Far less than Zero stars. Negative Countless stars. Do not go here for care. Unit 5 was a nightmare. Never received call from doctor. Not sure my daughter saw a doctor. No return calls from Friday through Sunday. My daughter s shoes and a very expensive text packet were taken from her never to be seen again. Toni and Sheila at front desk helped us and Sheila confirmed with my daughter!: help that the people working in unit 5 did not answer phones when ringing even if all standing by phones. No idea of meds daughter given. No actual care to inform daughter s caregivers and release of information was in my daughter s file signed. This issue sickest unit with no care. No return calls. It was scary. Nightmare. Do not go here. Hospitals are supposed to have doctors and nurses and therapists caring for the patients especially the sickest in unit 5. It felt abusive. Do not go here unless you need a holding tank type of place. Thank you Simone and Earl for helping me get her out!

I was in here for 1 week. Some nights we would get horrible mean techs and days you have that one person who is totally rude to you. Marcus ( the large guy) and Daphne. Marcus treated us like we were in prison. And daphne was just plain rude to me. I tried killing it with kindness when she worked on 8. IDK if she didn't like me because I am white or just me in general. Either way, these two people are RUDE!!!!!

Accepted Insurance

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers intensive addiction treatment while allowing you to return home each day. It can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option. Depending on your needs, PHP treatment typically averages 90 days with a weekly requirement of 6-8 hours a day. PHP treatment offers a variety of therapeutic interventions such as individual counseling, group therapy, and psychoeducation. Oftentimes PHP treatment can be fully covered by insurance.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Couples therapy helps couples learn to control emotions, trust each other, and communicate more effectively. It can be useful for short term intervention for a specific issue or for working on the relationship long term.

Coming to this hospital was really impactful in my life! It has helped me to see myself in a very different way and gave me great tools to use in my everyday life. Ms. Quanesha , a therapist in the outpatient program was extremely helpful in the group sessions and provided great resources for me in my journey. Her attentiveness and knowledge was very impactful. The rest of the staff was amazing! Always having great energy and making sure I was comfortable in each and every setting I was in.

If I could leave 0 stars i would. My child was sent here for self harming. Admitted for a total of 9 days. With in 24 hours of being released my child was at a different behavioral hospital for suicidal thoughts. I requested to speak to Dr. Raza at least 6 times while my child was there and was never given a call the whole time. I also requested to speak to the therapist Candice Rose, we had family counciling with. I requested about 12 times and was never given a call back. There is little to no information given while my child was there. The tech jojo, i spoke to when I did a call to check on my daughter was very unprofessional and rude. I will say the only help I got was from Taylor the discharge planner.

I would like to share my experience to each and everyone that will listen about Bellaire Outpatient Mental Health Department. To each and everyone that is in need of help please read this and know that help is here.I tried to kill myself on Oct 6, 2024. I had no one in mind to call when I took the overdose of pills. I called Mr. Mike, the transportation driver and he allowed me to speak with Maddison my therapist. The whole team including Celeste took action to help me. The nurse Tiffany left the hospital and came to check on me at the Star of Hope of where I was rejected housing. When I was refused that is when I decided that I didn't want to live again but here I am again today to tell you that life matters and there is true hope and if you are in need of help please call the outpatient department at Bellaire for help. They do care and will help you.

My fianc had a psychotic episode in May, and he did inpatient and outpatient at BHB. Now, he is back to his normal self with a diagnosis, medication, and a new lease on life. He wouldn t be where he is today without the wonderful staff at BHB. The receptionist Sheila was wonderful and supportive when I felt completely lost. Nurse Kathy showed us so much compassion and understanding when we did intake. And during his time there, my fianc said Nurse Practitioner Tiffany and therapist Maddie were amazing at listening to him and treating him with respect and dignity. I truly, truly can t thank this staff enough. You are life savers.

I was in the inpatient program which was great, it was a great way to stabilize myself. I then switched over to outpatient which I have been thoroughly enjoying. It s been very helpful and eye opening, it s also been really good with helping me keep and learn to keep a steady routine. Also meeting other people with similar experiences has been nice. I m not able to make the drive to the facility due to distance and transportation, so I am able to join via zoom. It s a great benefit it allows me to join group without having to make the drive.

To the Staff at the Behavioral Hospital in Bellaire,I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding outpatient services I received at your facility. From the moment I made the decision to take control of my mental health, Tiffany McNeary was there to guide me. Her deep insight into the program and her warm introduction to the team set the tone for my healing journey. The experience I had with your provider was one of the most caring and supportive I ve ever encountered. Britney took the time to explain everything about the services offered and went over my treatment plan with great care and understanding, ensuring that my goals were at the forefront of my recovery process.I would also like to extend my thanks to the therapists, Cammy and Quanesha, who created a safe, nurturing environment that allowed me to grow and face my mental health challenges head-on. Their support has played a significant role in my success today.I am incredibly grateful to the entire team for their dedication, compassion, and professionalism.

Taylor, the discharge planner is amazing! She throughly scans for the best and most suitable placements for her clients who are pending discharge. When Taylor found out a patient was placed in a home without the proper wheelchair, she drove all the way from her job to where the patient was located and provided him with a wheelchair that best fits the patients need! I was amazed! You can t beat that!
