle underlying behavioral health disorders that can include trauma and gambling addictions.

Recovery can also include traditional counseling programs, such as family therapy, 12 Step programs, and peer support groups, where clients offer aid and tips to each other as they recover together.

Jackson Recovery Centers also gives alumni additional support once they exit the program. Referrals can be made to other Jackson Recovery facilities for an outpatient program. Education outreach and community based events are also available.

Bill and Marienne Center for Recovery is in network with insurance providers. Please check your out of network benefits because coverage can vary.

Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

Clients in inpatient rehab reside at the treatment facility for the duration of the program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on unique needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically consists of extensive addiction counseling, which may include CBT, DBT, RBT, and motivational interviewing. Clients may also engage in recovery-focused life skills training and/or evidence-based complementary therapies, such as massage, meditation, and experiential therapy.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs support clients' reintegration into their home, workplace, and community following inpatient and residential treatment. They also promote long-term recovery for clients who may no longer be receiving outpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services encompass a wide range of modalities and often include various medical, mental health, and social service programs. Case managers and care teams develop clients' customized service plans based on the client's evolving needs and recovery goals.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Iowa is available in many formats. A variety of inpatient and outpatient options provide programs that are tailored to individual needs, making recovery possible for everyone.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

There are so many wrongs things in here. They are not trained in every academic subject and you are expected to do all the textbook work by yourself, their curriculum was chaotic. Food was atrocious and scarce, just like prison. Plus the portions were just so terribly small. ... Read More

The staff on the men's side suck & Chad the dude who runs it might be one of the fakest people I've ever met. Met with a actual therapist once talked to an actual drug & alcohol therapist for about 10 minutes in 30 days. Just watched a bunch of videos & read packets never worked a step never learned a step. Idk how they can call themselves a treatment facility maybe mental health treatment but I don't have mental health problems. Literally the only good thing about the place is the food & the Monday night speakers. Oh & they have bedbugs I would give them 0 stars

Excellent care & addiction treatment experience! Im Thankful for Rosecrans Treatment Center and the entire staff. Really great group of people! Special shout out to staff member, Kristi Erickson, who ALWAYS went the extra mile in ALL client cares! Thank you for everything you do, Kristi ~ Im giving 4 stars because I would have liked to have had more, individualized one-on-one, time with my assigned counselor, than once a week. I feel like having more than once a week would have been helpful to enhance my healing experience. Unfortunately, once a week was the max allotted time that My personalized recovery plan had allowed for me in that area. ~

This place was a joke ! They say it's a rehab Ha . All it was a psych ward so the slow it was just a place to get $ from people. Not a single person in there even knew that a drug was and to dumb to even know how to do drugs. It's sad there are people out there who really want help and then there's places like this. Sorry to say but then people were lost causes and they knew it. Place needs to be shut down.

In the middle of my admission the lady, Tracy, realized she knew me. Our daughters were friends. She asked me if it was okay to continue. Seeing as how I already told her some of the worst stuff about my life I said yes. But she then used that information to tell her daughters stepmother and dad that she cannot hang out with my daughter. Her daughter was one of the only good friends my daughter had. She used private information to take that good friend out of my daughter's life. When I reported it to my therapist they did nothing! All they did was make my case confidential with no reprimand to the therapist. At womens and children I was forced to get foodstamps, was told that's how you pay for your food..Forced to sign a document so kathh can open my mail and receive my food stamp card. Was told that she has a friend at the foodstamp office. Was threatened to have to stay there longer if I did not sign the document to let her open my mail. I was not allowed to go to own doctor. Could not go to ear doctor.Had to wait with their doctor while she discussed, on the phone, a male patients treatment consisting of what cream he should use for his rash down there.. I had a broken pinky finger; she told me something to the effect It would be something to talk about. A nurse told people they HAD to get pap smears... I then heard her talking to herself saying she just had to get 12 more... They had cockroaches crawling out of and elsewhere. Was told they just had somebody there that brought rotissing with them. Sure. Are forced to to care for other people's kids, even if you don't have you're kid there. And they have a daycare there. They will not not provide transportation to all schools. Paraded around at meetings, and referred to as my girls at meetings by staff. Staff talk about other staff in the facility and at meetings. Staff talk about patients other to other patients Automatically put on vitamins, and threatened with having to stay longer if I did not take them. Allowed to watch the show intervention where people are literally smoking meth on TV . And to top it all off another Resident was sneaking her boyfriend in and doing meth in the facility!

My 2 adult sons were really struggling from years of addiction. They came to their decisions separately to go to Rosecrance. After 30 days I was absolutely astounded when I picked them up! They both looked like different men, sober, in their right mind and at a healthy weight. Their whole countenance was changed. They were excited and grateful at their new chance on life. My boys are grown men and had no complaints about Rosecrance whatsoever. I found the staff to be kind, compassionate and sincere. I believe you get out of it what you put into it.
